Here are my thoughts:

MP 1: It was awesome and fun, and still is to date!

MP 2: It was really fun, although I wasn't a huge fan of the costumes

MP 3: It was superior to the other two with a lot of fun Mini-Games.

MP 4: Nothing new, but really fun Mini-games.

MP 5: Cool new features, but the boards was kinda boring.

MP 6: Where it startet to go downhill.

MP 7: WORST MP GAME OF ALL TIME!

MP 8 a little better then 7, but still boring.

MP 9: Looks amazing from the trailers. I am excited!

Also, I feel like 5 was the big transition game. 1 2 and 3 had the classic, nostalgic, N64 feel to them. 4 I loved, and it feels nostalgic, but in a diff way. 5.....well.....for one thing, Toad became a playable character-he should always be the host-, and DK left for his own board-sadly. But, 5 had the woman announcer, who was better. The music also felt diffrent.

Ouestion: Why did they get the male mini-game announcer for 6,7, and 8?

Nintendo is going in the wrong direction with the newer ones. They thing "Oh, the more characters, the better", and yet, many people prefer the first three, where Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi Wario, and DK, (with Daisy and Waluigi in the third one) were the only playable characters. Nintendo, with Mario Party 9, go back to having Toad as the host, and the 6 (or 8) original N64 characters (Not to mention the woman announcer, and classic N64 music and sound effects)
