  • Patiot prepper? you sound like yankee preppers little bitch

  • If your grouping is that good at 200 yards how good is it at 300 yards with that gun?

  • Savage makes great rifles. I miss my 110 savage silouette rifle. If a person works a bit on the trigger assembly and details the beading for the floating barrel they rock past 600 yards. Thank you so much for this vid.

  • @spectralmunchkin The accutrigger is a great trigger for a stock rifle. They have improved it and it is flawless and adjustable. The HS Precision stock is aluminum bedded. The McMillian stock might need some bedding help.

  • Will someone please tell me what kind of Scope that is

  • @treverlid87 It's a Super Sniper 10 x fixed power by SWFA. The scope has been replaced and will be replaced again soon. The Super Sniper scope is a good durable and reliable scope for the money. Decent glass.

  • I have the same rifle with a short barrel and I love it. Great trigger and very accurate for the money. Even with the short barrel it is no problem to get good groups out to 600 yards.

  • I'm confused... It's a sensational rifle.. but only good for shooting things 300 meters out. For personal defense I'd think you'd prefer more capability to sling lead at close range. That rifle is great, and I'd like to own it, but I don't see a personal defense or home defense application.

  • If Anyone Is Interested In 10rd Magazine, For A Savage Rifle, I Recommend DarkEagle Customs Or Check Out, darkeagle10x's channel.

  • Should you always have a dummy round in the chamber when you dry fire?

  • @InfraRedNeck Yes, I always use snap-caps when I dry fire practice.

  • you seem like a great person! Love your savage. Im really looking to build a long range rifle in 300 win mag or 338, but I think I may just build a 308. The 308 is such a versatile round. I have an ar10 (thats why I was thinking of building a bigger caliber because I already have a 308) but now Im thinking of having a close range battle 308 and a mid/long range precision 308.

Id love to get a mcmillan tac 308 but they are so expensive. Im gonna start looking more into the savage

  • @freestylmx311 Thank you. I have several .308 rifles in the AR platform. I like the compatibility of using the came caliber with my precision Savage. I also have a Savage 110 BA in .338LM - I skipped the 300 Win Mag and went to the .338 - I am really pleased with both the .308 and .338. There are some great rifles in .308 - Mcmillian, AI, Sako, Surgeon, Timber Wolf, etc. But for the money, at ranges of 800 yards or less, the Savage is an incredible weapon. I recommend it - at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost.

  • @PatriotPrepper

Have you looked into the savage 110 fcp hs precision? I was looking last night and Im really digging the 110 fcp hs precision 338lm

They also have the 10 fcp with the mcmillan stock which I really like. Im glad I saw your vid or I dont think I would have really looked into these rifles.

I was originally going to build one or buy the Sako trg, but I think Im going to go the savage route for now because of cost

I really like that 338 LM HS Precision model

  • @freestylmx311 Yes, I have looked at the 110 fcp hs p 338 - it's a new model. I already had my 110 ba. The fcp model is lighter and shorter so it is easier to carry around. It also costs less. However, I prefer the heavier BA, I believe it is more durable, and has less recoil. But I am only guessing and time will tell. Ammo prices for the 338lm are expensive, between $5 -$7 per round. I recommend reloading. Also you need plenty of room to stretch it's legs - 800 yards or more - a 1,400 yd gun.

  • I have a Savage 110 FP in 7.62X51 AKA .308 Win . I like the long action because it will handle the large cartridges, I want to change it a .338 Lapua Mag. The Savage are easy to change calipers, because it's easier to change barrels.

  • @TheXR750 I have a Savage 110 BA chambered in .338 LM and love the gun. You are right about the ease of changing calibers and barrels. The .338 is a lot of fun. Thanks for your input.

  • @PatriotPrepper Yeah I'd love to get a savage 110 BA But unfortunately I don't have it my budget. I'm going to change Barrels to get my .338 Lappu.

I sure would like to see a video of your 11BA.

    Joe-R

  • @TheXR750 I will try to get a video out in November. I travel too much during the hot Florida months and have little time. Hope to make more videos soon.

When you get the barrel change to .338 LM let us know. I think you will have a lot of fun, and make a lot of noise!

  • What glass do you have on it

  • @Jake93r17 It's a Super Sniper by SWFA - they are priced right and very durable and reliable. Track well etc.

  • @PatriotPrepper, work on your shooting? I don't think you need help with that rifle, you are doing just fine! BTW, what bullet are you using with that load?

  • @shottimes I used the Sierra 168 gr. BTHP Match King. Thanks for the encouraging comments and for watching.

