This design has one flaw though: lack of range. I usually mount a 3.00 engine, max armor, two large pulse lasers and twenty heatsinks. Usually I keep enemies at max range, constantly striking them with lasers. In six seconds, pulse lasers can do 72 points of damage, that is double the damage of UAC/20. The only problem is that the variant is heating like crazy even with 20 heatsinks, and lasers are vulnerable in arms.

Yup. Unlike Vengence, If a mech is damaged it becomes unusable for 1-2 weeks (missions). You can speed up the repair process so that they're ready instantly, but that costs extra to do.

Lolz, just got done playin this game, boy its alot harder then vengeance, tho I must say it surely feels more like a battle then in Vengeance were everything is more like recon in force...the most u ever meet is like 4 mechs and some Vtols and tracks....the voices in this game are kinda annoying tho haha..fun game anyway

@Darkmarine40 Mercenaries was THE best Mechwarrior game ever. And now it's dead... hopefully Battletech the rebooted version will be good.

Dunno what you're talking about, MW4 Mercs has an active online player base, especially since they released it as a free download :D

You should try the 4ERLL Ryoken, it's very popular online.

Fafnir with 8 HVAC2

Warlord with 2 Heavy Rockets and 30 heat sinks

Cauldron-born with 2 LBX20 and 100km/h speed

Masakari with 3 Arrows, or

Masakari with 4PPC, 1 arrow

To get online, google "Mektek MTX". It's the special download client to get the free game with Clan/IS pack and all the MekTek patches, also connects to MekTek's online servers. The best games are in Sunder II.

@Rynx214 I downloaded the MTX client server, but I'm having trouble actually connecting to the servers. I've placed a message on the forums about it, but I'm hoping you might have an idea. I'm stoked to play again and will definitely try those variants. Let me know if you have an idea of what could be going on.

So you have the MTX downloader but couldn't get the game?  I think there's a specific port you need to open before you can download, and there are a few more to get on Mekmatch.

ER lasers I assume? And the Ryoken is a medium that packs the punch of a heavy. Its pretty scary with just its stock loadout. But nice vid man.

The medium lazers are ER lasers. small ones are IS. That's bacause there was no clan ER Small Lazers on the market at the time.

Really?  lol you must have bought a lot of ER small lasers to make it run out. I can never find enough ER PPCs lol.

I just checked the rest of my mechs and The only other small lazers I got on em aren't ER Smalls.
