@WellIAMScottish agree it was incredibly stupid for the Saddam regime to invade Kuwait over energy when Iraq has a desert full of solar energy which is free. All they have to do is invest/build the infrastructure which would have been much less expensive than war. Saddam's regime got a lot of people killed and it cost him his life at the hands of his own people. None of us would be having this discussion if Saddam had chosen innovation to solve Iraq's energy issues.

Who do you work for if your tax dollars are going to pay interest to offshore entities? Is opium and cheap capital financing the war?
