@sacr3 VTEC is where technology is headed, and almost are cars will be sure to have some variation of it soon enough. Also, many cars are now downsizing the engines due to the greater efficiencies capable with smaller 4/6 cyl. turbo engines. Modern 4 cylinders can give any car a run for it's money. My '99 integra isn't quick by any means, but at the light it's just as fast as a 2008 V6 Challenger, and I can still hit 32+ mpg.

All vtec does is open the valves a little more so the engine picks up some extra power and it makes the car louder, remember more HP = a louder engine , basically while vtec is not working u have an econobox 4 banger, when it engages u get some extra power, i could basically do the same to my 5 litre v8 by just installing a different camshaft in it. The whole vtec thing is something for the company to get fools to buy their stuff, why not just have the bigger cam all the time lol. lolmpg
