The one at 7:00 is a glitch - on all the other positions you mentioned i cant see where there is a problem - feel free to download the original HQ video on our website and disect it frame by frame at those positions - you will realize soon that no cheat was used!

I've played this game since it came out in the late 80's - long before any of you had ever heard of the game, so don't tell me I haven't played it! It was my first game on the C=64 and one of the first on Amiga500. I recognize cheaters and this is a simple cheat, a quite obvious too. If you can't spot it, you haven't played the game enough to know whats normal and whats not.

But now i realize i had a glitch in my copy of the game. In the middle of Level 22, i could pass a certain point, theres was something like an invisible wall. But i was 10 years old, I got no clou this could be a glitch.

Great speedrun! My best time was about just the same... played it till sickness years ago...

even tho it's a ripoff of SMB, I think it's way cooler due to more powerups, better level design and greater music!

I wouldn't call Adventure Island a rip off or even sonic the hedgehog. They are all side scrolling games but different enough to be unique.

I think the C64 is version is better, because it has more charm. The music and sounds in this version lacks. The animation is better but this is a 16-bit system, so it's a requirement. I stay with the C64 version until the new DS version come out.

Okay to get things right...TGGS is somehow a clone of SMB and in other ways it is not. The Chief Designer of Rainbow Arts, the company who made this game, said he wanted to have something like SMB for Home Computers, and thats what the 4!! Programmers did. The Design may be similar somehow but the gameplay is quite different, so you have a lot more powerups in TGGS, like time-freeze, fire-resistance, varieties of shots... and it plays a lot more tactical than SMB cause of the jumping passages.
