For me, I still like her accent voice when singing English. It makes her differrent. That voice is ... so Asian and so BoA. If she has a fluent English (and indeed I think she's already got it, at least when talking).. well, she'll coming further. But how can I and her fans from all over the world recognize her?

I think the main problem is not that English isn't her first language (though I think it is a big part of it), but that she is going down a sexy dance diva route with her English CD. Her voice in all the songs are synthesised Brit-bot style, which makes a great dance track, but doesn't lend itself well to live singing. I LOVE the english BoA CD, but I am assuming her label wants to market her performance ability more than voice or they would have put at least one ballad in there. <3BoA

Great video. Three camera angles and some killer close ups with good sound quality. Boa's voice sounds strong and the dance moves are excellent given the small stage. Boa looks awesome in those naugahyde pants.
i was worried thinking that "I did it for love" is so overproduced that she would sound terrible at live (what makes the song good is the synthesizers, and no human can reproduce a synthesizer effect, of course), but she handled it fine. I thought she would sound worse than that.

To be honest I don't find that to be true, because her first video that released Eat You Up dIdn't really involve her being "sexed up". It was actually her typical style. oh wait this vid is a good example of how she sounds really like a average person singing karaoke. HEr voice suits japanese cuz they like the high squeaky voice. But yeah.. i dunno... we'll be hearing alot of critism from americans about her voice and if they are joking about bringing her into this career. Then again britney spears is a good example (boa reminds me of a asian version) good entertainer and still can make lots of fans and be successful and rich.

i think when she sings in korean, her voice is VERY powerful and not a high squeaky-like. i guess maybe she's just not as confident in english :o

Yeah, I noticed that too! She used to do the squeaky thing in her older Korean songs like No.1 and Atlantis Princess, but I think she is reverting back to that because the label is trying to sell her as a cute Asian girl or something. I noticed her English CD, though a great album, is a lot more sexed up than her Asian stuff. Personally, I like the route she took in Japan the best.

Madonna can sing and she does have a strong voice for her type of sing don't bash on people that have GREAT talent. that's why there big here. BoA just started. It takes hard work to get big in America. We don't like shit. BoA isn't shit but it's going to take some time. Like all artist here you have to start somewhere and not very few can get big overnight. Great video. Three camera angles and some killer close ups with good sound quality. Boa's voice sounds strong and the dance moves are excellent given the small stage. Boa looks awesome in those naugahyde pants.

i personally think it's not a bad performance.
i was worried thinking that "I did it for love" is so overproduced that she would sound terrible at live (what makes the song good is the synthesizers, and no human can reproduce a synthesizer effect, of course), but she handled it fine. I thought she would sound worse than that.
and actually I think she sang greatly, I wish she could record a new version, without the synthesizers, just her real voice...

You are so used to lip-synching from artists like Britney Spears etc., that when a true artist like Lady GaGa or BoA comes along you think they sing bad. At least she is singing live.The truth is , no one can sing live an upbeat dance song the same as in the studio. So shut up, and respect BoA.

I think she did great, but I do agree that she can and WILL do better later on. She's just got to get used to perfoming in America. But she's an awesome singer, and she's well known for singing great lives. It's probably because she isn't used to singing in American.
I wish she had her old hip-hop image though. Now she kinda reminds me of Britney, just more talented, and not as cuckoo. But good luck to her. 보아 화이탕!!!

i think she did a great job here :] its just that her accent isnt good enough and its forgivable since it's harder to learn a language when you're older. this song has some crazy choreo, so its harder for her to not sing off-key at some points. she needs a bigger stage, LOL.

BoA can't debut with slow ballads because her accent will be more noticed.
Hence tons of fast songs on her debut album.
Also, it's easier to debut selling pop/fast songs and sex/sexy images. Look at Lady Ga Ga. What's she good for?
If BoA's first album sells, even if its just a bunch of dance songs, she'll have more freedom to do what she wants in her later albums after she convinces her investors and label that she is worth spending more money to debut in the US.

To be honest I don't find that to be true, because her first video that released Eat You Up dIdn't really involve her being "sexed up". It was actually her typical style. I think her fashion consultant or her manager just made a bad choice.Another thing if they were trying to sell sex like Britney and other pop artist ,it would actually end up a complete failure. Because fans actually liked her usual modest self. That's what makes her different from other artist besides her music and dancing.

this song SUCKS for promoting her first US album.. It doesn't show her great vocals or anything, this song is good only for those people who know who she is! Hope the people we "buy it" because of the beats etc (no offens.. i just want her to make it!)
