  • Titli you're hilaaarious lol!

WHY DID YOU PUT THE FORK IN THE BASE?

  • :)

  • great !

  • Unsurprisingly, I liked the part where you shot yourself. And licked the spatula!

  • Hey titli i made these today and it was my first time making any kind of dessert.I think this is good for beginers I had a few problems making the shortbread couldnt get it to dough up and it kept getting crumbly so i added a bit of water, they tasted ok in the end..thanks alot titli

  • Titli, you're my hero!

  • This is like my 10 video I have seen of yours- Just love you. Always amazed:)

  • Oh i know, i know why you putthe fork in the base(or at least i think it's because of this). It's because we don't want the dough to swell up.....becausethis recipe lookslike the recipe for puff pastry :P

  • when Titli said she was going to be naughty my mum walked in, and looked at me, and asked what was I watching until Titli started cooking ;D + I paused the video at the beginning when she pricks the base and I asked myself 'I wonder why she does that' then i unpaused the video and saw what she did:L Then i deleted my comment....

  • This recipe is great, you are full of charisma, (assuming you have children) they must have had a great childhood!

  • How come the caramel has dark bits? Is it nutmeg?

  • My caramel turned out super oily and the butter separated, why could it be Titli?

  • @Blanca85 :-o

  • @Blanca85 you didnt mix it enough

  • @Blanca85 it was too hot probably

  • In the intro, what episode do you use the chainsaw? It looks funny XD

  • @LittleMissAlleyCat Megachef Titli boils an egg

  • @TitliNihaan How about the clip before the cookie face? I don't ever recall seeing you dance like that in a video...

  • @KL005 look for her dancing chicken dhansak video!

  • This scared me for 101 different reasons.....

  • Why did you say not to use white chocolate? I've made it with white chocolate before and it's amazing! Much nicer than milk chocolate :)

  • @MissPopCake Each to their own...

  • @TitliNihaan What does that mean?

  • @MissPopCake It means if you really like white chocolate then use white chocolate :-)

  • Titli can I use ladyfinger or graham biscuits for this? thanks!

  • @miharu1925 Graham crackers might work. Ladyfinger might be a bit too soft.

  • omg I LOOOOVE YOU :D :D :D!!! i'm laughing so hard, you have an awesome sense of humor ;D and thanks for the recipe too :)

  • Just made these lovely caramel shortbread! first time making them and they turned out amazing!!! Thanks so much for the recipe!

  • Tiltli Titli!!!! Can i make a chocolate chip cookie base rather then shortbread?!

  • @Imac717 That might be quite cool :-)

  • Hi Titli. I made the caramel shortbread (Or caramel slice as we call it in Australia) yesterday and it turned out great! I realised leaving it out overnight lowered the 'intensity' of the base because it was almost uneatable after leaving it out overnight. Did I do something wrong? Anyway, thanks for ANOTHER great recipe! :-)

  • @trainfan761 Not sure what you mean by "the intensity of the base". Can you elaborate?

  • @TitliNihaan It is quite hard to explain, I (think) due to the high amount of butter in the base it tastes quite strong. So when I ate one the next day it wasn't as strong.

  • @trainfan761 Ah I see. I've learned that some people are very sensitive to the taste of butter. I think you did everything OK. Everybody's tastes are different.

  • A friend and I are going to try out some of your recipes next weekend! Do you have any extra tips for us, so we can be as MegaChef as you are? :D

  • @TotesBardas One simple extra tip: Don't rush. Just take your time.

  • According to masterchef's Michel Roux jr, pricking the base prevents uneven rising and stops shrinkage also.

  • What did I just say...PUNK! Titli is living the thug life

  • Hi Titli! I made this yesterday as a little pick-me-up before final exams started. My roommates loved it! Quick question though.. my caramel turned out with a texture more akin to fudge. Did I not cook it for long enough, or was it supposed to be that way. Either way it tasted great! Thanks for the recipe :)

  • @fondasaurusrex More like fudge? Normally that happens of you overcook the caramel.

  • @fondasaurusrex Wish I made them before my final exams! D:

  • i loooove ur recipes! ive tried so many of ur cakes already and they all worked wonderfully, everybody loved em :D ur my kitchen fairy!

  • takes me 20 seconds to like this clip

  • titli , what were the little black pieces in the caramel because i really want to make this but i need to know first :)

  • @Sinead201010 They are little flecks from where the mixture caught slightly on the bottom of the pan. Nothing to worry about.

  • ALSO, ur just FUNNY xD

  • WELL, I have to say, that out of the few food peoples that I watch here on youtube, you are one of the best :D ... Only because well, my little sister introduced my family to your videos and we think your great, no JOKE :) . And I subbed to you so I can keep getting good vids from you, and I wish you the best of luck with your future videos... Keep up the good work k? ^_^

  • @thething91 Thanks "Thing" :-)

  • this is absolutely beautiful. i followed ur recipe and it turned out great!:D Thanks Titli.:)

  • You legend.

