This is from a PBS bluegrass special done a few years ago. I stumbled on it one night and couldn't believe how good it was. It was so good, I phoned in a pledge to get the tape.  It was done at Ryman Auditorium and had all the greats. Ralph Stanley and Patty Loveless doing "Pretty Polly" was awesome, I think even Ralph Stanley was awed by Patty.

After flipping through a bunch of Patty videos... It's noteworthy that her singer (someone said her name's Carmella Ramsey), isn't a household name. Another great talent who probably deserves more.

I think she's fantastic (obviously Patty is too).

The fiddle player is Carmella Ramsey. She's a very talented musician who was in Patty's touring band in the early to mid 1990's. Check out some of Patty's videos from that time period, and you'll see her. She also played on some of Patty's recordings including the fabulous Mountain Soul CD.
