  • good recording dillion.

  • when did they install these?.

  • @ricofojas2011 2002

  • That was an epic echo

  • Man what a long siren I also live here in oklahoma city those things are annoying every saturday afternoon lol. Awesome video on the siren.

  • Wow, that 440 hz tone really wreaked havoc on the drivers in these! At least Whelen didn't use cheap-ass drivers like Master Blaster and ATI use.

  • @dillonrockband I think i've seen these short whelens and some longer ones. they both have clean conduit boxes and they are solar-powered. i live near a nuke reactor in CA, and im by the coast. could you explain to me what the difference between the two kinds of these sirens?

  • @Crazymandarinorange These Whelen 'stacks' can be bought with 1-10 speaker cells, the more cells, the better coverage, and the louder it is. They make this option to fit for small or large towns, and for sirens that need to be added in for coverage. I think you're talking about San Onofre or something, and I believe they do have these, but I'm not completely sure.

  • @dillonrockband Yes, San Onofre has Whelens. Type in "SONGS siren test" to see :3

  • @dillonrockband I believe he is too, as I've been down that way and they have several 2805-10's in various places from Laguna Niguel all the way down to Camp Pendelton along the I-5. I drive through that area to get to my uncle's in Del Mar.

  • Wow, this is really low mounted, especially downtown.

  • What days do they do these tests I've looked everywhere on the net but can't find it and every time I hear a test I freak out.

  • @Janneson Every Saturday at noon.

  • Why did they send the signal twice?

  • @123Twisterman they send the start up signal twice because during a actual tornado warning they want to make sure every siren gets the signal cause after all whats the use of having a siren if it want sound

  • @21zachrwd I think you're pretty much spot on. Although I still don't know for sure. My grandma said she could probably get me a tour of the office and watch them set them off, so maybe I'll find out then.

  • @dillonrockband that`d be cool to see, Im just going on the fact thats what they do in Sikeston, MO they sent the tones twice. I wish Nashville had these

  • @21zachrwd

Nashville may not, but Murfreesboro does, at least MTSU's campus and Miller Coliseum do.

  • @Bororeed MTSU is the only spot in Rutherford County that has tornado sirens, and they just added 2 more.

Metro Nashville-Davidson County has 72 ATI sirens the Vanderbilt campus has a Federal 2001 and a whelen

  • @21zachrwd they actually added 4 more, one to each corner of campus (NW,NE,SE, and SW) and one more at Miller Coliseum on Thompson Lane, less than a mile from my house.

In addition, the old siren in Christiana is now back in working order after being silent for over 20 years or so. Murfeesboro seriously needs to invest in a system of FS Modualtors or these babies, just in Alert tone and not MTSU's Wail tone.

  • @Bororeed they did some improving than as i recall i think there was only one siren when the tornado hit on 09, they need to update the whole system though. I wish Nashville would order a real siren instead of the ATI`s

the sirens here "wouldnt be so bad" if they did something like San Fransisco ATI`s instead of the 1000 MHz tone. when the sirens go off here no one really considers is that a siren? especially the tourist

  • @21zachrwd Good Point because ATI is messed up. However with the San Fransisco sirens they are junk. The reason I say that is well simply put it San Fran has been having problems with the ATI even with the Federal Signal STL-10 tone on them. The tone is so low of a tone that the cheap speaker drivers blow out because of that. Also they haven't had to full functionality that they have wanted with the siren system they have.

  • nice echoes

  • Great video, and definetly a fan of the downtown setting this siren has.

  • Nice Whelen 2806!!Thats has a nice echo

  • cool! that had some echo!

  • Awesome recording! wow Did someone smash into the box?

  • @rhett443 No it looks like that because of the way the light hits it. That is the conduit part of the box
