if u hit insert and have the sampler up full it completely covers the original signal with the loop.. works well with longer loops and stays in time thanks to the bmp counter
Can you tell me if this mixer is really that good? Whats the build like im thinking of buying a mixer I got my eye on this 1 or the Stanton Scatch Effects mixer which is featured in 1 of ur other videos. Please advise me whcih 1 u would recommend. I mix Drum n bass and Hip Hop:P
Great vid!!!! Maybe u could help me out I got the same mixer and I love it has so many features its the best mixer out there for the money my quest is how do u save ur samples each time I turn my mixer off they erase
@harryvonstacks maybe you are looping... in... mmm... out of time?? i don't know how to xplain, but is like, you record the loop with a little bit more or less time than the one you need so is not a perfect loop, that is what always happend to me in this mixer and my old cdj's 200 hehe, i dunno if you have the same problem. plus, do not trust to much on the 1,2,4,8,16 beat recorder. cheeeeerrrrssss!!!
Greeeaaatttt mixer. All those who diss behringer, i understand where your coming from, but this new model is solid. Had it for about 6 months and no problems. Highly recommended
I just got one a couple of days ago and I love it. Heaps of fun. I have been using it with Virtual Dj and CDJ400s and having heaps of fun. Fine for home use/hobbyist. Great value for money. Wanted a DJM800 or Korg Zero 4 but couldn't justify spending that much for use in my garage/studio
I love the talkover on my one too, absolutely brilliant, completely saves me the trouble of needing to do anything but talk, it fades the music down for you. Can't get that on a pioneer mixer.
i had one question for the experts : i want to buy a mixer, and a must-have is the sampler. affordable are only the numark 5000fx and this one....this one looks better in many ways except one: the smalllest sample is 1 beat...instead of 1/4, 1/8 etc....what do u recommend? thanks!
if you dont need the four channels but want effects then you should go for the pioneer djm 400!!that will last you and the effects on them are real tight, Behringer dont compare, they go cheap on everything so they can give you a four channel mixer with loads of features for under half the price!
Do you think it will be good with this mixer and 2x Stanton T.120 Turntables and a Digital Vinyl System, i normally play Hardstyle and Trance, so it wouldnt be scratch all the time.
hi mate hows things ur a brill teacher by the way and a great healp ,uv aved me hundreds of pounds lol.what is the best mixer out there and value for money
hey im just wondering is this a decent enough mixer cause im just a college student theres noway i can afford the Pioneer 600.. so i was lookin into this mixer would you say this a good mixer or just save for the pioneer?
but the sampler doesnt have 1/4 , 1/8 etc. does it? that would suck...without it u cant do the "machine-gun" sound...the pioneers and the numark 5000fx has it! am i wrong?
oh..yes i understand...i have a behringer ddm 4000 it is a good mixer but there is no posibility to trim a sample more than 1 beat..(1/2 1/4 1/8 etc)..the sampler section is pretty simple and not that good...the rest is very good...and ultramize is a very good option...
i just ordered two cortex htt-5000, and one of these bad boys. I hear so many positive things on the Behringer 4000, i just hope the cortex 5000 is good as well.
Hay amsterdamdeejay can i ask u about ur behringer ddm4000 mixer .. how long or how many beats can u record for using the sampler? will it loop 8 beats? or just 4 as shown in this video ?
This is for those of you who are not fans of Berhinger! All I say is I purchased three DJX700's three years ago for three of my sound system replacing Vestax and Pioneer in three of my systems. Let me put it this way. They are used 4 times a week, and have a pretty hard life and are still going strong! With NO problems! Yeah, sure in the early days there we're problems with their gear, but they are fast becomming a reputable make! They weren't a good option before, but they sure as hell are now!
Well, the DJX really caused a lot of problems, especially in the fader section. I had the exact same problems.
However I think the DDM4000 has improved in quality and duration. And u can send it back and get a new one, if it really breaks, so giving it a try seems equitable
J, not to nit-pick, but i think theres a better way to use the sampler. instead of hitting out and instantly dropping the sample into live play and off time, you hit 'Record' instead of play and that will also set the out point for the sample and it gives you the opportunity to select ur insert channel first and preview it/PFL in the headphones..
Just my own view on it
I think its a great sampler, but its let down by the fact it relies on the BPM counters, meaning u never get a perfect sample
This is what I heard about Behringer. It's just what i heard, so don't judge me if you think this doesn't sound true. As you probably know, Behringer is a german brand. But recently they decided to start making their products in China. At first, when people from Behringer were making their products in Germany they've had excellent quality. But since they started making them in China (since two or three ears) , they weren't so good anymore. They kind off made rebate on quality.
A fellow who worked with some older Behringer stuff said that if I have or find Behringer tools, even old , but made in Germany to keep it like jewels, because those were true art works. The current Behringer products are made to be competitive: cheap and functional. But don't have the same quality. Sooner or later , this will come up.
This is fun with your mic! Just sample BAM BAM BAM BAM, and than Tsjiketsjak Tsjiketsjak Tsjiketsjak Tsjiketsjak and have some fun with that. For example see the vid t_UbXSyI0ic
You haven't looked into this mixer. This supposedly cleared those flaws. The faders are optical for a start, and it's fully digital. There's more to it, but apparently the DDM4000 took a leap across the issues.
It would be interesing for Behringer to give us some specs on this. I cant imagine that the company would carry on if this was true.... 'this stuff is broken after a few weeks' not sure that is correct..... gear snobbery!

