  • Lol, I this guy, makes great guides. And even better comebacks to retards!

  • @Linkthe1st I do not want to fuck w/ u

  • What if i just took Inteligence to 10 and charisma to 4 and put the last point on Agility i want to more of a sneak guy

  • @OpsInChain You will still get the same amount of skill points he mentioned. Perception is just a preference, agility would work well with a sneak character aswell.

  • Do you also recommend a trait that was added with Old World Blues?

  • great quality

  • u have an awesome voice.

  • melle an unarmed

  • or 10 if legion

  • luck always at 8

  • it says on Fallout wiki that if you have Luck 10, all stats will be +5. Does that mean i only need to add points for something to 65, but 70 is needed?

  • Well couldn't we just raise endurance to like, 9. And then going to buy implants from that one girl?

  • @SirMuffin102 It will end up costing you A LOT of caps, probably caps your going to run out of quickly so you won't have all the implants you want till near the end of the game, which isn't very fun. So you would want to stick with 10 Intelligence so even if you are having trouble getting implants, you still have a lot of your skills raised.

  • thanks link for all the vids on the weapons! will you be making anymore? if so thanks!

  • Ur fallout 3 charecter guide was the greatest! it made me the strongest chraecter out their. but any way, ur guides are great! but the fallout 3 had bobblehead that raise ur stats. but in this game, they have magazines or IMPLANts , is their a way to get 10 int without useing all 5 SPECIAL points on int to horde the skill points.

  • Knowledge is intelligence, intellect is power. Yeees.

  • You have a amazing voice by the way.

  • You're amazing Link!

  • where'd you get that pistol at the start from?

  • @penzildude111 It's the 10mm pistol. You can find it on dead Raiders, Powder Gangers, Great Khans, etc.

  • @iiAOmegAii yeah it's a 10mm pistol. what actually made me ask the question is the fact that it looks brand new while every other 10mm in the wasteland looks like it was made before the war

  • @iiAOmegAii but forget it.turns out, it's the weathered 10mm pistol from the classic pack

so i'll just go and redeem that now.

  • do sneek attack cridicals depend on your luck?

  • mechinima DOES say 10-18 seconds for a intro, but i like yours. its ok.

  • note even at level 50 you are not psudo god unless you specilailsize

  • No point of having 5 strength if you're not planning to use close combat, which means that you can easily lower it to 4 or 3.

  • @einarsedzins

Strength is factored into whether or not you can handle each gun properly.

For instance if you have less than 8 strength while using the Anti-materiel rifle, you will get a penalty to damage rating.

You have to be strong enough to use each weapon to it's maximum ability.

  • Comment removed

  • @Linkthe1st

also it adds a lot of sway without the correct strength on any gun, but more apparent on snipers

  • @einarsedzins yes but 4 or 3 strength you can carry a lot less

  • This was really helpful

  • i most likly make someone using energy weapons then guns (pistals snipers, rifles) but i like having a higher luck since i kill things better... but eh dono what to do. lol

  • okay ur all right sorry Linkthe1st i guess being little cocky

  • Sweet intro man

  • also The small frame trait will help get the accevement perk that makes your limes not break quickly, then get the perk you said.

  • for traits I alway get something and wild waistland bacause it can get you some unique wepons and armor in the game that can help turn the tide, sometimes.

  • @wedonTheGamer

To get a lot of caps loot everything you can (unless your bad then take everything you see) everything that you see that is able to be looted including tin cans and empty bottles even though they're like half a cap they add up, I think at least half my caps have been made from tin cans and empty bottles.

  • can you remake a perfect character guide for someone with a level cap of 50?

  • @Linkthe1st Very good comeback. A very good comeback indeed.

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper

At least some of us can spell. ;)

  • Lol my friends a lvl40 Mesiah

  • This Helped me Alot thanks

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper

    ooohhhh!

Look everybody we got a real bad ass here!

  • @Linkthe1st

Sorry to disturb you, but would you be so kind to give me one or two tips on what should I do after the tutorial in New Vegas. I just got the game and I'm having a hard time getting caps, good weapons & armor. I've watched your Weapon Guides for NV but almost all the weapons are only accessible on high levels. (Forgive my English)

  • @Linkthe1st Uh Oh!

