After watching this trailer, I have come to the conclusion that this movie is a comedy. Would I be right to make that assumption? I love comedies, so I might check this one out.
must-see movie, watched it several times and still want to. the best movie for the last two decades to have so realistically shown the post-Soviet country's realities
Agree, part from the budget props and the awful soundtrack... this fill is sublime
its gritty, edy and the acting is spot on... the story line is so refreshing and unpredictable, embezzled with twists and turns that keeps the viewer engrossed.
if this had even a 1/100th of the budgets of big hollywood flicks.. this would be 10/10 move
@SuperJohnnyuk Haha I personally loved the soundtrack, I think a sad violin or piano sonudtrack whenever sad or disturbing things would arise would create a different feeling, instead L4E uses upbeat pop music (other than the ending / opening song) whenever Lilya is at the club or in the car with her pimp which creates a feeling of uncomfortability; this happy pop music going on the radio meanwhile in reality it's harsh and bleak
Is this movie in swedish? I want to learn swedish and I need to watch swedish movies (I know a little swedish, i think i could understand it with subs).
when i watched this film 2 weeks ago on serbian television i got so fucking angry when i saw the bastards RAPING her man. people like "vitek" and the bastard in the red ford must die
This is everyday reality.. People got to open their eyes to everything and help others, although that is hard too.. It's a cold and fucked up world but just saying that and ignoring won't make the evil go away, everyone of us who are capable to make things change, please DO IT.
It really is a completely different world in poor areas in Eastern Europe. I still find it hard to believe how people could treat each other so callously and brutally like Lilya 4-ever depicted. Maybe I need to step out of my comfortable and peaceful world and experience realities more.
I know a guy in the same situation as she, but it's real. My mother has been trying to help him for 9 years (!!!) without any luck. I don't know what to do or is there any hope. :-(
@sztriptiz I know what you mean, I am in a same situation, I cannot get a real job to satisfy my needs from college, no driving licence because they say i have nervous problems, anyway, i feel like everithing is closing in front of me, but i donot know why. There are many people in this situation everywhere in the world, eaven Us. People should work to have food and live, not to feed the government or the big companies wich take lots of money giving low quality products
guys. the german rock song which is a little like this... mine friende thingy. annyone knows the name of it? lol it is in the first part of the movie. and i think it is in the last part aswell
I saw this film today in school , and i`m sure , i will never see it again , i can`t ,it`s just too disgusting . Can`t beliefe that this actually happens in every "western" country.
This is such a good movie but so depressing, I was legit balling like a baby the last half hour. No movie ever made me cry that hard since American History X.
I am not a very emotional person emotions but this movie just made me scream in pain, I couldn't concentrate on any thing for atleast 48 hrs. The only time some thing haunted me for such a long time was the book "the kite runner" the kite runner adaption to the movie is a big failure.
One of the most saddest and contemplative film that I've ever seen. It is terrible to so live a life like Lilya. From the mother failed and sold as a whore. Unfortunately no single destiny!
i watched it yesterday. one of sad movie my ever seen. especially beginning of the movie when mom of lilia leaves her daughter . definitly here, the beautiful face has ugly destiny.
Stunning film. I too, made the mistake of seeing it alone at night. I have never ever in my life cried seeing a movie. This time it was imposible for me to hold back the tears. It just goes straigh to the heart
@Hello2950 It's worth watching because people MUST see this film. It's an eye opener and no matter how saw and strong this movie is, it's a must! I have worked with film and I have seen perhaps over thousands of films. But honest to God, none have been so strong and so powerful as Lilja. It litterly changes lifes, litterly. It is a very sad movie but I think you should watch it! No doubt, you have to.
@DariushUFC1985 pretty much sums up all my thoughts on the movie, i've tried to get people to watch it but its hard to convince people to watch a sad movie that will leave you depressed for days, but its a issue that people need to be exposed to
@XyourlatexwetdreamX The director is swedish and I live in sweden and he has stated in an interview that the original title of the movie is LILJA 4 EVER. So you and your actual dvd can both suck my dick, haha what a fag you are that get upset over an issue like this...fucking cunt!
