  • there are lso vaidois who have an honorable history but i doubt their beliefs resemble peter waldo==whar di we know about cathar practices--my sense is that it was a form of manicheism

  • I am a Cathar living in Australia. No one knows what it means to be a Cathar. It's lonely. But worth it. <3

  • Very nice!

  • A couple of issues. The Cathars considered themselves as disciples of Christ and it is on that basis that their popularity spread and became a threat to Catholicism. I'm not sure who said they worshipped (or were even aware) of Isis, let alone a cult devoted to her. They were dualists, believing in a good and an evil principle. As to others who commented that Cathar texts have not survived, that's untrue. You can read the Cathar work "Two Principles" online at the Gnostic Library.

  • Best book on the Cathars is by Philippe Roy....if you speak French.

  • @02Blackbeard Hello and thanks for the info on the Cathars!

Do you by chance know of any English works that will get us close?

ie. Is "Gold of the Gods", a most interesting read, accurate? My French is terrible

  • @UnoRaza Not really....I did find two chapters of Roys book on google a while back, but it disappeared. Most of the books are either New Age junk, or else they are giving fairly superficial (though valid) information.

I'll keep an eye open and let you know if I find anything.

  • The Cathar beliefs are unknown as none of their writings, if they had any, survived the Catholic inquisition. We only know the Cathars through the eyes of their persecutors, the Roman Catholic Church. Hardly a reliable source of what they believed.

  • graham hancock notes doctrines in his book of bodily resurrection, heaven and reincarnation in some of the more widely known groups, cathars, gnostics and others of that time period.

  • new book The Great Game by Graham Hancock is the most extensive book I have seen on the Cathars and some other doctrines and history of that era, very well researched with new info.

  • To further show that the Cathars in fact worshiped Jesus one only must go to the Consolamentum the Cathar instructional text on the true spiritual baptism, in this formula it commands three times to "Let us adore the Father and Son and Holy Spirit" It is important to note that during this time the verb to adore was literally the equivalent of worship. Only 150 years ago if you "adored" something other than Jesus you were considered guilty of idolatry.

  • Cathars believe Jesus was and is the incarnate Son of God. That is a myth propagated by the Scandalous Modern Jesus Myth movement, they are trying to hijack Gnosticism and make it say something it does not and never said. Even the Gospel of Thomas(Although not used by this specific Gnostic sect) professes Jesus coming in the Flesh. The Gospel of John being their primary text repeatedly states Jesus is the Son of God incarnate.

  • @LifeLibertyLove To further my claim that Cathars believed Jesus was the Son of God and the Trinity is true I suggest reading some of the extant Cathar texts. One such example is the Rialto Critical Edition of the Lyon manuscript, here is one such excerpt translated into english, "the Heavenly Father would have pity [...] by the coming of His Son, Jesus Christ, and now is the time. [...] Father, Son and Holy Ghost have their spiritual abode as is shown above"

  • @stitchedplate41= If God is a woman, it won't bother me . I'll be so happy to learn that God exists, that I won't give care at all.

By the way, this neeeds more cowbell.

  • They were a fasinating esoteric gnostic cult...how about Otto Rahn's research into the remenants of Cathar communes? I think he drew a connection between them, the holy grail and the druids who once existed in that part of france.

  • true that this world is a prison and hell where we suffer, but we are all sinners and we have to learn to become good and stop being evil. then we can become Godly and live like in heaven & God will come and dwell among us. that is as close as possible to Christian Orthodoxy. Catholicsm is evil paganism. human sacrifice & drinking blood & eating flesh is what Catholics teach.

  • don´t have children, don´t believe in Jehova, because he is a demiurg

  • because of your title they assume you used a blue oyster cult song, did you? I have noticed a multitude of youtube vids with this > This video contains an audio track that has not been authorized by all copyright holders. The audio has been disabled. It must be a program not Individuals making the decisions.

  • Yeah, I think you're right. Don't they call them spiders of something?---these programs than blindly search the net for info. Then again, I suspect that there are actual copyright agents at play on YT, for before my B-47 video was disallowed, someone posted a very clinical message below it cataloguing the explicit name of the recording, like they were marking it or something. Either way, I don't think such censoring is a reflection of YT inhouse politics. C'est la vie.

  • I think YT implemented this program within there system to appease the the crybabies.

Because the ones that make the biggest stink lose fans and future profits.