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper ign is where its at? ucking noob

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper i think ign has some great people working for them, and i do really like that company, and i am an avid podcast beyond listener, so i love ign. but that does not give you the right to take a shit on someone elses work, because i dont see you reviewing games

  • Zomg thank you for this video! It's really goin to help me, just got the game yesterday, so I'm gonna have a pretty solid character thanks to you! :D

  • Thank you for this very helpful guide!

  • Why not put intelligence to 9 and go to the clinic for the last intelligence point?

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper

Really? Well at least I know I'll be getting calls from all the girls you have sex with! I mean 32 seconds is just premature, and no woman would be satisfied with someone who finishes THAT fast!

No wonder my phone hasn't stopped ringing for days now.

  • @Linkthe1st Listen to your voice! Im sure you get any women wet from Hello! Hahaha

  • @Linkthe1st wow he just got pwnd

  • @Linkthe1st just ignore him.

  • Comment removed

  • @Linkthe1st fantastic combat!

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper Get a life

  • @TheOfficialDrSnyper Way to go partner!Show them how retarded you are ;-)

  • Is that the 10mm pistol?

  • Is that the 10mm pistol?

  • nice guide man.

  • I take all the points out of charisma, not really usefull since i can max out spech and barter. This way i have 10 Int and 9 Strength

  • @ivan3211 but you need charisma for some perks.

  • @MrJakeRobz Yeah i checked the perk list again and i think that all perks that need charisma are garbage. Take all them points of off charisma put 3 of those into strength and 1 into agility, and that would be all around better

  • @Linkthe1st Man i have epilepsy!

  • Awesme vid helped me alot thanks!

  • I think I need to get Fallout for PC. I played this video in 720p, and it looked amazing.

  • This video is very helpful. I am happy that you made the video.

  • Charisma is useless, just set it to 1.

  • sad face :( i dont have mw3

  • @picklenote22 ha poor ass crnt afford it lol or are you just a chrismas noob

  • @Burdonv 1. Spell right, you spell can't, can't 2. Nobody is paying me so i can't get it. 3. Do you just have no life taking your own time to try to rip on someone who doesn't have it or are you just so pathetic that you take your own problems out on someone else? Because it's just sad

  • @picklenote22 Sorry but this was not me, I did't sign out and one of my mate wrote it so sorry mate for that.

  • @Burdonv Oh, well it's alright. Just try to control your friend. stuff happens so its fully understandable.

  • Could you do a hardcore mode guide for Fallout New Vegas? Just a short tips and tricks video maybe? :) Thanks

  • Are you ever going to update this guide for all the DLCs? Or does this guide somewhat work with them already?

  • @AnxAsianxArmy

With all DLC the only way to end up with left over skill points is if you collect all skill books and use them before maxing your level.

Because the game is about doing what you want, and not what you're told, I stand by the advice in this guide, and not having to search for skill books.

  • Recently made a new character based off this video and found myself using energy weapons more then normal guns. Ammo is pretty much not a problem with being able to convert ammo types. All you got to do is horde virtually any kind of energy ammo and just convert it to your required preferred energy weapon choice. A good choice is Laser RCW seeing as when you convert MFC or EC to ECP you get ample ammo from it. (1MFC = 3ECP and 1EC = 2ECP) However will stick with guns to see how sniping goes.

  • can u make dlc weapon guide for new vegas

  • @jamiex61 there is a perk to be takn at level 26, that adds 1% exp gain per level. this is a great way to hastily finish out your leveling without wasting too many perks

  • A level cap of 50 nullifies most of the earlier problem with skill points. Are you going to change this at all to reflect that?

  • @daftPirate15 if you think about it, a max of about 800 points can be gained plus skill books for about 900. then theres the starting total of 100-150. this leaves you room to max almost everything exept fighting skills you wont use with a int of 10 and educated.

  • People you don't need guides to play games like FALLOUT series and TES.They are experience that stays with you your whole life!Play as you want to play.Make decisions which you would do in your reality.

  • accurate high volume fire is the best. melee and hand to hand is only useful when out of ap and the enemy is on top of you.

  • I like having intel and charisma at 9 each. companions are kickass in fights with high charimsa

  • u can get to level 50 now!

  • Intro blew my tits off.

  • Link Do a money guide for this game!!! also make a guide for perks containing which the best perks are for a first playthrough etc etc...

  • Why didn't you mention the swift learner perk?

