  • Amazing cooler, but i also use the OCz Gladiator for those mid size cases, it has 4 heat pipes instead of 3 and it also has H.D.T. it works just as well if you put on a nice 4000RPM fan

  • xigmatek hdt s-1283 sucks with push pins, its really very diifcult to attch it, but its fine with backplate and screws :) i love this cooler

  • i have push pins on my stock cooler its fine...

  • i got this cooler today and it was fucking difficult to attach to the mother board. it didnt fit!

  • If the fitting isn't connecting to connectors on motherboard, i suggest you to uy xigmatek or thermalright bolt thru kit(screws) to mount the heatsink. Many people reported the fact that it lowers temps but it's alsow easier to mount and it's more secure.

  • you have to read the fckn CPU socket types supported before you buy it!!!!!!

  • i did asshole, it just was difficult. the socket was the right one.

  • you could do all this, or just buy a retention bracket

  • True, it lowers the temps and is great to enjoy setting near the case and not worrying how will your next lan party ruin your motherboard :)

  • damn that thing is bending the hell out of your mobo

  • Its true. The only solution is bolt thru kit from Thermalright or Xigmatek retention kit, but until it's ok with temps, i'm good to go :)

It's all about the performance :D

  • i got this :D i need to remount tho, at 3ghz on a B3 Q6600 it is at 67C 80% load :S

  • B3 are alot hotter than GO but still 67 is to high.Your temps will drop if you'll buy thermalright bolt thru kit, i just did and if nothing else, xig is secure on screws, pushpins were really, ugh....crappy :)

  • wow dam. i just tried out Prime 95 for a minute and it sky rocketed from 50C idle @ 3ghz to 83C!!!!!!!! i am SOOO going to reseat it now. i will update once i have done and once i have benched it.

  • ITS ONLY 25C AT IDLE @ 2.4ghz!!! WOOH!!!!!!!!

  • That's should be correct yes :)

  • i gained about 5C from going from 2.4ghz to 3ghz, using the same voltage, i thnk i need to change some settings still. at 100% load on 3ghz i am getting: 67C, 66C, 57C, 57C

  • push pins are hard to get on and result is big difference in temps.Ok, you just reseated it so the TIM needs to settle down.Which voltage is yours? I need 1.325V after vdroop for 3.2Ghz.

  • ive always kept it a 1.3V...2.4ghz and 3ghz, neva tried 3.2ghz

  • um i actually think it is at 1 or 2 after 1.38750. i used to use 1.38750 but its near summer here.

  • Push Pins are the issue here not the cooler.

Use a roll of ELECTRICAL TAPE and put it under each pin you are pushing in...use a screw driver to ensure you can tighten the pin as you keep pressure.

    This prevents 2 issues.

1 you wont break your motherboard since the tape will prevent the board from bending.

    2. It will ensure its nice and tight.

I have a 1.325 G0 @ stock and my STOCK cooler does 40-38-34-37 idle and 60c and lower on highload in a 21c room aka 70F

  • woah NICE temps! I will see if i can get any electric tape to do that method soon, thanks.

  • I am sure you can use any tape...I just like the idea of using a tape made for electrical use...so if any gets stuck it wont short the board.

Still when I first ran into push pins my temps were mid 40s on idle...46-47c on hottest core so yeah I noticed a hell of a difference.

  • You could get more than 3.0 on that voltage :|

  • Hey mate nice video whats your specs? Q6600 B3/G0 and whats it clocked @?

Whats the idle/100% load temps also whats the room temp you got these results?

I am looking to get mine to OC my G3 @ VID 1.325v to 3.2ghz but I need to make sure before I buy...you know how it is.

  • q66 GO 3.2Ghz and 1.32V:

    Idle 34°C

    Load 62°C

  • Thank you very much :)

  • wow..i wanna get my hands on one of those too! what's the temp??

  • i got almost the same but its called red scorpion and i use 2 fans its awesome my e6300 3.2ghz idles at 29! and full load 46 when i say full load was 6hours of orthos and i used a bad thermal compound so i guess with a better one will go at least 1-2 degrees lower

and i use really slow fans 1500rpm the front and 1800 the back
