Thanks Doctor, this is, without doubt, the best video I've seen on AF. As a LONE AF sufferer I appreciate your efforts! I am 53 and otherwise in good health. I don't smoke and exercise regularly but the episodes seem to be on the increase and are very symptomatic. At the moment I'm on 25 mg of Metropol as required and this often works. Reckon I might consider an ablation if the episodes continue though. Many thanks again Doctor, a great piece of information you have given us. Cheers...Larry.
I'm in Australia, had years of palpitations, tiredness. FINALLY got a Holter Monitor. Doc said I had a Fluttery heart. Different doctor says he was amazed that I was never told it was Atrial Fibrillation. Today had one episode whilst on the phone, I couldn't speak, and it hurt! Worst one yet! I am disappointed that some doctors treat this as a 'normal' event, and others, like yourself, see it as a bit more serious. Sure, I probably won't drop dead from it, but it does impinge on my life.
i get these attacks also. im 33 and i have to avoid alcohol and caffeine even choclate can set off an attack. the last time it happend to me was the week before christmas and i was hospitalized with a heart rate of 170. they slowed it down with an injection of a drug called betalock, however it was several more hours before my heart went back to a normal rhythem..try the ablation op it may work for you.
focsaks ask about a cardioversion first maybe you might be better of for the the first attempt to deal with af ,,and you may stay in sinus with a cardioversion .. a ablation should not be your only option ..
Thanks so much for posting this, I have Afib and it is starting to rule my life, I am on beta blockers and asprin, still thi isnt helping as far as my comfort level goes, glad to hear there are options for me....
These videos have been very informative. I've had afib for 4 years and it has a big effect on my quality of life. I am very symptomatic and have daily episodes lasting anywhere form a few minutes to 12-16 hours. It is good to get some no nonsense information weighing both the pros and cons of drug therapy and ablation. I wish that employers, and doctors understood what afib sufferers go through.
thank you for your answer. I'm going to see my doctor next week. I've read a lot about arythmia on the net and now I'm not so afraid as I was. I'm also trying to change my lifestyle to more calm. anyway thank you very much.greetings from poland :-)

I don't know what that means.I can hear my heart beat all the time. After the abortion I'm very nervous.Could it be the reason? Or maybe the Milwane pills because I felt terrible when I was taking them, so I stopped.I smoke but I'm gonna quit. Please help me because I don't know what to do.Greetings from Poland.
Thank you for your question. To determine what your holter monitor findings mean, and what you should do, requires all of the relevant medical information, including a physical examination. Therefore we recommend that you see a physician in Poland.

Thanks doctor.
I've had three A.F. attacks over the last 12 months. They just come out of nowhere, and they're REAL scary.
I'm on a low dosage of beta blockers at the moment, but I'm nervous all the time, not knowing if and when the next attack may hit.
I'm going to talk to my doctor about an ablation.
