  • Coz Powell and M. Schenker... hats off!!!!

  • Simon Phillips wasn't bad on the studio version. Anyone have that lp still? except me, save all vinyl. Some real good Schenker videos on here, great stuff.

  • Schenker - Powell - Barden

    Fucking Rock Band!

  • this song n Micheal fucking rock

  • On fire

  • Ripping!!!!

    thanks for posting

  • Playing heavy metal music puts you right there with the other gladiator great! Perfect name for an equally impressive set of guitar licks! The MSG does it again.

  • WOW......What happened to music lately?..I could watch these "old vid's" from the past.. all day and night.....I'm I getting old ? very few can stand up to stuff like this !!!!!!

  • Music today is shit - this is real music!

  • Yes, music of today sucks. You get the wanna-be's and never should-be's. Micheal in the day was red hot. And copied no one.

  • @sobayjjp So true.

  • @hemi214 ... and put THE GREAT COXY POWELL behind the drum kit and you have have the best line-up ever!!!

  • this man is alive and well.!thanks for the tour this summer it was greatly appreciated.

  • Cool video, nice to see MSG in their hayday. I used to know Gary Barden when based in Tunbridge Wells. Thanks for some great music.

  • This is the best version of MSG...period.

    R.I.P. COZY!!

  • @irvan36mm you got it right on

  • All I know is that I know is that when Mike plays, I get goosebumps.

  • My man, rippin it up!

  • Thank you very much for uploading this movie!

    I like this sooooo much!!

  • Michael Schenker is another Guitar legend. He came before Yngwie or Eddie Van Halen. He has like the best tone and melodies. His song writing is very good. Top 10 of all time in my list.

  • exactly one of the best guitar player of all time

  • @aphasia1972 Agree! I like the Schenkman too...... among my inspirations! 5*****

  • Oh yeah!

  • THIS IS AWESOME

  • 土俵入り

  • Eruption X 10. One of my favorites from msg or ufo

  • Michael = GUITAR GOD!

  • And Cozy Powell at the drums!

  • Christ.... it's a wonder Michael could hit the notes back in those days, he'd shoot a shit load of horse hours before the gigs.

  • You don't know what you are talking about. Schenker was a drinker and still is I'm sorry to say. He is a musical genius. He never shot "horse". May have done some cocaine to but not "horse".

  • id he'd do enough he'd fall asleep. if he wojke up, he couyld play just fine. alcohol and pot limit your ability to play a lot more. coke, he'd get shaky hands.

  • What a fucking rip! You cant hang with that shit man.He shows once again how its not the notes you play so much, but more importantly, how you play them.

  • i heard that bro, schenker owns, everybody wants to be him lol its true

  • one of the most underrated guitarists.hes in my top 5 of all time!!!

  • same here

  • Well, he isn't underrated at all. Have you ever actually heard people saying "Michael Schenker's not so good"?

  • You're right - but 'real' players have respected Michael for decades. Shit, just listen! He was doing a lot of the hammer-on/pull -off stuff before Eddie came out.

  • time has seemed to have left MS behind, but he should be up there with all the other guitar greats, more players need to know about this guy, especially this era of his career

thanks for posting this, it brought back awesome memories of my guitar studying days!

  • "Into The Arena" forever changed how I listen to music. I never thought a guitar could tell a story before I heard this song.

  • you cant beat that arpegio section

  • It´s my fault!!!!

    Michael Schentre ruls!!!!

    He melodeh!!!

    UFO!!!!

  • er det ikke godt brian

  • hi is great

  • Thats shits brillant

  • Michael Schenker is the worlds best guitarist =)

  • I've heard most of Gilbert's stuff and own most of Vai's and neither is anywhere NEAR Schenker.

    Holmes is horrible.

  • いやぁー懐かしいなぁ、あのころを思い出すなぁ・・・

  • Woo! He in Workington 23Feb

  • what a fukin guitar sound & tone for 1981,this is great,i remember having,live at Budakan,on Cassette,

  • I haven't seen this in years! Thanks for posting it.