  • Within umbrella of gnosticism, the idea isn't always that matter is wholly and irredemably evil. Matter can be made good, matter can be made spirit - this is a large part of what alchemy is actually about, fundamentally. Within Catharism, it is also interesting to note that sex without orgasm was practised, much like in the Far Eastern rites such as Tantric sex and other sex magic practices.

  • Thanks for sharing such fascinating information.

  • @GordonMorrice Also keep in mind one of the first mainstream Gnostics Valentinius taught that matter was not evil but IGNORANT. Matter has a purpose and that purpose was for our spiritual seeds to grow so we could ascend to the Plemora. For without maturing we would surely have been cast right out of the Plemora because of our lack of Gnosis.

  • @GordonMorrice "sex without orgasm was practised,..."

More than that male orgasm was viewed as a severe sin."

  • @UnoRaza

As late as 100 years ago, it was believed that if a man "spilled his seed" without the intention of creation was a sin. This is why sex without orgasm was championed by many religious groups. They also believed that the "spilled seed" was an invitation for a demon to take up residence within it and become incarnate.

  • "Material death frees the spirit"....No, not quite as simple as that. It's a matter of focus. You can be in a material body but have a spiritual focus.

  • yeah cathars also taught reincarnation, because they thought that the spirit wasn't freed if you never attained spiritual focus.

  • @roverthedog01 like Buddha said: find the middle way; between the physical & spiritual world, and that is how you become Godly. then God will come and dwell with us. you see people writing this idea which is mine (about God coming to dwell with us) anyways, the souls on this earth are big time sinners, if they can't make it here, they will be destroyed forever & following God's teachings is the only way they can survive. outside the universe evil demons wait to consume us for all our oast sins.

  • Bosnian Cathars are called Bogumils, but they called themself simply: Good Christians.

    rdr. to/00o

  • That is appropriate, since the original Cathars referred to themselves as "bon hommes" and "bon femmes"--"good men" and "good women."

  • @Altazar Actually Bogomils were a heresy that started in the Kingdom of Bulgaria (mostly in what is today Macedonia) in the 10th century. The connection to this sect, the Bosnian church and the French and Italian Cathars is assumed, but can't be completely proven due to lack of historical evidence, as it has been destroyed by the official churches in the places where the heresy was persecuted.

  • @Firewalkerbg this is all lies. there was no heresy. long before Rome became Christian, Christianity was spread & powerful in Russia, Armenia, Georgia, north east Europe & Southwest Europe. the Romans became Christian because they had no choice, everybody was christian. but the Romans added human sacrifice & eating the flesh & drinking the blood of Jesus to their religion which real Christians opposed & Rome murdered many true Christians & installed their evil satanic fake Christianity.

  • Comment removed

  • @Altazar The Ancient Kingdom of Macedon (which does not equal Macedonia) is a pre-roman entity that hasn't existed ever since, which was long before Christianity was even starting to get the form of religion. In fact Bogomils weren't similar to other gnostic sects in Europe - they were the very first one and preceded the rest of the gnostic movements by years. Feel free to check any legit historic book.

  • @Firewalkerbg Suggest me some historic books. I´d like to know more about Bogomils. I´ve read that there was an Bulgarian priest Bogomil...

I´ve met a Macedonian young man whos name is Bogomil and asked him if he knows anyting about them. He said that they were middle-age Christian reformators who wanted to liberate men.

As far as I know Gnosticism is older than Christianity.

I believe that there were 12 original versions of Christianity, because there were 12 apostles sent into the world...

  • @Altazar Gregory IX, who instituted the papal Inquisition to deal with the Cathar heresy, was concerned to stamp out Bosnian Bogomils as well. He deposed the Catholic bishop of Bosnia for failing to take any action against the heretics and replaced him by a German Dominican. But there is no evidence that the latter was able to take up his office, for in 1234, because Bogomilsm continued to thrive there, Gregory declared a crusade against Bosnia in 1240.

  • it's not the belief ... it's just power and expansion of the catholic madness which is infact more 'pagan' than the cathars....(christmas and all the shit mambo jambo)

  • well please don't make it complicate gentlements the papal insanity iron age is beyond reasonable they will destroy everything that block they way and seemingly catharism is introduced egalitarian and proto socialism way of life to its believers..(and vegatarian too)..they rejected the vatican version of christianity and didn't want to be vatican subordinate..

  • whaaaaat. none of this makes sense to me. i like christianity the most.

