  • Is there a way to play the Sega Saturn version of Policenauts in English? I prefer that version.

  • @MegaLagann As of now, there is no way to play the Saturn version in English. Which is a shame since it has the most scenes and has light gun support. But Junker HQ decided to instead focus on translating the PS1 version since the progress with PS1 emulators is much more advance than Saturn. They did once say they hope to one day patch all the versions of Policenauts (3DO, PC-98, Saturn). But let's not forget they have personal commitments and a life. So let's give them some time.

  • Verdit? lol

  • @TurningJappanesse Haahahah!! Man this review is bad and my mircophone was terrible back then, I should remake it one day, Verdict? If you love point and click games, then you MUST play this game. The science fiction narrative is done wonderfully well and touches on the mishaps that will occur when humankind eventually branches out into space. Voice acting is amazing, overall attention to detail and immersion of the universe is spectacular. It's a Hideo Kojima game, what can go wrong?

  • @WindyCornerTV MGS2 went wrong. Just kidding, I own Snatcher so I know how these games play. I really like cyberpunk games and this looks perfect. I thought the review was actually good. The only problem is how to get the translation on the actual retail game. Will my psx read the disc if I put a patch on it?

  • @TurningJappanesse Your PSX will only read it if it's been chipped or hacked.

  • I've been trying to create an ENGLISH AUDIO DUB for the cut scenes and all other scenes involving voiced interactions. I've run into a snag though. I can't find any1 who knows how to get ONLY the audio files from the games base directory. Cuz without them, I'll only be able to dub over the cinematic sequences. I've already assembled a tiny cast, but since I'm a guy, I need LADIES who'd like to try some voice acting out for fun. SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW FOLKS!! I AM BEGGING HERE FOR GOD-SAKES!! lol

  • @hopecandecieve Sadly, I can't help you with any of your problems. But if you need another guy for your cast, I'm happy to provide my voice work since I've got a professional recording microphone and software.

  • I just finished the game. What can i say. Its too epic to put it in words.

  • this game was truly epic...

  • The main thing I noticed was there were question marks missing in a few places. Not complaining of course, my sincerest thanks to the translation team

  • Great Review, However I only found one grammer mistake in the English patch.

  • *sigh*....where?

  • Its in one of the summy screens during act 2 I believe, it's no big deal, still readable.

  • when they put the CD in the pc...

some subtitles are missing (pc telling something)

  • They are just the Welcome login messages, the Japanese language is very different then English, They would of had to rearrange the words so it can make cents for us to understand.

  • Sorry I missed the summary pages (finished the game in one sitting). Keep in mind this patch is in American English and they spell many words differently to upset the Winsors.

  • i do not think so...

i always prefer the original voices with subs, it add emotion to those sentences...

and yes jonathan is a perv

  • Original vocies? in the game Jonathan and his partner Ed are American, which means they are surpose to speak English.

  • so, this game is japanese..i do not want more resident evil/castlevania sotn english voices..

  • Well it's very stupid having American characters speak Japanese, Resident Evil (Biohazard in Japan) the characters speak english with jap subs in the Japanese version.

  • yep, but the first time was in japanese too...

  • @SoloWing3844 It's not like they were planning on releasing this game stateside, which is why they speak Japanese.

It's like how 99% of foreigners in American films speak English, even at times when they shouldn't.

  • @SoloWing3844 : stupid ? No you create a game or a movie for an audience, not for the sakes of "realism". Anyway most American movies do the same... I think it depends on the medium you use : it looks so much like an anime that it would hurt me to hear anything but Japanese

  • @SoloWing3844 It's just a case of a product being released with its native speakers in mind. Films do it all the time, and unless it's supposed to be historically or culturally accurate, it's no big deal. I don't think Policenauts would have benefited much from an English audio track, besides the differences between the Home and Beyond accents being more noticeable to the ears of an English speaker. ;)

  • @sethisawesome Well the immersion of the game is somewhat broken because the characters are speaking Japanese instead of English. But it does work Vice Versa with other games like the Yakuza games for example. The first Yakuza felt strange and akward with the English cast. But Sega made the brillant choice of switching to the Japanese cast for Yakuza 2 and my love for the series took off!!!
