  • their faces look funny

  • their faces look funny

  • Ummmm y am I here?????

  • LOL!

  • Is it drawn by the same guys that did Zelda on CDI ?

  • You know what? Whenever a Shakespeare play is made, the dialogue tends to be slow and boring. People that make plays by Shakespeare don't get through their heads that its not about the beautiful language, its about te emotions and problems these characters are going through. And you know, I think this little film actually gets that.

  • Best funniest moment: 10:11

  • Thanks for the help for my homework

  • I absolutely adore the fact that the entire animated film is drawn in the style of Rennaisance frescoes!

  • If you can't understand this..then you have problems it is so blunt.

  • very easy to understand

  • Dammit cut off at the good part!!!!

  • Tooooooo corneyyy

  • i LOVE these shakespeare's animated tales <3

  • isnt Juliet supose to be 14....

  • @AshleyFooFoo No i think when her parents wanted her to marry someone then she was 14 but she didn't want to marry him so they waited

  • Wow not to offend anyone but I like the song romeo and cinderella better. Try watching it it's a little weird but I like it.

  • If I remember correctly Juliet is supposed to be 13 nearly 14 and Romeo's age is 16 or 17. I might be wrong though but I hope it helps :)

  • Wait a minute, do they show Rosaline at all ? Because I don't remember her even having a line, and in the movies I saw of this story (I'm reading the play for english class) she isn't shown. This is defiantly a version of the play you should only during or after you read it and NOT before or you're gonna be confused as hell.

  • @MegaOrwell1984 Ya, you're right. Nope - in the actual play, Rosaline doesn't speak at all. I'm a freshman and read the play recently in class. I think the movies totally mess it up and get information wrong. Although, this version is pretty good so far, although I haven't watched the whole thing yet.

  • @Nicole3900 Actually with the two adaptations of the story I saw in english class, Rosaline wasn't seen at all. It's just this movie that mess it up.

  • @MegaOrwell1984 Did you watch the movie from 1968? With Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey? We only watched certain clips of it in my English class, but I'm pretty sure Rosaline was seen in that version. But as for Rosaline in the actual written play by Shakespeare, she didn't any speaking parts at all.

  • @Nicole3900 The only two we watched were the Zeffrelli version and the one with Dicaprio.

  • my younger kid learns english with Romeo & juliet story telling which is the same

animation. this is a good text for basic english

  • Weird

  • this version is so off on so many levels

  • Out of the other Shakespeare's plays, this is the easiest to understand.

  • Reading the text by oneself is where it is at.

  • tommoro is my exam (eng)

i hope i get an idea of this chapter with these videos!!!!! :D

  • 8:21-8:22 a little gay.

  • @daryl2009films The part which made me crack up xD

  • fuck off you capulet scum!

  • How can you understand Shakespeare talk?

  • @yumiulrich4eva The words are pretty similar. art = are, thou = you (for example: "thou art a villian" translates to "you are a villian"), etc. :)

  • God I saw this when I was TINY, on telly in the morning :)

  • Respond to this video... its awsome

  • what's the city's name where they live?

  • @backspage Verona

  • i prefer a diffrent version......

  • please help me with this question

"remind yourself of act 2 scene4 in the text and in one or more performed versions of the play, explore the ways in which Romeo and Mercutio are presented in this scene and elsewhere in the shakespere play, and in the performed version(s)

  • Why did his mask disapear?

  • this is aweful

  • Comment removed

  • can u believe it,Juliet is only 14!

  • @FateNJustice Back in that day, age was truly nothing but a #!

  • @FateNJustice actelly 13

  • i didn't understand a thing.

  • If I were Lord Capulet, and my nephew told me that the son of my arch enemy was at my party and saw him putting the moves on my own daughter, I'd yank him by his ear and boot him out of the house!

  • @Jakegothicsnake I guess he was too drunk to care..

  • @Shadowsama91 Ah, but we never see him drinking, do we? LOL

  • @Jakegothicsnake no because it's supposed to be PG but in the live action one he drinks

  • @Shadowsama91 PG?? PG my foot! In this series, there's a non-pornographic love/sex scene with Romeo and Juliet, in MacBeth, there's a shot of a boy's penis during a prophecy, and in Twelfth Night, the front of a ship has a woman with huge breasts on it.

  • @Jakegothicsnake idk then

  • @Jakegothicsnake So would I. But my English teacher said it's because there is a time and a place for everything, and Lord Capulet wasn't going to make a scene then and there at his party. And Romeo was also being well-mannered, so Lord Capulet wasn't just going to start an argument and throw him out. If I were him, I would not have had that much control over myself!!! Out the door he would go.

  • @Jakegothicsnake Not me.I would let the romance flourish and try to mend the friendship.

  • @Kitty8406 So would I, but being Mr. Lord Capulet, he most likely would not have that same forgiving mentality.......

  • @Jakegothicsnake You do have a point there.

  • FAIL.

  • I've seen several of these BBC Shakespeare Animated Tales, and this is by far the worst. It's a bit too silly.

  • 0:32 "GIVE ME MY LONG SWORD! HO!"

