Thats a black marlin caught off the zane grey reef in panama - it was 1300 pounds guy harvey tied in two rods to finish the fight so the fish could be released fresh - the fight still went over 4 hours

Recent studies indicate that delayed mortality is much higher than previously thought. Just becuase they released it doesn't mean shit! The build up of lactic acid in the fish - due to the stress of the fight can kill it! The fish is very likely to get hit by a shark too - after release. Fishing is a blood sport - don't kid yourself!