  • I love this song!

    Great vid!

  • Awesome guitarrist!

  • Satriani, Vai EVH, Malmsteen, Page etc... has nothing on Schenker except RESPECT!!! He actually showed Jimmy Page how its done.

  • @EUguitarRULE dude what's wrong with page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he's the best!!!!!!!!!(not better than hendrix)

  • Truly fantastic, just a shame he's too messed up these days to be able to play as crisply as this. My hero.

  • He's in his 50's guys? I am the biggest Schenker fan in the world, but it's done. Michael Schenker was a genius at guitar in a rock band in the 70's and had a killer band in the early 80's. Schenkers heyday thank god was in the 70's, it fit him well. Rockin, drinking, smoking, girls, good time!

  • Why is he too messed up? What happens? (i don't know what became michael schenker after the 80's, could u tell me?

  • From what i've heard it seems the demon drink might of played its part, i saw him in glasgow last year and it seemed he was just going through the motions, maybe i expect too much but you can be sure that whenever he plays my home town, i'll be there! He is a guitar legend and will always be number one in my eyes. One of a kind and we should all be grateful for that. Still my hero.

  • I agree with you. My dad says michael schenker is an excellent guitarist, very gifted.

  • I met him during a gig at this realy small shitty town called Workington in Febuary he was a nice guy, seemed fine too me. Played amazingly as well

  • the world anthem

  • xellent

  • Awesome song, my MSG favourite!

    And: Cozy R.I.P. !!! :-(

  • Cozy was lovely.. Metronomic, but still feelings in his beating..

  • he's ok but when it comes to technique & theory he couldn't shine vai or gilberts shoes

    seriously

  • Technique and theory huh. When it comes to song writing and very different sounding songs/solos they can't shine Schenker shoes. The 2 you name have ADD

  • what

  • Yeah, yeah everyone's guy is the best, and my dad flies to work in a fighter plane and has the biggest biceps in the whole world beacause i said so.

Shencker rocks like a mother as do lots of others thank god!

  • Michael is the most brilliant writer and player ever to strap on an electric guitar! Melody and tone like none other!

  • No doubt!

  • Awesome bass playing from Chris Glenn ;-)

  • MS is totally amazing, plays circles around blues guys

  • i was michael schenker at Rock and Blues custom bike show. BRILLANT

  • Schenker is simply the best and this is him at his prime! I challenge any idiot that bashes him to try and play this song note for note and with feeling....GUARANTEE YOU CANT!

  • michael schenker is a guitar god you fucking ignorant fucks!!!!!

  • Some of these young guys ragging on MS,EVH,late R Buchanan,SRV,and others is ignorant.Check Becks,Cause we've ended as lovers, off Blow by Blow.Wish he still played like that. You don't hear playing like that anymore.Listen to MS,he must have perfect pitch,One of the few gp's,that can hear something in his head and play it exactly that way.great melodic phrasing, tone, vibrato.Hard to listen to a p'r without a great vibrato, comes with time and ex,most new guys seem to have lost.

  • ha ha he has a Q-ray bracelet, i should get one of those, the guy is so great

  • "good but not great".. man.. whatever. You have some listening up to do. Michael Schenker is one of the greats.. and a legend. just ask Satriani! Schenker has influenced more players than probably any player period.

  • good but not great, joesatriani has him beat

  • Satriani great o.k. lets talk about Satch Boggie sounds like Schenkers Ulcer instrumental about 95% of it was copies from Ulcer from 1983. Feel free to reply you might learn a thing or two.

  • hahaha, u make me laugh, its recognized by sooooo many people satriani is better the schenker, google any list of top guitarist, satriani is always higher, and satriani is not jsut playing random shit, my friend who is a guitar instructor talked about this, schecnker jsut plays notes really fast taht sound good together, satriani was things called dorian scaeles, and will mx and match, satriani uses techniqe, schenker is ok, but hes not close to the skill level of satriani

  • erurum you know guys from Metallica, Iron Maiden, def leppard, Whitesnakes, Becker, Vai, Friedman, Petrucci, Rhoads, Accept etc consider Schenker as their guitar hero and most respected by all guitar greats notice I never mention Joe as one of the great because Vai and Kirk play better than the teacher. If the two where to trades licks say when Schenker was at his prime no contest Schenker wins after the 7th trade of. Schenker has near infinite licks, tone and melody etc...

