  • me grandfather is from scotland, i wish he was still with us.. i dedicated this song to him at his funeral

  • Excellent. Keep practicing

  • abit out of tune and bit out of timing but mate good work seem so u teach yourself by ear thats really hard (TIP) research the sheet music for scotland the brave then either download it or rewrite it and learn to read music aswell as listen to it also i noticed your fingers are curved which means your pressing down on them to hardwhich makes it hard to do fast transactions (doubling) if not impossible also stand up straight and not bent over one side making your diapram better but good work :)

  • @Bagpipinlegend1708 I wish all comments to non Jack Lee capable pipers were this constructive.

  • what a bunch of assholes on here. He did better than i could have. ill bet he did better than anyone putting him down on here could have done

  • are you irish lad?

  • thats a good job. its not like its easy to fucking play. u did pretty dang good.

  • It's not that bad though lad. He gave a bloody good try.

  • hey man thanks for sharing that...love the tune and love the pipes...I am from Trinidad but there is something about the pipes that for some reason just makes me feel so powerful....keep playing, its a great outlet for the soul....If they played that tune at my football matches I would probably get a red card...lol....give us more!!

  • okay, you certainly need practacing

  • I actually think he did well, you guys are just haters.

  • did he smoke something?

  • Keep it up, crank it up, and dont let dumbbell political horse manure cloud your focus on your music.

Your version is just fine. I almost bailed when I saw how youthful you were...and figured I would be listening to something akin to somebody twisting a cat's taili. Far from it...just fine.

  • Aesome Man!!! Love it!

  • ahhhhhh my ears.... tune...and work on the false fingering

  • What a fuckin knob jockey !

  • This was so awesome! Excellent job, my friend! I'm so jealous - a few years before my mom passed away she wanted me to take up bagpipe lessons and she would have been proud to hear Scotland the Brave come out of my pipes! I'm sorry I never did it - your playing made me think of my mom again and that I should take up lessons! Keep up the great work! Dan (Vancouver, Canada)

  • Unfortunately mate, the pipes were out of tune, but still good job!

  • go fuck yourself!!!! scotland forever, england never!!!!

  • Listen bud,l am Scottish and for someone who hasn't been brought up in the country,to me and my wife it sounded brilliant.Yeah you will get better with practice but you sounded awesome.Ignore the comments of arseholes and people pretending to be Scottish and just keep going.Good luck.

  • cool i like that well done dude

  • i cant even get a sound out of a chanter lol so your 100 times better than me

  • from a Scottish lassie......yer daen guid on thon chantir!.......disregard those negative comments pal...they dae ken wot ther on aboot!!, n keep it up...yer daen well :-)

  • hey man, keep practicing, you're doing good....as with all instruments, all it takes is heart 'n dedication! peace =)

  • Thats an epic accent!!

  • ok youre not the best bagpiper but with more practise you will become better and better

    good luck

  • ur false fingering like a mad man and u have absolutely no embelishments(pardon my spelling) itchy fingers was aweful, and there was like chucks of songs thrown everywhere, there was no order in the songs... on top of all that it was horrorably played and way out of tune

  • no offense dude, but i think you should practice a little more before before you attempt to play songs like this and post them on Youtube or anywhere else on the web.

  • Go kiwi dude!

  • not meening it in the bad way but learn the tune and tune the drones THEN play it oh and dont say atleast he tried nd u havnt played the pipes cause i do im in a band

  • this is awesome!

  • i thought i told you to stop trying to play

and i also hinted to take them cats out of the

    bag thats cruelty to animals!!!!

    the names bond

    james bond!

  • I think you show great heart. You rock keep it up. All the beast from Canada.

  • LOL I lové this vidéo and your style.

  • loved it,,wicked.,

  • Your voice is the most nasal and most annoying one I've ever heard...

  • well ur ready to play in a BB pipe band that much can be said....

  • youve got about 4 songs in 1 , better than me but your S@@T .......What language you speak boy

  • i think you need a bit more work but not bad

  • really man, is this some kind of joke?

    ur just really, really awfull..

i'm not saying you can't learn, you probably could become a good piper if you looked for a good teacher, perhaps the local pipeband is searching for new members? they always seem to be searching for new members..

But please, don't cast such shame over such a proud instrument.

    this is just awfull

  • His knowledge of the pipes is about as good as your knowledge of the english language. You can find your way in it, but it's not worthy of thworing on the internet.

It's my opinion, stated without insults, just telling him my point of view, in the hope he'll find a teacher. If you don't like people telling their opinion, go live in North Korea and get off the internet.

  • lol point noted

  • well done man. very nice

  • you may aswell

be staring into a field of

    tistles. .

sounds like you have cats shuvd

    into the bag....... ....

  • Aye min nae bad ah ta

  • err it would sound better if you learned the doubleings and your finger posstion, and i think you need to ajust your bagpipe in a conftable possition because that dosen't look really conftable. try getting a new reed as well, and if you want to learn the last part it's called itchy fingers, try learnning som grace notes as well but it is ok at least

  • have you ever TRIED to play a bagpipe? NO?