@XyourlatexwetdreamX It does not matter what the title is , but what is more important is whether you got the message that this movie was trying to portray.
That movie really touch you and after waching this, you will have it still in your head. She is 16. Her parents leave her. Her first love sell her. The next man rape her and force her to work like a prostitute!... :(((
A truely amazing film, so powerful, so real!, i applaud lucas moodyson for this wonderful film, , such emotion, such powerful emotion, and i am huge fan of his other films too, such a sad story but unfortunatly for many young woman in the former USSR this is their life.
I saw this movie once. It was good, but I will never ever watch it again!! It was too horrible. Describing a reality that just shouldn't be...Very good acting, btw.
I watched it free on Love film. Very good. I have a few Russian/Kazakh friends and some moved to the USA. They were similar with their dreams but that changes.
hey guys, i just wondering to know, what sound is that? and i am not about "Double N - The Ride" part i just try to find the starting part.. enstrumental part is anyone knows about anythin please just give me that song's name..
It's done by Nathan Larson and is afaik written for the movie. The title of the instrumental track is "the bridge" and I also think it is performed by "fläskkvartetten"
When i watched this film first time, that film made me so sad. Like lilja 4-ever is only one film, which has put me crying, haha! I really love other Lukas Moodysson's films either, but that was really touching. Some people just cant find the happiness and things are fucked up. That's the way it is, sadly.
Unlike most people think, Lilja-4ever is not set in Russia, but Estonia. There are several references to Estonia (estonian money, Saku-beer etc). The problems described of course exist in all nations.
I grew up in this sort of environment, u don't feel safe unless you are at home. Now I live and study in Great Britain, people here are so relaxed and kind that it was strange at the beginning, but quite easy to get used to. I think that is one of the reasons why people leave their countries seeking for a better life in western lands, simply because life back home is unbearable.
Find Organizations that support preventing Human Trafficking - find it - join it - spread the message - IT IS PREVENTABLE! - each of us can do little - it will go a Long way! blessings. I.
ich finde es wichtig und gut dass über alle dinge die real passieren solche intensiven Filme gemacht werden damit allen die augen geöffnet werden. Ein wirklich berührender, tiefgehender Film über etwas dass jeden tag um uns herum passiert.
i saw this movie on one of the russian websites. The movie was really sad! i hope producers gonna make more movies that type of, so that young girls will watch and learn that they can't trust anyone today
the sad thing is girls (and boys) are being trafficked right now by sick bastrading traffickers who may rot here and in hell.
give the trafficked their freedom back!
lucas moodysson's portrayal of this sickening shit, and the acting from oksana and artiom are brilliant,it needs to be exposed, people need to be wide to it.believe me.there is hope for freedom.
its not a russian filme lucas modyson is swedish. he is great at what he does. made some movied before this one. but noone waches it becouse its not in english
This was the cruelest movie I've ever saw..I thought cases like Lilya's are far away from me,but with this film,I care so much now!I just couldn't sleep for 2days,coz when I saw it I was at her age&I felt everything like it was me!Great film!
After i watched this film last night i cried for about an hour... i don't know how anyone can watch this film and just walk away. It felt so real to me. I want to stop this sex trafficking shit. The priorities in my life have all been skewed.
same here...after i watched that i felt depresses..that im complaining about the life that i have and so is everyone else...when people in the world around us have it much worse..made me think more about sex trafficking and how the life of these people in countries like russia survive
yeah I couldn't stop thinking about this for weeks aftr i saw lilya 4ever...it eats at u. then eventually you realize there is nothing you can do, halfway across the world, you just forget and move on. saddest movie i ever saw, and not in the weepy tearjerker way...this movie is sad because it might as well be real. it is real. its happened thousands of times.
After watching this trailer, I have come to the conclusion that this movie is a comedy. Would I be right to make that assumption? I love comedies, so I might check this one out.

This was the cruelest movie I've ever saw..I thought cases like Lilya's are far away from me,but with this film,I care so much now!I just couldn't sleep for 2days,coz when I saw it I was at her age&I felt everything like it was me!Great film!

This trailer is much better than the older one.
And the film is simply perfect. In every single way