  • You may know this but you prick the base with a fork to keep it from forming bubbles of air when it bakes. Kind of like pricking puff pastry so it stays flat.

  • Om nom nom. I made this yesterday, omg soo scrummy and sweet!! Thank you for this recipe :)

  • Thanks for this titli!

What do you mean by sludge? I wasn't sure about that...

than after cooking the milk sugar and butter mixture for the caramel

it started separating in the sugar milk mixture and the butter started floating on top...

Any idea what went wrong or what i did wrong?

  • @WinkyGirls That happens sometimes. Just keep whisking and it should all blend together.

  • @WinkyGirls Sludge: The sugar hasn't quite dissolved so it looks like a thick slurry.

  • @WinkyGirls You can use Dulce de Leche, all you have to do is heat the caramel and pour it over the baked shortbread base. It can be found in some grocery stores (La Lechera, Dulce De Leche, 13.4-Ounce Container...Nestle)

  • I was wondering if you can use evapourated milk instead of condensed?

  • @LoveforAllaahx Not enough sugar in evap milk, methinks

  • @LoveforAllaahx . You can use Dulce de Leche, all you have to do is heat the caramel and pour it over the baked shortbread base. It can be found in some grocery stores or walmar (La Lechera, Dulce De Leche, 13.4-Ounce Container...Nestle)

  • LOL you're amazing! You look like one of those Psychoville characters!!! :-D

  • you make me laugh so much! :)

  • you make me laugh so much! :)

  • ms. titli, you crazy xD

  • Oh man! I laughed sooo hard at the opening!!! I had the earphones in and my husband looked at me like I was crazy! I said It's Titli, and he just shook his head, oh well, he's Scottish, what can I say. I will say - I'm making this recipe! :)

  • is it a scottish recipe ?

  • This is soooo crap, this person obviously does not know how to cook, what a disgrace. Now that i've got your attention, Titli can you make a chocolate bread & butter pudding, faluda and or chapli kebab thank you... :D

P.s. Your cooking is amazing lol... Jazak-Allah

  • Considering Holidays are very soon, Seems like an AWESOME idea for me to make!

  • do these happen to taste anything like a Twix bar? (do you have Twix across the pond?)

  • @abbeykins4ever They are a lot like a giant Twix!

  • So Titli, why did you put the fork in the base? Hahaha. Thanks for the laugh. I think I will make it with dark chocolate.

  • So Titli, why did you put the fork in the base? Hahaha. Thanks for the laugh. I think I will make it with dark chocolate.

  • do you that i love you ^^

  • you're a complete hoot. dig your humor.. makes me smile. and the recipes are paramount! deliciousness!

  • Would you like some bread with your butter and sugar?

  • @TitliNihaan If you think this is naughty, you should google snickers pie. It is the most calorific dessert I have ever seen!!! (Personally, I only ate it that one time before I knew it had about 4,000 calories per two slices...I am afraid to look at it now...

  • Absolutely lovely ....and naughty lol

  • I wonder if anyone helps you duringe these videos...because I would laugh so hard!

  • hahahah hilarious video

  • Titli! Titli! Can I use a plastic fork??? This sounds really good!

  • @Johnmartine63 Plastic, wood, metal, rubber, even deer antlers would work.

  • Titli! Titli!@ Can I use a plastic fork??? This sounds really good!

  • Titli! Titli!@ Can I use a plastic fork???

  • lol :') Love her, wish she was my mum xD

  • So a carnival is coming up this Friday I went there to check if there is funnel cakes and guess wat there wasn't and did u no that people really use funnels to make them it's simple who goes to a carnival with out the funnel cake tats not the spirit

  • @NickiaNokia I think it's disgraceful

  • foood gasmmmm...oh yes baby

  • LOL

  • Titli, my chocolate is nice and hard.

  • Oh Titli, why do you not gain weight? I live for puddings, but gain a stone so easily. Right now I am off all puddings which is a pity as I am on holiday on Amsterdam and the bakkeries are lovely.

  • Can I use chocolate powder: Add water and sugar and then spread it on Caramel?

  • "Millionaire's Shortbread" sounds a little bourgeois to me. We may have to organize a sit in.

    #OccupyTitli'sKitchen

  • @JessLovelyTranwreck Oh no! Will I have to cook for all these people who are now sitting in my kitchen looking hungry?

  • the reason for putting the fork in the base is for the gluten that is in it should not stretch to much

  • Titli, will I still be able to cut it out in squares if what i'm gonna use to bake it in isn't detachable from the sides?

  • @SunnyMuffinsRox You might want to think about how you are going to release the shortbread from the tin...

  • @TitliNihaan If I use a knife to run through the sides of the tin will it come out you think?

  • @SunnyMuffinsRox It might be easier if you line the tin with baking paper. Run two pieces in a "cross" pattern to the full height of the tin.

