Your gift is your song and the timeless rhythm of the earth. It is the calling of all human beings to remember our ancient and primordial beginnings and realize we are never divorced from mother earth.
Thank you for reminding me that the best way to feel connected with our Mother Earth is to LET GO. I find your music is a beautiful companion to my free form dancing. May we all learn to let go together.
Thankyou :), much love and light to you your voice is soooo divine! you have inspired me as a singer today i needed this* blessings* (cant wait to get cd!!)
This song is so beautiful. I broke my leg a week and a half ago, so I'm pretty much bed ridden. Whenever I feel the need to calm down and stop panicing about everything, I listen to this song. It works wonders for me. Keep doing what you do best, you're wonderful!
@dancing1nceagain Thanks for the sweet comment :) Did you check out the new video yet? I posted another one yesterday - from my Washington concert last weekend. Let me know what you think. Blessings.
Brenda, I really like this song. I was wondering if you would allow me to do my own version? I am Navajo Native from new mexico but am now living in Seattle. I want to show my famly back home that im embracing my culture. Send me a message if you can and let me know. Thanks
When it comes time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home. Chief Aupumut, Mohican
Thank you all for your beautiful, heartwarming comments! The studio version of this song will be on my CD "Medicine Song" to be released this summer 2009.
I've been listening to this song for about 6 months but have been away for about 3 months meaning i was on the wrong side(what ever you want to think)this is my story! this song brought me to my meditation stage and I love it so much now that I'm back for good I know this song will remind me what I've learned and what I need to learn Thank you oh great spirit for bringing this song to us all and for Brenda to share it with us Otter Woman
It's always wierd for me to see a female drummer. It immediately puts me at an uneasy mood. You have a great voice and sing beautifully. The spirit radiates through you and your song and druming touched my heart. I drum myself but I am a base so singing is a little chalanging.
This song speaks to me on such a deep level.Your voice bring about such emotion that I tend to lock away at times.I share this song with many that I care about that may need some of the healing emotions that your soulful voice brings forth.Blessings of the Earth Mother to you always...
singing was nice, the voice a gift, heartbeat drum....just a sharing, I have a lakota friend, nick name heyatawiyan..inside joke we have, she hears her name in more songs, chuckle,,,,guess "heya" is used a lot as "native" thanks for the sharing
Brenda, your voice drew me from across the room, the song pulled on my heart, I dont know why but for some reason I began to cry, beautiful music of the Soul, marked as my Favorite now...
Yep, a few times. I sang at Nathan Philips Square in Toronto, outside City Hall, a few times. People later told me they heard me blocks away :) I was drumming at the Human Peace Sign there as well. People tend to feel calmer, relax a bit and often cry. It's a good emotional release.
Your title may not be grandmother yet but in spirit you sing to me as the voice of a grandmother. I thank you for this gift.

Thanks. Actually I only had that bottle because it was the choice I had in the store we were closest to, and it was extremely hot that day.
I have to say, my favorite water is glacial water straight from the glacial rivers in BC.
But for now, I settle for the tap water of Toronto, boiled and given gratitude for.

You're right - at that time I didn't have water and it was way too hot to go without, so I had to get what was available in the nearest store.
Thanks for pointing that out. I've since gotten a permanent personal water bottle I carry at all times.
