I am so damn proud that this band KISS was my generation"s BEATLES,I will never forget the raw power these guy"s drove into my brain,Im speaking for all of us that have put on the face paint and caught the feeling of playing in a band like KISS.I was there/here at this fucking concert back In 1976 and here I am now almost 50 years old and 1000 concert"s later and still have never saw or felt the energy that I did when I was at the KISS Destroyer concert.YOU GOTTA HAVE A PARTY.
People say Paul is gay... If I had his money and women he has been with I would say I am gay!!! wake up you fools, he is a 6 foot hot nut all american MAN...
@ih8tbush,I hear you man think about the fact that we had BebopDelux modern music Thin Lizzy Jail break UFO no heavy petting Bostons first Johnny Winter live Led Zepppelin presence the list goes on and on 76 was a great year for rock and roll.
1976 was somewhat of a transformative year in rock...They say Peter Frampton started the year in debt and ended it with 50 million...and Kiss went from the second tier to a household name. You could see Bad Company at the Garden for $5, and Wings Over America got us dreaming of a Beatles reunion, Bowie tours as the Thin White Duke! Wha Happened?
I was like 13 then. KISS gave me my first hard on!. Not for them...it was the music that made my dick quiver and it hasn't stopped to this day! KISS RULES.
@coffinshaker Nope, it didn't become Ace's 3 pickup black one he used in the very late70s/early 80s. That was a different LP. What Ace did was worse: He gave the tobacco LP to a luthier who cut out the top piece of the LP body (where the toggle switch is) to match the lower cutaway, making it a double cutaway. Then it was painted black, which was most likely easier than rematching the tabacco finish. Coke and booze make for poor vintage guitar decisions....lol.
I saw them first in 1976, and nothing can touch the Destroyer tour stage and costumes in my opinion. At that time, this was a jaw-dropping live show. Odds are, it would still be incomparable today if it was new.
Its a shame that no-one has been able to touch this band live almost 40 years after their debut.
I tried to watch Lady Gaga's concert special on HBO Canada (in HD!). That experiment lasted about 30 seconds. I'd much rather watch a low-res, grainy, thirty-five year old KISS concert.
They were simply a better, more entertaining, and more engaging band than anything I've watched recently. Good stuff that will never be duplicated.
Imagine what other artists were thinking when they shared the same bill/stage as KISS? I can WHY KISS had (such) a tough time getting other bands to tour with them-OR why other bands DIDN'T WANT KISS to "open for them!"
@AngelofAnguish KISS was too stong on stage. They came out and went for the throat. Other bands told them to tame it down and KISS said "BULLSHIT WE ARE THE STARS TONIGHT. We may be going on before you guys but the crowd came to see US !"

This is my fave Ace Les paul. Never liked the triple pickup cherry burst. This is the one I associate with him from when I was a kid.

@coffinshaker It was my fav too, it had its own mojo. Really sad it ended up butchered and painted black.
