Another example of a conservative manipulating a thoughtful and cohesive idea and rendering it dribble for fellow conservatives to grasp. No one is saying that humans and other animals are exactly alike; the idea is that humans and other animals are SIMILAR in the way they experience life (pain, joy, anger etc.). Therefore, humans should consider an animal's sentiments before taking any action that will impact the animal. If anything, this story supports that idea rather than detracts from it.
