oh great xodilla, ime looking to get into throwing knives as well. what do you recommend for us noobs? ima chick who doesnt carry a purse. i know they have many modes of carry depending on the style of knife. by the way, ime a cold steel gal from waaaaay back. oh, and ide like knives, not the stars etc...thanx a bunch punkin.
one thing i notice with your throws your follow through is mild....when i no spin my follow through is very exadurated like im pitching a baseball also im throwing gil hibben gen.2 7-1/2 blades
Unfortunately my 100 pound draw Welsh longbow has better accuracy and more power from about, hhmmm lets see roughly 163 times the distance you were throwing that knife. Let's see you throw that knife through a person wearing full plate armour with Chainmaille and leather padding underneath... If you can do that then I'll be impressed.
@Xxsuperninja92xX kinda hard for a gal to carry a long bow in her purse, backpack or inside a jacket. ime sure she could tell you to meet her in clothing store and whip out your welsh longbow from underneath your jacket while pulling out an arrow, draw the arrow and try and impail her before she unleases at least 3 knives at your upper body. now, long bow is great for hunting...personally ime looking at trying traditional recurves. my bro wants long bows. any suggestions for him?
Oooohhhh. I've been doing this with the single throwing knife my dad found. I'd been throwing it strait like that but I couldn't figure out how I was doing it :P Now I can do it when I'm paying attention! :D
Thanks for the info... We are headed to the smokey mountain knife shop today. I am buying my wife six blades and we will practice together! Thanks aain
@ThExWhItExHeNdRiX Works with smaller ones as well, but I prefer the larger knives. This technique works esp. well with bo shuriken-- watch my video "Throwing Flying Steel" and "Breaking in the New Zombie Targets" in which I throw 6" shuriken. Good luck
no spin works best with senbon or bo shuriken. for the knife you have i would stick to the spin throw. although, you could invest in some narrower knives but they would have to be double edged.
I had always wondered if this kinda thing was really possible irl! Many thanks for this info Xolette! :D
Question: Can you do this kinda Throw at all Knife/Dagger Throwing Ranges, or only some of them? I'm big on Ninjas, & had always wondered if this kinda method of Combat was practical for them irl. :)
If your ever in the austin area and want to do some good training...let me know. We do it all, h2h, weapons, modern and historic, tactical firearms, survival training, ect.
You're awesome! Thanks for the informative video AND showing me the type of woman I should really be looking for, I appreciate it. I feel like I can see for the very first time haha
I prefer to throw 9mms, but I was wondering if you would like to travel the world with me learning martial arts? Lets start in Beijing with Tai Chi Chuan. Say in a month?
Isn't this just a slower spin? I mean you couldn't really throw at a paper 10 meters away, go perfectly through and stick in a piece of wood another 10 meters behind the paper. That would be a no spin flight.
@mrkiky Yes. "No spin" is a misnomer. It's more like a quarter spin. When you compare "no spin" to traditional throwing, you could see why it's called "no spin". It's quite the opposite because in traditional throwing you rely on half spins, full spins, etc. With no spin, since the spin is quite slow, you don't have to worry about the knife spinning until much further away, whereas, with traditional throwing, you are always conscious of the spin at 2 m, 3 m, 4m, etc.
@Xolette That's what I thought. So what would you say the optimum distance range would be for this kind of throw? I mean, where the knife sticks +/- 45 degrees from vertical.
@mrkiky 6 to 9 feet depending on your throw. If you watch some other throwers who do long distance throws like MrM00Mz and HouzanSuzuki and knifethrower72194 they can show you the technique from farther away and how far you have to be before the knife fully spins. Good luck!
i love the idea that there is a smoking little hottie who is a knife expert!!!! if apple sword slashing sounds cool too, check out my NEW youtube video "KATANA APPLE CUT"!!!
Veddy nice! Works with screwdrivers too. I learned it through countless hours of boredom. Keep a rockin, and yeah, you are pretty attractive :) Just gotta say, but I know you're showing how it's done, which is better!
thanks i used to throw from the blade and stuck it in at an inch at most now i don't have to worry about spin and can actually do decent damage with it (i still think hatchets are the best throwing weapon tho lol)
@Xolette ask michael about shurikan style knife throwing. It is a lot like the no spin style, but you get more power and more distance with smaller knives.
@Revulashyun Watch my video "Spin vs. No Spin" and I talk about the mechanics of spin throwing. One thing for sure, make sure your throw is consistent. Jack Dagger's Knife Throwing 101 DVD really helps too
@agjld7 if the technich is correct the result of the impact is just as great if not better. Putting to much torch or muscle into a throw results in lack of accuracy.
Thank you for showing the no spin throw.. The last part with the pointy finger used to stop the spin really gives it all away. Thank you so much. You are beautiful and deadly. XD
Is this really any different from quarter spin? i can just about stick anything at 10 feet. but once i go longer than that it'll start to rotate. any tips on how to stay straighter over a long distance?
@CerealMunchkin No-spin is a misnomer-- it's actually a quarter spin, like you said. But actually no spin is actually just a very slow spin. At some point, your knife will do a full spin-- I believe it's at 15 feet? To get it to be straighter, you have to have a more "lobbing" type of throw, which I haven't mastered. Check out the following channels: HouzanSuzuki and MrM00z Good luck!
The cutest lil ball of danger I have ever seen :) It's awesome that you throw so well after having learned that technique earlier that day. Your instructor should be immensely proud and so should you. Most people seem not to be hard wired to pick up martial techniques that quickly.
@jabara83 No spin should be relatively simple from 3 to 9 feet...around 9 feet, it might start to spin and you will had to adjust to throw for a more "lobbing" technique-- but in any case, at a point (I think its 15 feet?) it will spin. Check out HouzanSuzuki's channel and MrM00z-- they have some videos showing their long distance throws.
I enjoyed this video. I've been throwing knives for a long time. She's really got a knack for it if she just learned that particular throw earlier today. Plus, she's really cute.