  • @Jamiex61

Because it's a waste of a perk. You are limited to 15 perks (25 with all DLC), and swift learner serves no purpose once you reach the max level. There's no point in taking a perk who's bonus is nullified when you max out your level.

Therefore swift learner should only be taken by impatient, ignorant, individuals who only want fallout to be a fleeting experience that lasts 8 hours at most. And I do not endorse that train of thought.

  • @Linkthe1st may i just add Jamiex61 just got served well done sir that is just the point i try and tell people but as you said they only play the game for 8hours and then rage quit because they suck at rpgs also are you going to do a video for the rare DLC weapons?

  • @Linkthe1st anyone who uses the swift learner perk has to be nuttier than a big horner droppin'...

  • @Linkthe1st you are now my best friend :D lol

  • @Linkthe1st, now you are making me fell like a dumb ass. I took the 3 ranks of swift learner, still, I wanted to fully explore new vegas. The reason why I did it is to be stronger faster, now I feel liek an idiot :( even though (Without the dlc) Ihave already pumped 42 hours into new vegas.

  • @Linkthe1st I took the Swift Learner perk when I played the game through for the first two times, but realized very quickly how useless it is. The game is supposed to be about having fun, and that perk diminishes the amount of fun you can have. Another very useless perk is the Here and Now perk, for obvious reasons.

  • @Linkthe1st Hurrah! Well said! Thanks for the guide, really appreciate it!

  • What if I'm starting a new character with the level cap set at 50 from the DLC?

Wouldn't that make most of this pointless?

  • @Razpach0 nope

  • @bdsm08 Thank you for your completely in-depth answer.

  • @Razpach0 well you get max skill points every time level up the more levels the more you benefit

  • i find that the Built to Destroy trait is actually very good even without Raul (although i'd still recommend Jury Rigging :P) 15% faster weapon wear really means that a fully repaired 9mm pistol will fire 634 shots (49 magazines) instead of the original 745 (57 magazines) (all of this if my math is correct of course :P) which i don't think should be such a big problem.

  • Mr. Link, do you plan on making videos for Skyrim? (btw, love your videos, I can always tell you thoroughly research each topic.)

  • I did the math and with all DLC and my dude the way i made him hes gonna have 10 maxed skills >:O

  • Its not that hard to find ammo for energy weapons, just make sure to get ur science up if u tag energy weapons, that way u can take energy cells and make them into microfusion cells.

  • Small Frame is so fucking annoying. Don't bother.

  • You do voice overs? You should :D

  • go with this (my opinion) Strength 5 Perception 7 Endurance 7 Charisma 4 Intelligence 8 Agility 7 Luck 2 3 tag skills at beginningExplosives,Guns,Repair. 2 Traits-pick whatever you want i went with Four eyes, and Good natured.

  • In hardcore, cuz its funner

  • Im such a beast at this game. All i use is an anti-material and a lever action shotgun:)

  • @TheAwesomeTyphoon BUT wild wasteland removes a gous rifle thats better. Insane damage and scoped. Can be used both short and sniper range. It´s in my collection on my sniper character.

  • theres a lil mistake in the video. you said that taking the endurance implant doesnt increase the amount of implats you can take. thats kinda not true you can get the endurance implant pretty much for free as it doesnt interfere with u getting another implant

  • Trigger Discipline is a very good trait, More accuracey for all your weapons.

  • do a lvl 50 character guide (all DLCs)

  • Should I lower my luck to 2? Because I remmember that when I played fallout 2 luck never really mattered because I had my luck to 2

  • @ImmortalRoger

Luck directly effects how likely you are to score a critical hit, and it also influences how often you win when gambling in New Vegas.

These two factors make luck best left at at least five for most players, if not raised higher.

  • @Linkthe1st Luck also effects the minimum amount of skill points you get on every skill after choosing the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. statistics.

  • @ImmortalRoger I put my luck up to 9 for one of my playthroughs then went to vegas and got a truckload of caps. Depends on your playstyle

  • @ImmortalRoger luck is esential if u want to create a sniper character i have str 6, per 6,end, 6, char 6, int 6, agl 9, lck 9 its realy good

  • @ImmortalRoger luck and level 10 and guns maxed out is pretty deadly. tons of crits :D

  • i always find myself coming back to this video whenever i start with a new Avatar in the game. Thanks William & crew.