Acctually the talk over feature is on:
DJM 1000
DJM 800
DJM 700
DJM 600
DJM 400
SVM 1000
Basicly all the Pioneer mixers old and new.
happydude118118 2 years ago
You need to switch the switch on the pioneer ones, they dont sense talking and dip automatically.
Plus HOW much they dip isn't adjustable either, they are on the DDM4000
gavbag1234 2 years ago
Im sure they do as theres,
off - on - talk over?
However no you cannot alter how much it dips.
happydude118118 2 years ago
You can on the DJM800! Lol i used to have one.But the Behringer has many more features for the mic section! :)
DjSprinks890 2 years ago
I would like to add that the pitch adjust in the middle of the unit can be used to control the sampler.

behringer mixers
heat up very fast and for my experience
i have seen some broken behringer mixer
but stop complaining look at the price then think about it.
in top of that i like some things from behringer if you take good care of them they dont fail
btw sorry for my bad english
eReZ128 3 years ago
Great mixer, don't care what anyone says. I like how you can make the sample's pitch go up and down and even pitch bend the sample.
+ you get 32 secs of samples per bank, so thats over 1 min of samples.
I too think that button is for turning the mic on and off though and not the sampler.
sonicboom333 3 years ago 2

nope its for the sampler m8.

Under pg.7 section 2.2 article 15 on the ddm4000 manual it says "The ON/OFF push button turns the microphone channel on and off."
So I guess its for turning the mic channel on and off.

Behringer might be a good mixer for beginners but it would make more sence to buy Pioneer or any other brand than Behringer.
Cool video, though.

nah this is the best mixer of 2008 easily.
KAM are amazing for everything especially turntables.
Pioneer are great for CD Decks and mixers.

i know this mixer only has 1 problem and thats the crossfader is near impossible to replace as it is soldered to the circuit board.
i read every review in DJ mag on this and on the internet i can tell you every spec on it.
DJHenrySlick 3 years ago
It. Is. Optical. By the time your optical faders MIGHT show defects you're already working with new kit. What else is the problem?
DeeJayBounce 3 years ago
sorry mate, but ur wrong there, its actually the channel faders that are near-impossible to replace. the crossfader can be replaced too easily! LOL!
I love this mixer...
DJPaddy643 3 years ago
i meant channel faders lol.
cause there soldered onto the circuit board.