  • The Cathars believed they were representing the true spirituality of Christ. One which--- from their perspective---had been compromised by the materialistic concerns of organized religion. Essentially, they were right brain oriented, and therefore anti-institutional. No doubt they would have found favor in Mark Twain's notion that "organized religion is organized crime, and organized slave pen," expressed in 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.'

  • The cathars were christians, which part doesn't make sense to you?

  • VERY GOOD!!!

  • I like the spirituality of the cathars.

Their god is so much more divine than the god of the catholics.

  • The attitude of Jesus--spiritualist to the point of being anti-materialist--is unprecedented in the Davidic/Nephlimic tradition which precededs him. Perhaps his cosmology bears the influence of a 'psychologically-feminine' (right brain) discipline, such as the 'cult of the Black Virgin,' which likely extends back through Isis (Enki'ite) and resonantes the Lilith-like idea of balance between the two primal forces.

  • Perhaps Mary M influenced Jesus to this spiritual/psychological orientation (and perhaps some of her latter day followers are associated with advanced technology).

Some of the Loyola-types are probably sensitive to this spiritual orientation. After all, Loyola himself was questioned more than once during the inquisition, which would suggest his thinking was not in lockstep with the Church hierarchy.

Loyola was a Basque, which some sources linguistically link with Sumer, by the way.

  • Well, the god of the cathars and the god of the catholics was the same. Their is only one creating power. The big problem is that all religions, past and present, want to have power and to gain this power they spread fear. Once their is fear, you can promise the people hope and safety within this church, temple, mosk, whatever. This is how religion work. The gnostic cathars did'nt recognize the "Holy Roman Church". The church was IN the people. You do not need a pope, priest, rabi to reach God.

  • Yes, the essence of worldly religions is institutionalization, a left brain orientation, whereas the 'true Jesus,' which only the Cathars seemed to understand(and perhaps DeMolay?), is a right brain phenomena. The left brain is associated with PUNISHMENT(masculine) and the Freudian Super Ego, whereas the right brain is associated with REWARD(feminine) and the Ego ideal.

  • Understand "live" instead of "leave", of course.

Shit, we cannot correct errors on Youtube's comments.

  • "No meat, no sex"

No meat isn't difficult, I could leave without meat.

But no sex, how were they procreating?

  • Their were three groups that were playing a part in the cathar succes. "Auditores" or the people that stood open to the gnostic words of the cathars. Second the people who hoped to receive the "consolamentum",or the laying on of hands, (the only sacrament of the cathars), before they died. They could not live up to the standard of the "Bonne Crestian. This last group had the strength to live to these rules. After receiving the consolamentum they got to a higher level. A spiritual level.

  • I made this video before I became enlightened to the complex Sumerian origins of Yahweh, who encompasses multiple dieties and, therefore, reflects a cosmic neutrality of sorts, principally between the Annunaki brothers Enki and Enlil. This neutrality is why the Jews were "Chosen" to inhabit the neutral zone, the Holy Lands.

While the path of Jesus is very beautiful, I have come to believe it does not supercede the Elohimic authority of Yahweh, anymore than a branch can supercede its tree.

  • I should not have been born a catholic, I should have been born a cathar.

Then I would feel more at peace with my religion.

  • I do not belong to any organized group, religious or otherwise, and can well understand why some do--and why some some do not--choose to follow the teachings of Christ.

However, if one is to follow the explicit teachings of Christ, as opposed to the institutions which claim his name, then one must see the Cathars as brethren.

Much enchantment arises from the South of France, the Western epicenter of such spiritual orientation.

  • "Im a Cathar. I like your video I wish you would make it longer. I'm remember hearing about Cathars in a Western Civ. class and I thought wow these beliefs are the same I developed on my own. "

I'm glad to know that the cathars still exist.

I'm french catholic and I like the cathars.

Although I'm catholic, I feel closer to the cathars than to the catholics.

  • Perhaps the left brain manifestation of institutionalized religion, such as Catholicism, and the right brain manifestation of spiritual free-thinking, as represented by those such as the Cathars, are interlocked, and, in fact, feed off of each other's energy.

"Light and Darkness, life and death, right and left, are brothers of one another. They are inseparable.Because of this neither are the good good, nor evil evil, nor is life life, nor death death."

    ---Gospel of Phillip

  • If we look back to the Sumerian origins of Yahweh, we can see that he is a composite character formed by combining two opposing forces. Perhaps the inclusion of opposing forces within one conceptual universe engenders strong and fruitful interplay.