  • so, why isnt trigger discipline one of the traits to pick? it might make you fire slightly slower but it increases your accuracy.

  • If by any chance you have the Old world blues DLC the small frame trait negitive effects are comletely erased because of the spineless strength perk you get at the beginning of the DLC.

  • can you do a video on all the 52 magzaeins

  • lol

  • wait where the hell is that place in the beginning ive never seen it before and ive beaten the game several times.

  • @CalciteSage ... -_- are you blind? or you might have fallout 3 confused with fallout new vegas...

  • @CTW461 jesus man... calm down and i know where it is now...

  • @CalciteSage lol, i think you might have a little problems if you think i was angry i was simply asking a question...

  • @CTW461 sorry

  • @CTW461 i think he meant 00:40, dumbass

  • @samc4258 wow, lets see who the dumbass is after you ASK him what he meant and he says THE BEGINNING, bitch.

  • You should try to wait until all of the DLC comes out for F:NV just in case, because Old World Blues adds more traits that I think should definitely be looked at. (See Skilled) You should wait until the last DLC just in case other traits or perks are added into the game.

  • Its like Christmas came early when Link Realeases a new video

    Fucking 5* Bro. Good stuff!

  • actually unarmed is an amazing skill because the power that can be endowed. the crosses an uppercuts put great power in and the weapons have massive power. that and being completely unarmed like in casinos or dead money can be easier with the power your fists have. just saying. your guide is amazing tho and you do some of the same tings i do. favorites are guns, lockpick and repair so...yea i had an easy time with fallout lol

  • Thank you!

  • An interesting guide to be sure. It's given me some food for thought before I properly dive into New Vegas but knowing me and the fact I like to RolePlay in an RPG (gasp!) My main character is going to attempt to be a melee tank XD.

I'll definitely keep this in mind for my other playthroughs though

  • drop luck to 3 and get finesse later on unless you want to gamble a lot

  • Its Cpt. Foley from call of duty 1 :D

  • thumbs up if you loved being a super god in fallout 3

  • "Milay"?

  • What about the 'Wild Wasteland' perk? shouldn't that be a 'must grab' Trait?

  • @XTheFederation The YCS-186 says no.

  • you have a new subscriber.......

  • Can you get past level 30 on new vegas now? if so how?

  • @NinjaMaster6666 the big add ons

  • I think the wild wasteland is the most fun trait

  • @TheMongoose1996 I used too, but it replaces some rare armour, weapons and encounter's with things. So where the aliens would be normally without wild wasteland there would be a group of soldiers with a high tech gausse rifle :L..

  • speech or lockpick

  • hey i might be getting FO: New Vegas soon and i was wondering if i should get it on ps3 or computer because after i beat the game on computer i would have acsess to falloutnexus to see what kind of guns there are on there and i wouldnt with ps3 so idk what to do

  • Speech seems like the best secondary to me- since lockpick and science only really matter every time the skill jumps by 25 (as you said) while most REALLY important doors will have very hard locks, requiring max lockpick- when you could simply find an easier speech check to get the key. (ex: getting vance's smg) also speech can help you get out of combat and complete quests where lockpick would be useless- overall speech practically destroys lockpick when you consider the options.

  • 30 isnt the max cap is it? im level 34 on the ps3

  • @Divinedpk Check the date. This was pre-DLC, I'm assuming you've got either Dead Money, Honest Hearts, or Old World Blues?

  • @LeKieran i dont have dlc but its patched so i apoligize

  • plz reply is their any way to max out all ur characters special points?

  • ha! when you did the review of traits it just says hell! Oh and, old world blues adds new traits- the best trait ever= skilled. +5 points to every skill at the cost of leveling up a bit slower, still, it allows you to enjoy the game more- and provides your character with an added boost/ extra edge.

  • Dear linkthe1st

i just read in one of the comments i read that you a debaiting wather or not to redo this video. might it be worth to insted redo the video make anouther video were you explain what the new perks do and what the advantages and disadvantages are to choseing them.

hope to hear from you soon

    jack

  • *Sigh* Meta Game...

  • Anyone notice Cheyenne 's eye at 10:21

  • I chose the educated perk and it says for every level you advance you'll gain 2 more skill points. I chose this as soon as it was available and i made my intelligence 10 (I looked at your guide before I bought the game). Problem is every time i level up I only have 17 skill points. This really bothers me, why is it only 17? Please help.
