Tex Avery over at MGM, some 15 years later, would borrow much of the plot for his 1952 cartoon, "ONE CABS FAMILY". In the later cartoon, Junior IS a Taxi, but wants to be a hot rod racing car!
And junior doesn't learn his lesson in either short. In this one, he goes right back to the train tracks, in the latter, after he APPEARS to have chosen to be a Taxi, he lifts his hood to reveal a hot rod motor underneath.
Don't forget that she's "Streamlined",too. BTW The title open song, maybe due to Mills Bros. "racist" types, was cut out of 1970s Los Angeles KCOP-TV showings, thus making the relation of the title to cartoon odd for youngsters like me...this is a bit like Pixar's ":Car" [which I enjoy but this is the real thing!]
On the railroad tracks is the worst place to run out of gas.
