  • I hate it when people try to smear a soldier.

  • Why is McClintock trying to woo Ron Paul supporters while at the same time smearing all those against the undeclared iraq war as anti American? McClintock is clearl a weak neocon stooge who will bow to GOP pressure at the drop of a hat. He by the way endorsed gun grabber open border advocate Schwarzenegger in 2006 as well as neocons john campbell and fred thompson. Good try Tommy, but you've shown your true colors. Get a real job for once in your life, eh? Signed, a former supporter.

  • You liberal Dems gave us Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac and support a Black Liberation Theologist who is the King of the Fannie Mae kickbacks and the Chicago earmarks for Michelle and his buddies. Go to non partisian Judicial Watch and look at your candidate's earmarks. Your liberal candidates find it difficult to hide their communist/socialist beliefs. McClintock is by far the best man who knows the California Budget and once he wins he'll demand reform in Washington among the Porked Politicians.

  • McClintock = a Chickenhawk now trying to denigrate someone's service. You sir, are worse than a pile of shit. I hope Lt. Brown kicks your ass in the election.

  • Find another district to run in McClintock.

The fourth isn't your stepping stone.

  • The Blue Star mothers are a right-wing Sacramento based group. I have no complaints with them, but their politics have always been right-wing Republican. That said, Charlie Brown's military career and the fact that he donates 5% of campaign conributions to veterans groups, make him 1000% the better man than McClintock will ever be. Not to mention that McClintock's uniform should be

a two-piecer: chicken hawk and carpet bagger.

  • Why in this ad Ms. Johns? I am a former U.S. Marine, and I believe that your smears against Mr. Brown are divisive and don't do anything to help our service men and women. Instead of trying to tear down Mr. Brown with a misleading ad, why don't you vote for the man who will bring your son home.

  • It was a sign. not an effigy. The message is an obviously true sign, warning that Bush is causing soldiers to die for no good reason. The idea is that we don't want that to happen to them. The word effigy is added to propagandize, and we are becoming so used to it.

  • There are a couple of major, major problems with commercial.

First off, a soldier 'was not hung in effigy'. That would suggest that that the crowd was baying to hang/kill US soldiers. They weren't. Pause the commercial at 11 seconds. The 'effigy' has a sign saying 'Bush lied, I died'. The so-called effigy symbolizes those that died on a war built on lies. Most Americans agree that to be the case.

Secondly, Brown wasn't wearing a uniform. Pause the vid at 25 seconds. Not wearing a uniform.

  • Interesting that McClintock states that the soldier was "hung in effigy", when the video clearly shows a sign saying "Bush Lied, I Died". That doesn't sound like blaming the soldier for anything -- but then, reality has a well-known liberal bias.

  • I don't see Lt. Colonial Brown wearing a uniform in that shot. He appears to be wearing a London Fog overcoat. And underneath that is a red T-shirt. It would appear that is a false claim, Mr. McClintock. Some might even call it a lie.

  • Man, military cutbacks must be pretty severe if our soldiers have to wear brown pullovers as uniforms now!

  • Typical right-wing lies and distortions. How come McClintock doesn't live in the district? How could anyone vote for someone who doesn't at least do that?

What exactly has McClintock done for you, besides fuel hatred?

I love that... "For the People." Which people? Certainly not those in District 4.

  • Excuse me, last time I checked, you _did_ have a Republican governor in California. And a Republican president. And a Republican majority in Congress for 6 of the last 8 years.

And you're worried about the _Democrats_?

  • Yes, we do question his patriotism. It's in question, or perhaps he's just deranged, like you.

  • The carpet-bagger is question the patriotism of LT. COLONEL Charlie Brown?

Damn, McClintock must really be scared.

  • Charlie Brown's only hope in this heavily Republican district was that a Democratic tidal wave in 2008 would sweep him along with it to victory. Instead, Palin/McCain are currently odds-on favorites (51.5 to 47.6 on Intrade as I write this) to win the election. Of course they won't get a majority in California, barring a total Obama collapse, but Brown is now swimming against a heavy tide rather than with it. This ad seals his fate. Even with 6 weeks to go, it's over; I call the race for Tom.

  • I live in that congressional district. Charlie Brown is toast.
