note that big brother was using twin lead guitars long before it was popularized by BTO, CSN&Y and skynard. Janis actually had a very sweet voice, but she was "blues shouting" in the tradition of bessie smith and big mama thorton. I saw her in dallas in 1969 with the full tilt boogie band. She was professional and almost strickly blues. bb king was there too, and a consummate entertainer. those were indeed the days.
