Obama's Health Care Legislation, Can it help America's populous? American view point's need to be spoken!! Go to my you tube channel page and discover more
Listen this lady says that it's easier said than done onc3e you get to whitehouse and see how powerful people are and how much money they spend on getting power etc etc. She said that it's also about being reelected and I will tell you something... if Obama stick with what he's doing and doesn't listen Cenk and the american people frankly and continues to do what hes doing he will NOT be reelected.
"Stamp they're feet, hold their breathe and demand things"? Look, we aren't asking the dem's to throw temper tantrums, we are asking them to "grow a pair"! We wanted change, remember when the US stepped forward and elected Dems to office? well, what have they accomplished? Give me a f-ing break! we elected people to do right by us and instead, found that we have elected door mats!
ANY politician, judge or hack (TYT) who ignores the 9th and 10th Amendments and insists that the Commerce Clause and the term Necessary and Proper gives Gov't UNLIMITED POWER over We, the People are Statist Tyrants who are committing HIGH TREASON!!
They MUST be removed from power by using TRUTH to EXPOSE their lies. The 1st and 2nd Amendments exist so that WE can defend ourselves from STATISM!
NEVER give up you Constitutional Protected Natural Freedoms to Regressives and NEVER SURRENDER!
Interesting debate. I think they both make good points. I am disappointed in Obamas willingness to conform to the status quo. I think Ms. Clift was right also, in that political calculations mean a lot. Getting things done in Washington is not as easy as it sounds, unless you want to go the way of Bush and start breaking laws. I do think that the Democrats need to fight harder for what they want. It's a never ending story. No one really has all of the answers.
She really proves Cenks point. Conventional wisdom and Washington just don't care at all about what people actually think.
They know how much money they've raised, and they just ignore the polls, because hey, they have the money, and they've made a political calculation, and it doesn't matter what's happened recently or what the reality is, because they made a political calculation a long time ago, and they're going to win, because they've got money.
No wonder USA have suchs poor numbers in votingparticipant, USA is basically just a place you live to screw as many ppl as you can. I am very grateful I don't live there.
Not only is that a joke, Obama sent out an email to supporters boasting: "We will have beaten back the special interests who have for so long perpetuated the status quo...And the skyrocketing costs plaguing our small businesses will be brought under control." How pray tell (w/o public option or medicare buyin) he doesn't mention. He closes with: "supporters are signing a note of appreciation to all the senators who have worked so hard to make this possible. I hope you'll join them." I call BS.
He's taken his cue from wall street pretty well: Do one thing and claim credit for just the opposite. On the issues that involve big money (therefore lives and welfare of us citizens), health care reform and Wall Street, he's like a timid mouse. didn't really hear him squeek once for healthcare and didn't hear him squeek once against wall street...unless you count that pr stunt of a "meeting". Btw, let's not count blusterous smoothly delivered speeches of empty words and self acclaim as squeeks.
Regarding influence of money on policies i suggest everyone read "The Investment Theory of Party Competition and the Logic of Money-Driven Politics" by Thomas Fergusson.
That is what is worn with the system (and with Eleanor Clift). They think it is ok that the lobbyist has the right to influence policies. What did Obama challenged? Banks are stronger than ever, Insurance industries are stronger than ever. Also in the social polices he is not liberal. I think liberal made a huge mistake by throwing in their whole support for Obama without looking into his record. He has always been right of center on ever issue.
You may disagree with her thinking, but I think she really shed some light into the issue. I think Obama's mistake is that he was too good at convincing people he could bring real change.
meh, she just seems like a depressed person without any optimism, I'm sure if I'd seen the same bullshit for years on end, I'd only accept small change too
This is all incredibly frustrating to me because my country does 60% of our trade with the US. So if their economy goes down the toilet; so will ours.
Ya, either that or shes just not speaking up because theres no gain in it for her, I doubt she's stupid she knows whose fucked up in the HC debate, but she's got a boss, and can get fired.
That 'self fulfilling' comment really got to me. This is typical conservative (regardless of party affiliation) thinking. Don't acknowledge or discuss the truth, hide your head in the sand and things will get better on their own.
Knowledge is power, the greatest power I would say when it comes to society. This is the thing the people in power in this world understand better than anyone else. It's why they try to keep so much of it from us.
While I don't doubt the message, its not true, knowing is just one more step in attaining power sad to say it but its only a prerequisite for a different niche of power, how many of us can instill knowledge in a republican or someone whose completely devout in their cause, we can't it's not the end all be all.
Here, think about what it takes to get soldiers to die for oil corporations. A system of currency where the bankers get to loan money they don't have. A stock market where only the privileged get to buy the initial offering and trade after hours. People charged to literally add rat poison to their water. Ad infinitum.
Our society runs on ignorance. Our government and corporations aren't spending so much money on propaganda for fun. These are money people, they know how to get what they want.

"His goal is to get reelected". Well, guess what? He's not unless he changes his tune back to what it was.

When your argument boils down to "of COURSE he was lying...but look how bad the other side is," you're on pretty shaky ground.

I was just reading the Newsweek top ten predictions that a friend sent me. At first, I thought maybe it was a joke. But, apparently not.
That said, Reid and Pelosi are traitors to liberals. I don't know who they are popular with or why.