  • Try to learn the tune on a chanter first and once polished take it forward to the pipes. Have you thought about a teacher to help? or you would like a career as a scarecrow in the fields!!

Sorry i couldn't even listen to the end of your post.

  • I LOVE YOU

  • ur false fingering like CRAZY and ur playing with ur fingertips a wee bit...iv had farts that sounded bettern that ithcy fingers ... and my farts make me laugh too

  • nice job buddy!

  • spend some more time on your embellishments, i heard none , sorry to disappoint you but it needs a lot of work.

  • lol so was viel ich auch können

  • OK guys quit your whinging and SHOW us how it's done?

    Thought not.

At least the dude tried his best. Better than what I can do.

  • u know what i will show u how its done because im a bagpipes... and if he tried his best,,, hes not good ata all

  • I' ll look forward to it, it is a great song to be listening to played well.

  • hey uh.... you need to put the pipes aside and break out the practice chanter... learn to play the toarluath and all of the grips, doublings and gracenotes, then learn to tune the pipes after...they just a lil' outa a tune... itchy fingers was just god aweful... sorry

  • oh and ur false-fingering like a friggin wild man

  • "get fucked" sounds better than your Bagpipes :L:L

  • ouch me ears! no more, no more!

  • I am going to criticize this guy because this is a disgrace to the song if your going to play be good

  • Why dont you fuck off and get a life. Go and eat a nice PORK roast or a nice BACON sandwich, you'll feel much better. Oh, and by the way, Start using toilet paper ya black stinking bastard.

  • have you got a practice chanter. If you havent get one and practice on it

  • tune before playing!!

  • Alba go brach (sp?) Best of luck!

  • You can hardly blow them, you played virtually NO embellishment on Scotland The Brave and Itchy fingers was unrecognisable...then I stopped listening...

P.S. Your top joint on the Bass drone is way to low

  • Wow. I've never seen a bigger bunch of needle dicks than the commenters on bagpipe videos. They are ALWAYS telling the particular performer how out of tune the person is, or how they don't know what they're doing, or some stupid fucking criticism in which they attempt to show just how much they know about bagpipes. Hey, dipshits - no one gives a fuck about your criticism! Shut the fuck up!

  • You can't say this is good. It is terrible. It needs to be critisiced

  • hahahahahahaha

  • wow!must be improve your pipe.

  • AAARGHH!!! my poor ears. lol You got the basics mate but keep at the practice chanter. Nice job getting the pipes going now you need to look into tuning them in. Also a bit more practice before the next video mate - please. All the best and keep at it. ;-)

  • if you have a practice chanter, go back on that until you learn all the embellishments. honest. learn those, then, put everything slowly onto the pipes. i'm a grade 3 piper and you need to work a lot to get anywhere. no offence of course.

  • sweet song

this kid reminds me of someone from This Is Spinal Tap.

good job on the bagpipes though :)

  • estas bien pendejo!!!!

  • great but a bit out of tune and patchy but i loved it.

  • love it 2

    xxx

  • Love it!!

  • Great job!

    You are really good!!

    I enjoyed it!!!

    Thanks!!!!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • your playing needs a little work, but you play the bagpipes pretty good I wish I had bagpipes like you do.

  • wow...what an excellent method for you to display your low IQ. - on a rather public display board - please mind what you say. I think constructive criticism works.

  • nice work.

  • You played all songs except Itchy Fingers without problems. I myself play Itchy Fingers with my band along with Sandy's New Chanter hornpipe. Itchy wasn't very good and you probably need to go over your gracenotes but it's very good nonetheless. keep it up!!

  • nice job !

  • Can you play the Ten Penny Bit? I love bagpipes. They are way too hard to play. God bless you as well.

  • Great vid, thanks!

  • your the man, forget wat everyone else thinks, so what if it needs a few minor tweeks. good on you!

  • was this film in the 80s?

  • You need practice a bit more mate, because you just took those tunes and gave them a hard raping....

    Ahhh my frikken ears!!!

  • one question... are u Australian??

coz if u are im very imperessed XD

    good work =]

  • Dude, you have the ability, work on the gracenotes, many are missing. I am not criticizing, just that you don't want people getting the wrong idea about what pipe music is now, do you? Keep it up, just spend some time on the training.

  • Whoa, bro! Lay off the helium!

    Nice job on the bagpipes.

I wish I could play the bagpipes, but I have the coordination of an otter. :(

  • Not bad! I'd love to learn bagpipes, but I wouldn't know where to buy them if I wanted to.

  • Nice job of it!! thanks!!!

  • sweeet! scottish independence 2010 =] ALBA GU BRATH! very nice vid

  • u seem to be nationalist due purely to an anti-englishness, im nationalist because of the economic and social benifits.

  • dude you fuckin rock

  • Excellent! Thanks for sharing with us!

  • scottish and australian accent?

  • well done and your playing is amazing :)

your voice is too funny =)

  • 5 star perfomance my friend

    Best wishes from Canada

  • your accent is soo cute!!!!!!

haha i lvoe this song and you play it beautifully

  • beautiful... puts chills down my spine... this is my fav instrument! I love it! :D Good job!

