i would go for the T2i, it all has all the features of the D5000 and T1i, instead it has the same sensor as the canon 7d (which is a very high end sensor), also another reason you should buy the either the T1i or T2i is that is the lens motor built is in the mount allowing to use all the lenses that Canon make, unlike Nikon D5000 which has no motor in the lens mount which forces you to buy Nikon's higher end af-s lenses which have the motor built into the lens.
@someguy6481 if your camera does not have a built in motor the lens with be manual only and unlike canon. DX(cropped) sensor cameras can use full frame lens' and FX cameras can use DX lenses, and we have slightly more lens'.
I'd go with Canon. I think there are more lens for us Canon users too. I use a T1i as well. Good recording and decent photography. But that all depends and stuff.