  • yummyyyyyy

  • titli! titli! why did you put the fork in the base?

  • Titli wat if you don't have caster sugar can you use granulated sugar instead

  • @NickiaNokia Yes

  • VERY NAUGHTY GIRL ;P

  • Some recipes shouldn't be invented....this is one of them. Now I have to cook this for my wife

  • are the Christmas recipes coming soon?

  • I'm a short, red headed elf! You have improved my ancestors recipe....One of us?

  • this looks soo yumm!! will try it very soon. Thanks..:)

  • evil in it's purest form...

  • Naughty, Naughty Titli, you need a spanking with a cake mix covered spatula, yummyliciuos

  • Hahaha hell yeah ^^

for those asking, the holes with the fork are made to avoid big bubbles forming under the dough and warping it.

  • Titli, is there a no bake version of this? I like to make this but I don't have an oven :(

  • Titli is there a n bake version of this? thanks! I love your videos! I'm addicted to it @_@

  • Your hilarious!!

  • Titly baji...I am gona disconnect my internet conection and what I would miss most are your videos...

  • @harappa111 I'll miss you too :'-( *sniff*

  • yummmmmmmm

  • Too much modern warfare :)

  • anyone keep thinking of the austin powers scenes when she says "naughty"

  • Hi Titli, your caramel shortbread recipie reminds me of a candy bar we have here in the US...Twix Bar...same ingredients..shortbread, caramel and chocolate...its so yummy but Im going to try your recipie for the holiday. We just made English Toffee over the weekend and it was da bomb!! Love you and your great vids...cheers!

  • @lfratice Actually, the Millionaire's Shortbread recipe has been passed around before Titli made this video! Go ahead and look it up on Google. It's everywhere!

  • @VanillaAnimations It's as old as... er... shortbread probably!

  • what a naughty video!

  • The reason you poke shortbread with a fork is to allow the steam to escape from the dough as it bakes. This is part of what helps create that amazing flaky texture that we all love so much in shortbread cookies. Without the holes, the moisture that escapes with the steam is retained in the cookies, making for more of a soft, less crumbly result (still tastes great, but not quite what you want a shortbread to be).

  • LMFAO!!!! The gunshot scene! BEST EVER Titli! OMFG! AHAHAHAHA.....I fell out, had to play it 3 times!

  • Just subscribed, great channel Titli! :)

    Cheers!

  • ok guys i ge putting a crew together we have to kidnap and make her cook for us

  • I have to make this yum, I love this stuff

  • titli title why you put the fork in the base?

     :-)

  • OMG IT'S FANTASTIC!!!!

    Elena :)

  • Titli can you please show us how to make Syrian bread?

  • Titli!! Titli!! Can I leave the butter out of the shortbread and caramel? (;

  • Titli could you please show us how to make Syrian bread?

  • I know why you use the fork on the shortbread, it allows the steam from the dough to escape so the dough can completely cook. Otherwise it does cook all the way through.

  • I remember buying this in Scotland. It's so sweet, my teeth ache just thinking about it!!

  • Titli, I spotted dark bits in the caramel-what were they?

  • @consolida84 If your caramel stirring is not 100.0% perfect you'll get a hot-spot in the pan and the caramel will burn slightly. It only takes a tiny spot to put little flecks in the caramel! They don't affect the taste, unless you REALLY burn the caramel.

  • Mmm mmmm! Looks delicious!!

  • Titli can you make a Bread & Butter pudding (maybe even a chocolate version)...

  • Titli can you make a Bread & Butter pudding (maybe even a chcolate version)...

  • I'm loving this so much.

  • Why you put the fork in the base: if you don't, the dough will bubble up when baked.

    Greets from Heidelberg.

  • Where are you living titli? Ive just noticed the condensed milk comes from a french Supermarket "Carrefour".

  • @sosoh91 It's an old tin I brought with me when I moved from France

  • @sosoh91 Carrefour Markets are in few countries over the Europe :) not only in France :D

  • Titli! Can I use a round baking tin instead? And on a more serious note, condensed milk is the sweet one or the one that has no sugar in it? Thanx!

  • @Aranel The sweet one

  • hahaha ur funny

  • i'm glad you don't use fancy toys like other youtube chefs, i only have a conventional oven and a whizzy toy, you can imagine my horror when the recipe calls for melting chocolate in "THE MICROWAVE" dun dundunnnn! also, please don't shoot me, but what's the difference between castor sugar and normal sugar? i bought a package of castor sugar from the baking isle but the sugar inside it was exactly like the sugar that came out of my normal sugar bag D:

  • @renoa0heartilly Caster sugar is normally finer than the regular sugar

  • @TitliNihaan Would that be powdered sugar here in America?

  • @Coelacanth1938 Probably!

  • @Coelacanth1938 In the US, look for "Super fine sugar." It is finer than regular sugar, but not powdered.

  • @Coelacanth1938 No!!!!

  • i love you titili

  • naughty naughty cook : P
