Sally was inspired by Ricky, not Ray. And You have no proof SatAM was in production by 1992. And in any case, Amy Rose made her debut in a manga published in '92. So Amy DID come first. And really Archie was originally no more inspired by SatAM than the other verses. and even if Sonic X's is inconsistent, so is SatAM, Archie, etc.

I do. Yes, the original Fleetway Sally was as you described. Hell, in Japan, Sally's even known by her given name and by a nickname linking her to her inspiration..."Riki". But, as her popularity grew, Sally underwent several color changes, with her originally looking like Ricky with a red bow, to having blond hair and alburn fur, to having black hair and pink fur, and finally, to her SatAM/Archie final look with red hair and light brown fur.

clearjoy1: It depends, because in the American canon, Sally did come first and in the Archie comics--the ONLY medium to go indepth into Sonic's love life--Amy's 12 and Sonic's near 18 now, with Sally around the same age. Plus, in all conceivable possible futures, it is always Sonic and Sally together, regardless of whether or not Sally appears in any more games (see the canned Sonic 16/Sonic Mars and the released Sonic Spinball) or anything else beyond comics or the SatAM cartoon.

IRNO The anime's no more inconsistent than the games than SatAM or Archie so to ignore the anime on those grounds is to ignore every verse featuring Sonic and Sally to date. Sonic can care for Sally in the Archie comics yes, but no matter how much you don't wish it were so, he's had attraction to other girls (ex:Mina). And stop parading your canon philosophy as though it can somehow makeup for a dynamic low in quality. If you're going to argue SonSal, argue the dynamic, not this canon crap.
