1)Why is you married in parentheses? She is married. That is, she has a legal binding contract. A contract that is legally that is the same as for a heterosexual couple. Therefore she is not "married" but she is in fact married, irrespective of your beliefs about her marriage's validity or legitimacy.

This interview is so amazing. Portia is very smart and such an articulate person. I could listen to her talk for hours!
I love what Portia said at the very end of the interview in regard to her relationship with Ellen: "It really feels like a fairytale to me!"
It's such a beautiful thing to say and the look on her face and her smile while she says it are so cute and heartwarming!
And she's absolutely right. Their love story really is like a fairytale!
