Jacques Cartier never got all the way to Montreal, he got to Trois Riviaire, but couldn't bet further. And the British wanted New Amsterdam because it was a rich port city.

Us British did brilliantly in America, we was always on our own in the wars. Like the French and Spainish agents us, our 1 little country and yet we still beat them of, smashing them both. Did u see the map all go red, wow now thats what makes me proud to be British. Its a shame that our 13 collines then didnt want to be apart of the British empire. Tho I cant blame them doing it getting taxed by the Crown an all.
