haha... I don't like to throw the boxes away in case I need to return anything. I didn't really have room for anymore, so I kind of just put them on my fridge for display, I have 2 i7 860 boxes as well, but those are missing =(

Hey! Just ordered this bad boy. In asnwer to your question about the fan, the stock cooler for me on the 2600k was not enough if you plan on OCing. Looked at two different 3rd party fans: the scythe shruiken (new revision) and the Zalman CNPS9900 MAX (blue or red). Eventually went with the zalman as for an extra $30 you get the cpu OCd at 4ghz running at full load at roughly 52 degrees celcius:) Hope this helps! My system should be done by this friday!

  • That sounds great. LGA 775 was a long lived platform, Any idea which of the sandy bridge cpu's you'll be getting? I'm going for the i5 2500K, can't live without being able to overclock :p

  • @Superloser89 ordered all the components last night, got this mobo with the i7 2600k simply for the sake of hyperthreading, 1600mhx g.skill 8gb ddr3, coolermaster haf 922 case, HX750W corsair PSU.

Interested to know what other specs you have ordered??

Also planning on overclocking, any idea of how I could get using the stock heatsink/cooler while keeping temps at load under 70degrees? I have reached the limit on my budget for a while at least so a 3rd party fan might have to wait :/.

  • @no1ylf I'm about to upload some more videos tonight of the unboxing and more ranting.

I'm stuck with stock as well until i can get my brackets for my cooler. Fear not though, i've already hit 4.2ghz without touching the voltage, and peaking at 68c under load. Not sure if you'll be this lucky, but i'm sure you can do a moderate 4GHz until you can grab aftermarket cooling.

    Good luck!

  • This has helped me out a great deal, thanks! I am also really excited at getting my sandy bridge set up, my first upgrade since lga775 :D

  • Got mine today, should be here next weeks, got that along with this mobo. Good vid.

  • @GuMpAkC Thanks for commenting.

Let me know how your build goes, I'm really excited to see some early adopters of the LGA 1155.

  • @Superloser89 Totally man. I'm thinking about making a vid on it, got about $2k to spend so I'm going all out.