  • yeah... that put chills down my spine too.. then i had to go vomit... that is NOT scotland the brave.. it is some kind of sick mutilated version with some sick semblance of itchy fingers... like there are no taurulaths or d throws... or any grace notes for that matter... this is how people get that false impression that the highland pipes sound like a dying moose

  • where bouts u from mate your accent is catchy

  • his profile says perth which is in Scotland, United Kingdom (not the more famous perth in austrailia.

  • cool the geddy lee of bagpipes

  • pipes are fuckign hard, i'v been trying for over a year.

p.s your voice is funny. cheers.

  • well done son

  • he sounds like davey jones, hahahahaha

  • not perfect ive been a pyper since i 7 i now 13 i would say it could seriosly improve u held drones well at start though

  • those high a's are a bit out of tune

but they always sound slightly out even if they're in tune :D

    nice job

  • Ur good but a bit out of tune lol :)

  • i think you done quite well. and i love your accent.

  • Wtf is wrong with your voice?

  • u did great, a little off, but hey, i play trumpet, a bit easier than pipes, so i dont really have a say, lol

  • wey....aprendiste a usar el practice chanter antes!!!!!??????? xD

  • proper good job! keep practicing man you could be very good

  • WELL DONE, but my musical ear can not lie and say it did't squonk at the false notes there hé. You'll only get better trying to!!!

    Best of luck to you!

  • Dont think of the imperfectness of his playing as a mistake. Think of it as his own personal touch. I personally love it when a song(especially a anthem) is played from the heart and is not 100% correct.

it means that much more! SCOTLAND FOREVER!

    GREAT JOB!

  • Getting there, you need to do some clean up on it.

  • post some of u. how do u know he hasnt been playing for only like 1 year?

  • Hey ^^ i Love that :)

I think its rly good but some parts are little bit ... u know? xD

  • at parts ok but some went of key but your good

  • Well done, only a true Scot would understand,i've listened to all your bagpipe videos. You are great and you are so young, brought a tear to my eye.Check out my singing Loch Lomond on youtube.Cheers Ruth McCready Friend.Keep up the good work.

  • jajajajaja sorry

    great interpretation really

  • I am a Mackenzie dammit and I don't give a dairn when or how the piobs be played. This lad has got the guts of a Clan member. Play it, gille, play it loud and play it proud. And if ye be pittin the mither tongue on the wab, bràthair, all the best for our cluas.

In English that means play it loud and proud, dude. The more pipes, the better.

  • Playing the bagpipes correct isn't easy, but it was pretty good

  • this guy stinks real bad

  • horibble that sucked

  • learn the song correct on your practice chanter first. this was not very good :/

  • almost...

  • you playing the bagpipes = awesome

  • he sucks

  • thats your opinion :]

  • prertty good

  • well done !

  • it wasn't perfect but i still enjoyed it.

all you need is more practice :D

  • beautiful job.

  • People can be so negative. To those of you who were saying mean things, come on. Give the guy a break. I couldn't play those blessed pipes to save my life! That's way better than I could play!

Thanks, man. I like knowing that music will always live. I think I actually kinda liked it imperfect. I always hear perfect! :]

  • ach! 'tis a wee bit outta toon!!

  • ouch

is der a cat being strangled in that bag?

it aint ur playin, dem pipes r woeful

  • i dont understand how this video gets tens of thousands of hits when its complete shit, then my videos which are of decent piping get twenty haha

  • The reason I think why it gets tens of thousands of hits is because it's similar to watching the 'X-Factor.' People don't just watch it for good singing but also to get a good laugh out watching the complete shit. Lol.

  • actually i respect Scotland A TON!!!! Just its just that u need practice

  • it doesnt sound right cause you have to have the scottish gene to play the bagpipes lol only messin im scottish and i cant play the bloody things and for that fact i cant do alot of stuff we're suppose to do lol

how ever dont get me started on the english lol

  • how long have u been playing the pipes for? iv been playing for nearly 11 years and i really find that bad to listen to. not mention the tuning is way out!

  • I FUCKING LOOOOOOVE BAGPIPES~~~ The Edinburgh Tattoo was AMAZING... my dad was in it when i was younger!

  • wow! you rock! very well! I wonder how much one of those cost? and if it is hard to learn

  • i wondered that same thing and went to a music store and found a practice chanter for about $40cdn. comes with a cd and lesson book. i thought the price was right so if i dont like it then no harm done. hope that helps

  • YOU sucks MY BAGPIPES

  • Show some respect for other people's culture you pathetic uneducated dick, you SUCK my long white Scotish pipe.

  • Actually I respect Scotland a lot. Just not this guys' playing.

  • nice job. man.

  • You really need to concentrate on what notes you're playing! And what about the taraluath?! Please, practice more and you'll get better, I promise! Oh, by the way, what grade are you?

  • aye mate keep working on it , your good ill give ya that much better then some i have seen but keep to it.

  • Awful.....keep practicing

  • are you really that nasal..

  • nice job

  • well done!! that must be so hard...keep up the good work, u made us smile! :)
