  • “If you are Amish, please give us an update” Oh yes, I'm sure there are lots of Amish people using the internet.

  • @DVDluvr123 There actually are.

  • @DVDluvr123 My heart was in the right place, but you are right.

  • i dont think the amish have computers to give you an update. god bless

  • @gingerNproud1 My heart was in the right place. Actually there are a few who use it for business purposes but you are right, they won't be on youtube. I said something really dumb. :(

  • Just get the book "Amish Grace" and read it. Amish feel anger and hurt but they forgive as the Lord's Prayer tells them to. They believe they cannot expect God to forgive them unless they have also forgiven those who have trespassed against them. AMEN.

  • i ll do my best to keep you all updated. the book "the happening " tells n a good bit of detail of what happen that day n the days after it is a very good book i read it over n over.i was visiting this pass sunday with a family of the school and we talk a few mins on that day here being 2 years soon n people still caring n praying n helping the families say it touches them deepley to know people care n are praying for them.they thought they be forgotten n are happy they are in thoughts/prayers

  • *smile* Never forgotten. God's people pray for eachother.

  • @capt141stpa Did you ever heard if they made a movie about the school shooting

  • @jessejmorris2nd Yes, they did make a movie. It was on Lifetime a couple of months ago, and it was called "Amish Grace". It was a very moving movie. I can't believe its almost been four years since that tragic event happened. Does anyone have updates about the little girl who was in the wheelchair?

  • if anyone would like i ll try to keep everyone updated as much as i can. i do see the families a good bit and have mention about the concerns the families want to thank everyone for keeping them in their thoughts

  • I would like that alot capt. Do they realize fully the extent that people care? Do they realize they are still in prayers after all this time?

  • Hi River the 1 child condition will not get any better she will be confined to the chair and have tobe look after. all the money that was donated goes to pay medical bills help with trasportation and goes in to the amish community funds as well as the shooters family they have a fund for them as well the book the happening is a very good book today u wouldnt know the shooting has ever happen the town moved on but it will always be remembered

  • Capt, thank you for this answer. I was curious about the little one and how things were for her. Knowing that book sale funds will go to the right place, I will buy one. Yes, the town must move on, the families must move on, for time passes and the Lord counts our days. But loving our brothers and sisters will never cease.

  • I know this is a long, long time after you posted this video.. I live very close, my mother was actually there. I see some of the girls outside sometimes, laughing and playing. They're so strong, and so young! And to be able to forgive? Have you read the happening? It's a book based on the shooting. take care :)

  • I need to read that book, thank you for suggesting it. Does the money go to the community?

  • thank all those who have cared and showed concern

  • Capt, I hope they surely know they are not forgotten.

  • an update on the nickle mines community, i live close to the community and have friends that have shall we say ties to the shooting the familys are doing well they have their days like anyone would some have had more children the girls who survied have return to school only one has not and is at home still she cant walk or talk a new school was built and the kids have returned if u would see the town u wouldnt know anything has happen but the community wants to thank

  • Capt, thank you for the update. Is the little girl at home going to get better or is it a permanent situation?

  • sorry for the delay in getting back to ya the girl is not gonna get better she will be in the wheelchair for the rest of her life and will need to be taken care of . she cant speak and can only move lil of here arms n hands. on the 16th of aug i ll be visitin with the families and will let them know they are still thought about n prayed for things may seem to have moved on but as with 911 they must never be forgotten

  • Thank you for these updates - as the 2nd anniversary nears I think of the community even more. If there are still any needs please let us know. I had heard the fund was closed and any further donations go to the general fund.

  • Your very welcome for the updates if everyone likes i can continue to keep everyone updated. the funds have been closed and a new account was set up for any future contributions. the (NMAC) Nickel Mines Accountability Committee Treasurer Amos K Esh 959 Georgetown Rd Paradise, Pa 17562 is in charge of funds.

  • I didn't realize amish people used youtube. There's a couple of them on this message board.

  • Indeed, I was surprised too, David Lynch, it has been a way to teach many of us, don't you think?

  • Is anyone watching this that needs prayer? If so, please contact me.

  • Thank you for your video. I am Beachy Amish Mennonite here in Sarasota. I needed to be reminding of forgiveness today. These girls (2 of them) are the relatives of my friends here in our community. Thank you too for sharing of Elizabeth's story. She is a true Godly woman. Thank you for your Godly message. We can never hear it too many times.

  • Yzgirl, thank you for posting your personal feedback here. It means alot. When things make the news, it tends to slide away in people's minds after a while. I have found that this tragedy has not. People are still praying for strength for the community and families, who are still going through it all, even though it is no longer on the news. I hope the news reaches all in some way, that they are still being prayed for and have not been forgotten.

  • I was Amish, and have some videos related to it... This case was so sad, I could not in all honesty forgive like they did.

  • Thank you for such an honest comment, and thank you for leaving it here. This depth of forgiveness is... stunning. I mean, they were children. And girls!

  • I wont prey but i offer my full respect

  • Respect is a great thing to offer. They truely need that, it is so sad.

  • I'd like to think that this is a quality that can be found in any type of person, Christian or not. It's basic goodness and has been taught since before Jesus.

It's just so hard to put into action sometimes.

I don't consider myself "Christian" but I atempt to follow the teachings of Christ. Odd huh?

    Love you.

  • Here here Tushy, well said.

  • Human compassion takes all forms, indeed. Christ's teachings have much merit.

  • Christ's teachings were/are the pure truth.

His one commandment was "Love one another". If we truely love each other then we treat each other with kindness and understanding. It's so simple yet so hard to do, but so murishing to the soul when it can be achieved.

    Christ rocked muchly.

  • I will certainly pray for them. Certainly. I appreciate that you poSted thiS video up.

  • We are encouraged by God's word to overcome evil with good and I can think of no better examples than the things you have discussed in this video. I have no doubt that the actions of the Amish in this situation will help bring many people to the Lord

  • They are wonderful people...which is how much harder this is (((hugs))) Romans 8:28! That's my life verse.

Thank you so much for this wonderful reminder of the healing power of forgiveness!

    (((hugs)))

  • What the elder said was so selfless and soulful. Bless them. You have a great heart Riv. Peace & health

  • Beautifully observed Riv. The Amish Elder took his lead from the teachings of Christ who implored us to turn the other cheek and love your enemies. Of course we are human and we should never torment ourselves for natural reactions to losing loved ones. The fact that you are aware of a need to settle this in your heart with God is to me a most admiral and endearing thing to witness. Time and your innate honesty will heal the pain. :)