  • i dont think ive ever seen a review with a more down to earth guy, great vid!

  • @Demo7IIRider Really appreciate your comment. Thank you!

  • im a savage lover to im waiting on my savage modle 10FP-SR IN .223 REM

  • @PAOUTDOORSTV I think that will be an accurate, fun gun, that will be economical to shoot. Would like to see a review. Thanks for watching.

  • i dont quite get all the thousands of savage models out there... in the cabelas inventory magazine they have under the guns a savage choate rifle in 308 for 749.99 is this that gun or is it different.... the gun in the magazine looks like sootches but he made it sound expensive so whats the difference?

  • What size is the objective lens on your scope?

  • @HeadUpKneeDown It is 42mm. It's a Super Sniper 10 x fixed scope, from SWFA.com

The video motivated me to change the rings to low rings, and I mounted a new SS 20x scope on that rifle. The SS 10x is now on my RR LAR 8. The Super Sniper scopes are inexpensive, very tough and durable. Dependable scope for the money.

  • nice

  • Great video! Ive been thinking about getting that same gun for a few months now. Where did you get that picitiny scope base? Thanks

  • @evankoeve I got the base at SWFA - I believe it is made by EGW. On the Savage site you can buy Ken Farrel base and rings but they are big bucks. The EGW is a good value. I had not had any problems with it. The rings are Millet tactical and they work well. The scope has not slipped or moved. I also bought some Millet low rings and will be changing them out. Hope you enjoy which ever gun you get. Thanks for watching.

  • @WillfullyVague Thank you for watching. The Savage is a great gun for the money.

  • @PatriotPrepper i was wondering if you could help me out here ive been looking at ballistics of two different rounds the .300 and .308 and wen i looked at the ballistics i was that the .300 was so much more accurate than the .308 and even puts out more fps and ft/lbs the difference is for me is i love to shoot but need something accurate for shooting around 600 to 850yds. that .300 ammo is $26.99 and .308 $19.99 is it worth the extra money for the .300 ? Please reply ASAP i am buying in 3 days.

  • @xxTHEmuffinSNIPERxx Sorry about not replying sooner, but I was in the mountains of NC without a computer. If you are talking about the 300 Win Mag, it does have better ballistics (flatter trajectory) at 600 to 800 yards. The magnum has more recoil and wears out the barrel faster. The magnum costs more to shoot, and the ammo is not as plentiful as the .308 Win. The 300 Win Mag offers an advantage at longer ranges. The military started using the 300 WM and is also using the .338 LM.

  • @PatriotPrepper so in your opinion it sounds like the .308 is of better value than the .300 because of the more expensive ammo and the wear on the barrel? i don't know a ton about what is a better gun but i know what we use in the military as through training in the marines we used a 5.56 nato round which is technically a .300 i was just wondering what would be of better worth considering you seem to have more knowledge and experience than i do on the subject. Thank you for your time sir.

  • @xxTHEmuffinSNIPERxx It depends on your use. The 300 WM is better for the distances you stated. Technically the 5.56 is a .22 not a .30 caliber. The 7.62 Nato is a .30 caliber round. I like the .308 because it suits my purpose for a 500 to 600 yard gun. For further distances I will be using the .338 LM - if you are going to shoot most of the time at distances in excessive of 900 or 1,000 yards you might consider the .338 LM. For 500 to 600 yards use the .308 and for 800 yards the 300 WM - IMHO

  • @PatriotPrepper thats a ton of help man thanks i have some hook ups were i get the the guns 25 over cost so its not that expencive for me and im sorry yes its 7.62 nato :P (i always screw those up)

  • @xxTHEmuffinSNIPERxx I am getting a Model 10 FP-SR soon, and I'm going with .308 because I want to actually shoot it. I don't want to skip a day at the range because I don't feel like paying for .338LM (my first choice in a perfect world). 7.62 NATO is pretty cheap... .300WM or .338LM, not so much. Value goes to .308.

  • i either want a rem 700 or what you got there, i just havent made up my mind yet, but for now my 303 british will have to do. haha

  • @TheGoodOlBoyzChannel I think you will do well with either the Rem 700 or the Savage. Until then that 303 brit will do the job!!!

Let us know which gun you get.

    God bless you.

  • I have the same rifle. Its in my video SHTF Gun Collection. Mine has a stainless steel barrel. I love this rifle.

  • @usfreedom22 Hey usfreedom, checked out your video. You have a great SHTF collection. I also like your attitude. You are logical and sensible, and know what the priorities are for SHTF defense weapons. Keep up the good work.

  • @PatriotPrepper

    Thank you sir

  • Keep fighting for America!