  • lol, yoru running out of stuff to say, lol, that last comment sounded so stupid, haha, well, still, satriaini, will alwyas be more ppopular, andin most poeples minds a better guitarist, i went to guitar center today, and was asking about schenker, and the people that worked there laughed when i brought up his name becasue he was not taht good, he would pik up a guitar and play notes that went welll together, he didnt play guitar as an art, but as a hobby,

  • The whole idea of music is to play notes that go well together, idiot

  • not really, obviously you dont play anything, you use scales such as pentautanecs and dorians to create riffs, like he souds good, but from a music standpoint, its not to great

  • Most Guitar Center employees know as much about the guitar as nursery school girls. I routinely plug in there and vaporize those characters because they can't play. Their opinions carry about as much weight as my grandmother's when it comes to guitar playing. When guys like Malmsteen, Michael Harris, and James Byrd site Schenker as an influence, you'd better believe the man can play.

  • no, i know he can play, but in my opinion i just like satriani more, and watre you talking abotu, guitar center is a great store,

  • Guitar Center carries great merchandise; it's the employees they hire to sell the stuff that I have a problem with. As for your opinion, I don't agree but I can certainly respect it.

  • You're an idiot.

I hope the next thing the employee does is tell to put your sandy vagina in a grinder.

    'he employs dorian mode!1!!!'

Hey, guess what, so did Michael. First half, he omited the II and the VI, that's called a pentatonic.

Then he flatenned the VI, that's called Aeolian.

  • Your an idiot

  • i love you to

  • Schenker is a musical genius, and I'm sure you have none of his stuff.I like Satriani too and Satriani used to play Schenker stuff for his students. None of his solos/songs sound alike, and they are very melodic, dynamic and soulful. His is self taught and doesnt use a whammy bar or other tricks to impress. Go practice your spelling and watch your military videos. BTW Schenker writes songs not shred shit.

  • What a legend!! I finally got to see him last year, it was amazin - an he's comin back to London with the Scorpions in a few months X-D

  • Malmsteen, Van Halen, Steve Vai, satriani, Petrucci and all these "guitar heroes........" have to learn A LOT from Schenker. Master of guitar

  • I checked out Schenkers discography yesterday and was blown away by how many albums he's put out. I stopped following him after the "Save Yourself" album and tour.. so I have a lot of catching up to do! Thanks for the recommendation Bad1967!

  • Glad, I could help. Keep on rockin'!

  • days that michael was super

  • cool,..

  • awesome performance!!!!!

  • I have the address to a guy who you can buy this and other shows on dvd, if you want them.About 5 bucks a piece with awesome sound.

  • YEAH! too bad noone makes music like this nowadays.

  • ohh yes indeed!

  • Super!!!!!

  • What ever happened to Gary Barden? It seems like he just disappeared in thin air.

  • He did an excellent job on 'Life Vacation' off of the 25th Anniversary CD. Best song on the CD.

  • Gonna check it out as soon as possible, thanks.

  • Sure, my friend.

  • any guy that has ever played guitar any knows and wants to play this song.

  • gota love those flying v's

  • Man- why did he give up those v's on ebay?

  • He had issues with his ex-wife and lost everything. Had to pay to eat

  • Great song ,this is the first and only time that I've see Barden playing rythm guitar on this song, thanx for this classic video!

  • On this tour Cozy played a drum solo to 633 sqdn, awesome, I remember it like it was yesterday.

  • The best MSG line up ever: The magnificent Cozy Powell, Gary Barden (vocals), Chris Glenn (bass), Paul Raymond (Keyboards and Guitar) and, of course, Michael.

    ¡Awesome!
