  • I just ordered one of these upscalers for my Wii and I'm impressed with even 720p. Looks much less jaggy than the current 480p I have running. This thing seems more like an "anti-aliaser"....cool.

    I'm currently looking into getting a 50" 720p Plasma for the Wii....And aside from maybe the upscaled image and slightly inferior motion when compared to my CRT, it's the LAG that has me worried. yet apperantly this Upscaler only has 8ms of lag? Is that alot less than what a typical HDTV pumps out? Also, i could care less for game mode as it offers crappier picture quality. Anyways how noticable is the 8ms of lag? I'm so anal when it comes to this, i wan't perfect timing! ;p

    Actually, since I've posted that I've returned to the component cables. The lag is actually more noticeable with watching Netflix than playing games. Remember that adding an ADDITIONAL 8ms of lag isn't cool. A TV with a 60hz refresh rate has a 5ms response time as opposed to the 120hz TVs at 2ms and it's very noticeable. Anyway, there were some issues I had with this upscaler that I noticed the more I used it. There was also a problem with visible horizontal lines on my TV screen.

    Honestly, I noticed a better overall quality with the Nintendo brand component cables. It's the way it was intended to be displayed and eliminates a bunch of problems that the Vdigi upscaler was giving me.

    Thanks for the heads up ;)

    Guess I'll just be sticking to component then. Any additional lag would kill the experience for me.

    As of now I have zero lag and that's the way I wan't it! ;p

    @jolu42

    8ms lag won't be noticeable and won't affect game-play. On a typical 60Hz game it's less than half the time of one frame!

    It's not the TV display rate that matters, it's the console's frame output rate. On a Wii, that's 60Hz at best.

  • This looks reallyyyy good.

    I can't even imagine how it would look if you upscaled it to 1080p.

    :O
