  • My name is Mara, too!

  • ur amazing

  • when i get a horse and its not broken should i let the horse to sniff the saddle pad and the towel and the other thing i would put on the horse

  • @parker1061001 you want him to get use to it, so if that means he has to sniff it then yes

  • Omg I almost rode my horse thanks a lot!!!!!!!!

  • I love this video; it actually helped me a lot with my young project--even though she was already broken, she was a pansy about being touched where she couldn't see.

  • My horse would kick me if I rubbed all over him with a towel

  • oh i .. uh thot you were actulay guna "break" a horse..

  • the horse liked it when you rubbed his face with the towel!

  • This is okay. But guys! dont take this as the whole thing. There are a lot more things than just decensitizing it to breaking it in.

  • Great vid! Thanks :) I have always wanto to learn this and I don't have so much expeirience with horses other than with my best friends horse but I love them so much. SHHH Most of my friends would think I'm fag just for saying that but they truly are amazing creture! <3

  • @alexanderlacy totally agree. i love horses but i'd probably get picked on if I told anyone.

  • @alexanderlacy same here, i LOVE horses but my friends would totally htink its gay :P

  • thanks now i new how to break my horse in my dad opend a farm with alot of horses mine is brown

  • @odmcarp wtf is wrong with u!!!??????

  • @orcas12 who me? you talk'n to me. you know me? i know you, you know me. i i know somebody, who do i know?

  • @odmcarp ur comment on touching the poor horse!!!!!! WTF!!!!

  • @orcas12 what comment? i don't see a comment. what comment? do you see a comment? you might need new glasses, or a new hobby. try getting a job on a farm handling horses.

  • @odmcarp u dont see the comment because it was removed due to too many negative votes!! DUHHH

  • Comment removed

  • @orcas12 nope...i removed it. it was really bothering you, so i took it out of there. try not to sweat the small stuff. happy easter.

  • Very nice patting technique... Got me chased out of the yard... >.<

  • When she rubs him with the towel, he looks like he likes it!!!!!!

  • nice horse

  • This is more worthless information posted on Youtube by yet another self-appointed horse "expert". What can anyone who is inexperienced with horses possibly learn from this?

  • @gmd1417 an inexperienced person shouldn't be trying to break in a horse anyway

  • @gmd1417 a person who is inexperienced with horses would most likely never be in this situation anyway. But it could teach someone buying a horse for the first time or getting into riding who isn't that knowledgeable about horses, some tools they can use. I think this video can also teach/reinforce novice and expert riders on horse safety.

  • It is a fairly good video but you are missing several major points. Also you should never desensitize a horse while it is cross tied. It is far to dangerous. Also it should never be in a tight enclosed environment such as a barn. The horse should be on a lunge line and outside where there is more room to react should anything go wrong. These are both extremely dangerous to both you and your horse.

  • Why slap the horse??? It stings!!!

  • @rek2barb Not really.. Horses are really tough.. a little slap like that will be a small tap for them.

  • he is a beautiful horse

  • his ears kept going back, doesnt that mean hes angry or afraid?

  • @bobobobobob93 It means that he isn't comfortable with what is going on around him. We desensitive our horses every time we ride and now they no longer respond to it. I would recommend desensitizing the horse more.

  • @bobobobobob93 No, not all of the time. In this case he is just listening to the lady. Just like when you ride a horse, if their ears are back (not pinned back) it usually means he's just listening to you.

  • she's a little lost....showing how "not to do"

  • hi what it the max. height to be if you show a pony?

  • @PeaceLoveSaddlebred : not height, weight--no more than twenty percent of their body weight. If you have a five hundred pound pony--normally about eleven or twelve hands--you could be no more than a hundred pounds and expect it to perform safely.

  • @PeaceLoveSaddlebred 14.3 and smaller is concidered a pony any thing taller is a horse

  • people! never cross tie a horse when your desensitizing! i can be extremely dangerous!!!

  • why is he tied and in the barn? you should be holding him on a lead or lunge line and in an open space. what if he pulls? your both screwed

  • this was a really good video and thank you for wearing the helmet around a green horse

  • this horse is cute

    what his name?

  • I need to be broken..

  • WOW you are doing this inside a barn......jesus christ

  • GEORGIABATES:Licking and chewing is a sign of submission. Nothing to do with thinking.

  • well tbh dont be mean she is just doing what she has been taught nd i think it is good what she is doing and she is only giving you tips she aint telling you how to actually break in the horse so read befor u make a comment about her

  • @QuarterRicky lol i was saying that to myself too but it really does work , =)

  • so shes a expert so dont be mean

  • The way she does it is a GREAT way to get majorly injured! When training, always do it in a round pen and not a stall!

  • There are better ways to break a horse which makes it better, but it just takes more time & Patience

  • very good you know what your talking about and presented it well in such a quick video :) good to see your horse was licking and chewing, shows he is thinking :) good horse. nice video.

  • Ride the horse, that mofo will hop with 4 legs and have hanging on for your life lol

  • Thank you for wearing a helmet! Too many people try to do these things around a green horse, not prepared for what may happen if the horse spooks. As is likely to happen the first time you introduce something new.

  • thanks! now i no wu to do to brack in my horse

  • I have a yearling and we used his feed dish one time :P

  • ha and you say i can touch him any were and he just stands still right after he got spooked of you taping him on the hind quarters

    i lol at that 8:)

  • nice video :) im getting a horse and this was pretty helpful

  • i thought the video was great ! it doesnt matter how she speaks or whatever at least shes trying to help and if your gunna be nasty why dont you just say nothing

  • i think that most people realize you cant desensatize a horse to this in a day... shes just demonstrating what to do in the little time shes given to video it....

  • i can see this little girl having broken bones all over if she ever messes with the wrong horse...

  • i defently agree

  • if you are such an expert you would have known that she did not expect you to do this for just 1:49 dontcha think?

  • Although I also prefer the word train to break, that term is still in popular usage for starting an "unbroke" horse.

It looks like she's doing a great job, and this is just an introduction, after all. Yes, I have been doing this for 33 years myself, but just "doing " something for no matter how many years doesn't necessarily make one an expert.

  • some expert she obviously didnt meen do it in 1:49mins i really dont think you are an expert!

  • and that wasnt ment to the women in the video btw its aimed at froggie below me!

  • theres no 1:49

  • i ment 1:39 haha

  • ohh so now its about how she speaks?? gosh she is just trying to help people!! i beat you dont have a clue how to break a horse, you bitch!!

  • :| hilariouse bcz yur like such a shit speaker :P

  • i think your doing a great job!!! But one thing is that once you do something to the right side of a horses body... you also have to do it to the left =) thanks, Rachel

  • wow ever realized that you can miss spell? ya shut the fuck up

  • have you ever broken a horse in? because I can tell you it is alot easier jumping around the horse like this and then jumping onto their back so your lying across it and then getting off so the horse can get used to you weight being there. So many people just get the horse used to saddle and bridle and then mount the horse and it bucks them off because it hasn't been taught that people jumping around and on them isn't a danger to them and it isn't that scary.

  • like you should be talking, you spelled look wrong lol

  • a carrot stick is good too...the kind from Parelli.

  • The horse is SOOOOOO cute!!!

  • you are cool ;)
