@parqueros3ce That is easy. First put the pictures in your USB & choose USB as your source then go to settings menu & choose "Disc" sittings the go to "File type" & choose "Still picture" then after that open your USB source so you can see your picture & you can upload up to 4 pictures in user capture 1-4. ___Check Manual page 16_
I'm also looking for a 7' screen to custom mount in front passenger dash. I'm after a screen that has only a power (on/off) button on the front. All other controls need to be via remote. Any suggestions?
@DeanoPoker Unfortunately we don't have much of anything that only has a power button on the front. The Power Acoustik PT-700MHR does not have any buttons on the face, so that may be your best option. We do also have some great deals on monitors with more buttons, such as the ScyTek PV-HR-700P.
@DeanoPoker There aren't too many specific "Center Channel" speakers on the market for car audio applications. One exception to this would be the Pioneer TS-CX7, which is one of the better options available. However, any single 3.5" - 4" coaxial speaker should do the trick. Plus, since those speakers are usually sold as a pair, you'll have a spare!
@naks26 You can definitely hook up a reverse camera to this unit and it will display the moment it goes live. It also has a set of RCA A/V inputs just incase the screen is too small and you want to add an external monitor.
@JDMCam87 I would highly suggest it, it is an amazing unit and the sound quality is great. Its also easy to use and has many features that will make you happy.
@flossidolla The artist songs and artwork will not display when hooked up via Bluetooth. You will need to hook up the iPod directly for those functions to work.
@SonicElectronixTV Is there a newer Model of this headunit and does this have enough outputs for 2 headrest monitors? Does it support a steering wheel control support module? I planned on getting a Kenwood KIV 901BT how does this compare? sorry for the 20 questions.
@SMGMP7A1 This model of the KD-AVX77 is still being produced in JVC's 2011 line-up so it hasn't yet been replaced by another model. This stereo has one set of A/V RCA outputs which will allow connection to a monitor, and you can use a splitter to connect multiple monitors. Both units will connect to a steering wheel control module. Comparing the Kenwood KIV-BT901 - it is a newer model and may have some increased performance. The KD-AVX77 can playback DVD's, and has a different interface.
@ThinkGoldStudios If the deck in your dash has an RCA video output on it then you can connect the monitors together from the composite video output from the deck to the composite video input on your other monitor.
Hey, I'm about to buy a 1 din in-dash system for my car (2001 escape), but my car has a 2 din slot... Is this hard to install?? And what would I have to purchase to install it?? Thanks
@detroitMC313 It won't be difficult to install at all. The dash kit that comes with your car will change the extra space into a convenient slot that can be used for storage. The dash-kit that's included with your vehicle is the Scosche FD1327B. This kit will be included for free when you order a stereo from us to make your installation extremely simple! You should also consider a crimping tool and some connectors, to make wire connections. Also a pry tool and a screw driver are recommended.

@VerTigo456 This unit wasn't manufactured at the same time as the HTC Evo, so unfortunately we can't guarantee anything with that phone. You can contact JVC to see it's compatible, or you can see if they've released any firmware updates to alleviate any issues if there are any.
I've tried this unit, bad purchase. It's cool, and is awesome to play with in the store. But using it while you're driving is horrible!!!
Too much time taken off the road to watch the screen as you press buttons, to make sure you press the right spot. Buttons that you can feel without looking are much better and safer. With my JVC KD-R811, I don't even have to take my eyes off the road to use it...
I thank you for the previous advice, I have to propose a final question, could you list the features that must have a video for playback via USB .... I mean codec, bitrate, etc. etc. Thanks again for everything you are my very helpful;)

just yesterday I finally received my avx77, experiment a bit here and there so I put a question, that I could connect an external HDD voledo (Wuestern Digital My Passport)? Many thanks Regards
@8stefan9@8stefan9 Unfortunately the radio will not be able to interface with an external hard drive. JVC recommends the largest flash drive be a 4 GB (or maybe if you're lucky an 8GB).
Unofficially, they also told us that PERHAPS you could connect a hard drive to it, or flash drives larger than 8GB if they are properly formatted. I believe the HDD or flash drive needs to be formatted for FAT32, and all of the organization on the HDD needs to be in folders.
is there anything better than this now? its been more than a year, i mean to say in this format also, and can you use a usb stick on this? hope for answers, thanks.
@8stefan9 It depends which generation of iPod touches. They should be compatible with all models except the 3G, however with an iPod interface cable it should solve any compatibility complications. Contact JVC and ask if they've confirmed any information on the iPhone Touch 3rd Gen if you have one.
@8stefan9 Indeed a 2nd Generation iPod Touch will work just fine. You'll be able to control the iPod through the radio, as well as allow it to charge.
@jjz99 I'm quite sure you can only use the customer background to take captures of DVD playback. I could be wrong, but refer to page 13 in your user manual for info about the AV setup including the capture feature. It tells you how to take a screen capture to set as your background. I'm not sure if you can load them straight off of a flash drive. So burn your JPEG file onto a DVD if need be.
@kirgeez Yes, the AVX77 has a detachable faceplate. The package also includes a carrying case so you can keep the faceplate with you, which in my opinion, is better than leaving it in your glove box!
Is it possible to conect a center channel speaker in this player without an amplifier? For exemple ... can I conect the Alpine SBS-05DC direct in the "center out"? I already have a 4channel (4x 100Wrms 4ohms)amplifier for the two 6-1/2" Component Systems and a 12" subwoofer.
@habilidoso10 The center channel output the KD-AVX77 has is -purely- only a pre-amp output. In the case you'd like to hook up a center channel speaker to it, you would need amplification coming from an external source. The KD-AVX77 has it's own amplified speaker leads, but you will not be able to use these for the center channel and make it sound correct. For more information, check out our main websites forum to collaborate with other car audio enthusiasts!
is there anything better in its class?? i own a kd-avx2 and im looking to upgrade.. altho the kd-nx5000 looks alike it too much.. i need something like this!
We recently sold out of them (don't worry, we have another shipment coming in soon), so i can not get you the specific dimensions right now. However it is a standard single DIN size. This will fit in just about every vehicle. What car are you looking to put it in?

its does have the A/V outputs for an external monitor. It also features 5.1 Channel Dolby Digital or Dolby Pro Logic II to get the most out of your audio.
The interface and software is designed for the iPod and iPhone, so the same playback and control would not be possible with a Zune. However, it does have a set of rear A/V inputs, as well as A2DP Bluetooth streaming. There are ways to connect a Zune, you just wouldn't be able to control it from the AVX-77 itself.
The USB cable for iPod connection can be run into a glove box or center console. Depending on the vehicle there are different options of where to run the wire. Since the iPod can be controlled via the AVX-77, you can plug the iPod in, put it in the glove compartment, and leave it there while still getting full iPod access.
Does it play widescreen visualizations while playing music? Can you use the external mic for things other than phone calls? Like us it when music is playing.
The microphone is going to be used just for the Bluetooth hands-free feature. That means talking on the phone (of course) as well as voice dialing (when paired with a phone compatible with that feature). As far as a widescreen visualization, the kd-avx77 doesn't have that feature. At least, we couldn't find it! That would be a really nice feature though.
I have been waiting years for there to be a new single DIN touchscreen JVC... I bought the kd-ar5500 off your site a few years back but it got water damage.
