For sure he has been inspired by him, but he already had his own style and sounded well before joining GNR. He is perfect for GNR! I attended the gig at the O2 Arena on 14th October 2010 and was blown away by Fortus (very individualistic, sexy playing, completely at one with his instrument). DJ Ashba also has awesome talent but is too close to Slash's style to make a major impact in terms of individuality and personal style... Axl's vocals are strong but the power, devil-may-care attitude, the rebelliousness and sheer youthful hunger is gone - I could not quite understand why? Is this the effect of clean living???

@PussyKat881 i went to see gnr in birmingham 3 days after. i agree, fortus is a very good guitarist, and bumblefoot is very good too. ashba is good but not as good, he looks cool but is pretty similar to slash, doubt hes copying slash just thier styles are similar. i think axl is great, even though he was over an hour late lol. i love this line up of guns n roses, not going to be better without the original so lets hope they stick together and work on a new album.

@wiebertjeen I disagree, I love the feel Fortus gives it. As much as the first solo is a classic, I think it'd sound aweful if he played it note-for-note like Slash's, just because if he isn't putting his own stamp on the solo then he can't put any feeling into it, whereas the way he plays/phrases parts of the solo and actually gets some emotion is great.

@hsneedude Its not a matter of skill why they are 3 guitarists... just look at how Bumblefoot is murdering Slash on the Final solo. He can play every solos from slash with eyes completely closed. Ashba's sound and style is similar to Slash's one so he fit well in the olds classics. Fortus is different and interesting, but i think his sound doesn't fit in a classical solo like november rain. Its too much changed to get used. He's doing well on many other songs and he kicks ass on rhythm guitar!

this is one of the best live performance of November rain i've ever seen not forgetting the style that buckethead put in for the outro solo sounded very technical and yet very2 nice....btw davidmaxpower these guys are not blues style of guitar player they played more technically than slash so it sounded different but still it sounds good to my ears.. slash is great i admit it but give credits to these guys..do you think that many musician will plays others musician music's just like that??

Yes, maybe he created the solos, but with the help of AXL 's and Izzy's creativity. By the way, its not because he created something that someone else can't play it better than he was. Slash is probably one of the most over rated guitarist. Too many people confuse popularity with real talent in this case. Look at what Slashette did since he is without AXL... nothing. Without AXL, Slash is nothing ! Respect please, but be realist too !

If you really knew GNR you would know that the molodies where created by AXL and Izzy for the most part, even the biggest hits. Slash was told what to play... because he is too limited. But once again, dont mix popularity with real talent. The new guitarist are so higher technically. The new GNR live performances are more accurate misically than it was in the old time. And effectively... Vulvette Revolver is nothing at all. Look at the few albums they sold... it will show you the truth.

Life is not the same and it changed the band, but we must give the credit to AXL and the new misicians for the new life of GNR. They are playing well and live shows are awesome!!! The past dispute of the band is not on my own... but finally i realise that the only member who is non remplacable is AXL. Slash was!
