Wonderful rendition of this song by a truly great vocalist and performer, Lena Horne! This song is not heard often. Another rendition (which I am not sure includes the introductory verse included in this version) is Johnny Mathis, Track 7 of LP album: "I''ll buy you a star". There the song title is a variant: "Ring THE Bell", a small difference which might cause it to not show up on searches. Lena's rendition is wonderful!
what an ERA GONE...>>>>>This was the Production Of The Great Talents, Legends in their own time, making History for all to enjoy...TIMELESS...Thank God I was born when I was, We all loved you and you will be missed....Join your FRIENDS in Heaven....Sing for the LORD......He Gave you this inborn Talent.>>>.HTH In WHEELING,WV
@NYCguys2007 A legend has passed on, & when some passes on we typically try to say something nice, but you posted ' SIX' times & we got your message. I can only assume you're an adult, or old enough to research for Ms. Horne. We want to read positve peaceful things about people, or do you find peace when there is confusion??!!
@less01 : It seems that it had something to do with Ava Gardner, although it is hard to find out much more. Lena and Ava were extremely close friends in Hollywood and Frank was always jealous of Ava's friendships, whether male or female.
thank you so much myblackamerica...i love me some lena...this is fab....love it love love it...thats how one works glamour and class and beauty and booty..hey
Lena wrote her autobiography a long time ago. I suggest you folks seek it out. Very powerful. Even Marilyn had an autobio that had some very revealing moments. Now let me go back and fix all those misspellings......

Sinatra was jealous because he thought Lena was as *close* to Ava Gardner as Artie Shaw was!

@NYCguys2007 Forgive me, & thankyou for not being crossed by responding. Youtube users tend to be insensitve, & again I ask you to forgive me.

@less01 Sinatra hated her because she was *too close* to Ava Gardner and you can take that a number of different ways.

You must mark your videos with Lena's last name so they're searchable under "Lena Horne."
