I have been enjoying your music since I saw you here on you-tube..I have bought a couple of your Penny in the pocket CD's, one for me and the others to share.
Would love to see you out here in Pa. either the Keswick or the Sellersville theatre. Thank you for sharing your gifts of writing, singing and playing.
Excellent. The fact is the "off the cuff one take" videos are better as they show the true extent of your abilities and seem more "real". Anybody can do it over and over until it is perfect and polished.
OMG... you are so incredible! Those lyrics rock my world. I just cant believe that you are not famous yet. This is why I think so badly of "christian label". They wouldnt recognize real talent if it came up and slapped them in the face. One day, someone will wise up and realize what a GEM you are!
Ah, Tish, thanks for that! I think you and I have the same take on the CCM industry. I'm just happy making music for whoever will listen and hope it means something to somebody. :-)
Ha, no, the webcam flips the image so it only looks like I'm playing left-handed. I didn't bother trying to fix it via video editing software since I didn't have much time to put it up. Keeps people on their toes! :-)
I love your originality no matter how you decide to bring it out in video. Please don't worry about polishness just don't stop bringing us your beautiful music. Thank you for another Leesha fix.
This is a goosebump song Leesha. Very emotional. Beautiful!
And you know, I wouldn't feel pressured to make perfect videos for youtube - I think showcasing your songs this way and then pointing people in the direction of your album if they want to hear a cleaner version should be enough. Besides, there's something very special about a raw performance in itself anyway. x
Awesome Leesha, Your writing and vocals are just beautiful as well as the guitar. Thanks for sharing this wonderful tune, finished or not, it is lovely.
Sweet, I love hearing new originals from you, covers are good but you're such a great songwriter and your vocals, I don't know how to describe it, they're so emotive, special, expressive, more :) I'd also say your guitar playing has gotten pretty polished
I love your music. Unpolished one-take videos are no matter. You're music is lovely, polished video or not. Thank you for taking the time to make ANY vids.
Leesha Harvey- This is talent. So beautiful. You were not afraid to show your raw talent. And that raw talent is WONDERFUL! I just love your voice. You write wonderful songs and then sing them with heart and it just make me speechless. All I can say is wow. -ally
Brilliant song!! Incredibly heart-grabbing. Needless to say, I love it. And I so love it when you do a video like this, up close and personal and live. :)
Hi Leesha. A story song like this makes the imaginary real. The way you set up your characters and give them life is wonderful. I bet many women out there will find this song a sounding board to their expressions of grief, and a hope and comfort to their own resolve. Musically, it is a gentle, lovely, and lilting melodic bit of prose that will ingrain itself in every listeners' mind. You have a perfect pop sensibilty without surrenduring to shmaltz, or false sentimentality. Always a friend, Jon
"You have a perfect pop sensibilty without surrenduring to shmaltz, or false sentimentality"-- you honor me greatly with that comment, sir. Thank you. :-)
Lovely, Leesha. You remain one of my all time favorite artists anywhere! I love live, "unpolished" music more than I love air... it's the polished stuff that sometimes leaves me empty. So this song.... on a web cam, one take, beautifully executed... I feel as if I've come home. :) However you choose to record for us, I will be listening! Hugs...Suze
I suppose it is a sad song... I wrote it based on some firsthand observations of people very close to me, with a few Biblical allusions thrown in for good measure. :-)
You are really good, I love the song!