  • Im a Cathar. I like your video I wish you would make it longer. I'm remember hearing about Cathars in a Western Civ. class and I thought wow these beliefs are the same I developed on my own.

  • In my opinion, the Cathars present on of the few examples of humanitarian and enlightened leadership in human history. They ruled through love and tolerance, rather than fear and oppression, and thusly, their ways were commensurate with a psychology animated primarily by right brain---rather than left brain---motivations. If there is to be a humanitarian one world govenment, one could only hope that the Cathars would serve as a role model for its manifestation.

  • I respect the fact that you developed the same beliefs as the cathars did. But that doesn't make you a cathar. No one in our world could even come close in following the rules the cathars followed 800 years ago. No meat, no sex, no swearing or use of bad language in whatever form, say grace before every bite of food, no possessions what so ever, only the clothes you have on you at this moment. The list is going on, but I will stop here. To meditate in their spirit is good enough.

  • @ceehof Actually it was only the "Perfects" or "Good men" that followed the no meat and no sex rules. These Perfects would be the sort of like wandering priests who would spread the word and help with menial tasks. Most of the population lived their lived normally but still believed in the Cathar teachings of dualism and spiritual enlightenment

  • @SharkanKuthoshqea So right you are. These Good men and women got this name from the inquisition. "Heraticus Perfectus" they called the men and women who had reached this highest level. Like you state in your comment, the men worked in the field. Helping people, not only with the harvest, but giving the sick and dying the consolamentum. The women stayed behind especially to teach.

  • Always had an affinity with the Cathers - think I was one in a previous life huh no cant have been - wouldnt have come back here no way.

  • cathars seem to have been intelligent, and the man doesn't like that. dumber the better, as far as they are concerned. brilliant vid as always.

  • Thank you very much for posting this video bootleggersouth. I have a very deep interest in the Cathars since I read the novel "Laberynth". I do not share the Cathars' believes, but respect these believes and those who do share them. Again, thanks for the video.

  • You're welcome. Onr thing I find compelling about the Cathars is that they ruled by example rather than by a 'do-as-I-say-and-not-as-I-do' mentality---this was in sharp contrast to Chursh and State authority, and the people loved them for this, so much so that they tried to protect the non-violent Cathars from persecution.

  • You're oh so right. It is sad to see how people don't stand for what they allege to believe. You know, I respect the person who stand by his believes even when I may not share them, you know. I do not like surprises, I like to know where I stand, and the person that is firm in his believes (like the Cathars) allows me to do that. And I'm thankful for that.

  • 100% true

  • Well, I have to agree with some of their beliefs, not sure on some, but thats because my sense or normality is ingrained in my mind, and I am open, to mostly anything, so these people are very interesting. But, speaking from experience, once being catholic myself, that seems to me the case everything interesting and wonderful, the catholic church seems to hate :) 5 stars friend.

  • I used to respect you, I now believe you to be a mad man. I am also starting to think that videos like this will be used to decredit southern nationalism simple because you have made some SN videos. I don't know how much you believe in that cause, but in videos like this you can do nothing but harm it.

  • "Oh, you can't help that, we're all mad here."

Yes, bootleggersouth is a bit strange but most noncomformist types are; only way to keep the mass media from turning your brain to mush is by having something wrong with it.

Though, there is indeed a federalist church group that acuses neo-confederates as a whole of being closet pagans. I'm a fairly devout Protestant myself and tend to veiw gnosticism as sharing many bad traits with nihlism.

Maybe I'll make a video about it someday.

  • The Ophites are also centrally important. They believed the "god" of the Bible was an evil being. Apollonius is also worth researching. This is entertaining: watch?v=ak4I5D6oXuA

That Christ had anything to do with the evil slave-master god of the Bible is probably the biggest lie ever told.

  • The God is the OT is the same God in the NT, the only difference is he sent his Son Jesus to save us. God was never evil, humans were.

  • How can you allege that this would be true? It is your belief based on contents editorially amended over milleniums, and nothing else. Everyone knows that those "editors" are everything but a moral authority. So there is no reason why those apostles of cruelty should be the ones who are right, rather than those ones who struggle for gnosis/knowledge and justice -- even if the latter have eventually failed. This is however a matter of power politics (rather than belief or moral standards).

  • Excellent Video ***** and favored!