  • @1legomaster lol

  • :D

  • @1legomaster ok

  • juliet sounds like kate winslet

  • i think Rosaline is better looking then Juliet

  • @OneTrueLionessQueen We barely got a decent look at her!

  • this...is...CHEESY...

  • @nika4507 um...no offense...

  • cheers for this, helped me out with my english GCSE's

  • @HutchDano590 it ends sad:( They both kill themselves!

  • can someone pls tell me the ending? happy or sad???

  • I've been reading the original play by Shakespeare and everything went (almost) according to the play except one thing.....

    Where the hell is Paris?

  • Give me my long sword...ho.

  • 01:16

"And, Montague, come you this afternoon"

  • wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut

  • gosh i dont want to watch the rest! Its too sad lol i know the ending all too well

  • this is sick

  • she-looks-really-bad-in-her-hair

  • @ghostparanormal1 i know. it's like "oh!, look at me with my pink hair!" lol

  • Whe'res Paris in whole scene? :D

  • i enjoy old time animation as much as the next guy, but THIS! this is terrible! XP

  • the film is better.

  • the film is better.

  • I threw up on my computer when I saw romeo and juliet

  • Romeo's suck a perv! Juliet is only twelve! probably was fine back then but now ugh >.< first he had the hots for rosaline but she rejected him cause she went a nun. and now juliet and yet married the next day and they don't even know each other! the night after their marrige bangs her up and leaves without taking her with him!!

  • @rockinamber18 Wasn't she 14?

  • @ForTheLifeOfKinzi no she's actully 12 if you read the book. and she would of been 13.

  • @rockinamber18

No. "She will turn fourteen summers/ come Lammas-eve (July 31st)" quote the nurse from the original script. Juliet is actually 13 turning 14 within two weeks from the time the nurse speaks

  • if u like this listen to love story by taylor swift thumbs up if u agree

  • there's a romeo and juliet in anime right?

  • @ImTheStarTonight Yup, Romeo x Juliet but it's a little more different than the actual play.

  • this is great *________*

  • DOWN WIT THE MONTAGUES! That could be a rap.

  • I think this is a little bit inaccurate. Romeo didn't climb up the balcony and kissed Juliet during the Balcony scene in the original script, did he?

  • @reyesolivia5 I'm not sure. Although there is a painting on wikipedia that depicst Romeo kissing Juliet on the balcony.

  • sweetest movie ever !

  • some how i understand it!!!! lolx

  • I love the animation but... I just hate the old language. It's so confusing.

  • shakepears best!

  • I'm only 13 years old, but i think this is pretty neat so far! :D <3

  • the mask disappears by itself and appears by itself....!

  • the anime one is more nicer

  • I can't understand a word they're saying XD

  • Aww! I love Romance!

  • "give me my long sword, ho!"

  • marriage after a night? o.0

  • LOL at this

  • gayy x

  • Thanks for uploading this video. I need it 4 my class.

  • 6:00 is bad.

  • omj, this whole little cartoon movie thingy, is so weird, it's like freakin "Romeo and Juliet for Dummies."

  • i hate it when juliet killed herself that was sad :(

  • *SPOILER* "A plague on both your houses" technically isn't stated until Mercutio kicks it in act III.

  • Comment removed

  • they really cut out many parts in romeo and juliet.

  • @SugarpopD

Yeah, that's the down side of it...

  • Peace, Peace! Mercutio, Peace!

I loved how romeo said that LMFAO!

Thanks so much for uploading! Really helped with my class report.

  • juliet is ugly

  • amazing.

i nvr knew there were shakespeare cartoons.

  • Romeo Montegue and Juliet Capulet

  • Stop a minute. (soft! :D) I can't rmb who the heck are the Capulets and Montagues....

  • The Capulets and the Montagues were the familys that hate each other in the play. Juliet was a Capulet, and Romeo was a Montague.

  • we are learing about this in english x

  • @crazyvickyy1997 so i am i we watched this in english

  • oh my god its the one i saw at primary school :S

  • hahah i read the script and it the same so it funny repeating it by heart

  • My friend and I made a song about Macbeth for an english project. The class liked it so much, that they told us to put it on youtube. Well, we did. You should check it out on my channel =)

  • If u liked this i highly suggest that u watch the anime romeox juliet

  • I'm learning 'Romeo & Juliet' after the Christmas holidays! This is my favourite Shakespeare play of all time! Thanks for posting this.

  • My x-bf, my first love, I called him Romeo and he would call me Juliet! Thanks for posting, I love the couple Romeo and Juliet! So romantic and tragic they are!

  • haha no go 2 hell

  • My teacher will lend me this tomorrow, and the quality and sound syncing will be better. I just wanted to see Juliet with her hair completely out!

  • This cartoon version of Romeo and Juliet reminds me a lot of Edward and Bella, a random relationship that started with apperance...it does not make sense.

  • love it! so romantic but still a tragedy.

  • like it ^^

  • Why the voices are out of place? :s

  • Sorry for that. The DVD wont be out of sync, but do you really want to pay 10 pounds each? I can't get better than this.

  • @shakespeareanimated ~~~~Love Shakespeare!~~~~ <3
