Mitch was the kind of male actor I enjoyed identifying with, even as a boy. Guys like Brad Pitt, Leo DeCaprio, etc. just don't do it for me. I find it difficult to take them seriously as a male lead, too boyish looking.
Mitchum is beautiful in those shades. A real man of which there are none today. Highly intelligent and absolute naturally great at ease actor. What a presence and that walk! So missed!
Mitchum is loaded from the start, yet he keeps his cool throughout the whole interview. Few actors would/could do that these days. Once he made his stake, much like Brando, I don't think Mitchum gave a fuck about Hollywood or how the producers "wanted" him to act. That's what makes these guys cool.
Ahh, the good old days when male Hollywood stars were real men...I can't really think of any actor today that could properly walk in Robert Mitchum's shoes...except perhaps Michael Madsen
Mitchum was way before my time so I didn't see much of his movies growing up. But once I saw him in The winds of war, I was so fascinated about him. I started to find and read any books about him. what a fascinating guy!!! no wonder all women were going crazy for him. I think he is the one and only sexy man in Hollywood in my opinion. so manly and naturely
i like him so much!!! Please can somebody tell me where i can find subtitles in french or even in english? please help me i'm very bad in english i can't understand what he says :'( i even buy the DVD but there's no subtitles :'(
@Niiiiiiiiizette Honestly I would find someone who speaks English very well to help you. Even with subtitles there's alot of vocabulary and idioms that only a native speaker would get.
@DINOLOVER6717 He's did a few but most aren't well-known films. I'll be posting a clip of one of my favorite comedies he did, The Last Time I Saw Archie.
@DINOLOVER6717 I was just thinking the same thing. It was also probably the reason so many people formed a negative opinion of the guy, seeing him as arrogant or rude. It was his sense of humour and I guess if you didn't like it then he'd just let you dangle. So many took him too seriously (like the interviewer, Violet, that he mentions). He spent conversations just fooling with people (like his entrance here with the sitting-down-standing-up-then-sitting-down-again bit). I like it personally!
I think he's honestly one of the coolest people ever. And I want those glasses.
