I really need help please. I tried what you suggested but when I try to go in to find the corrupt or missing file when I type dir - the directory list stops just before the file with the problem and won't list the rest of the directory and it then freezes and I have to switch the machine off and start again. thanks dude, that worked, but as a notice, if u have 2 partitions, you have to delete one... because you cant copy the file in the second partition.

I need help I have a missing file. File is iertutil.dll have not been able to find a way to repair it. I tried downloading the file from internet copied it into the windows 32 folder. Hey guy's .. Did some digging around on some other forums for this and lucked out .. It work for me so I wanted to share .. Shut you're PC down and unplug .. take you're side cover off and find you're ram .. Take them out one at a time and clean contacts real good and replace .. put cover back on .. plug in and start up .. Like I said it work for me .. so good luck to ya ..

If you are running xp home SP2 and you have an xp home SP2 disk your good to go and vice versa. Same with all other service packs. To check this on desktop computers look on the back. There should be a sticker with your OS. On laptops there should be the same sticker on the bottom. To check if you have the right disk look on the front.

Hey Please Help i got the error saying the file is missing/corrupted and they tell me to press r to recover with the disc and i put the disc in (its a legitiment disc has the product key and everything) and it doesnt give me the option to boot from the cd and i cant get into safe mode or anything and it just stays at that screen. pressing F1 or anything also doesnt do anything but restart the computer and loading that same error please help me

there is no windows xp home professional.. it is either windows xp home or windows xp professional..do u have dual boot ? is this a laptop or desktop ? is ur battery failing ? check to see if u have any of the other power saving options set to kick in at 5 minutes u could have it set to go into sleep ..have u saved ur power settings ?

well this could a number of different things overheating, buggy drivers try updaing them, also try look for patchs for game your playing, power supply might no be good enough etc etc
