For some stupid reason GM has always does that. I guess they are afraid that all of their Corvette customers will get pissed off if they give another car a more powerful engine than the Corvette. I think that is dumb and stupid crap like that played into the camaro getting cancelled in 2002. I had a 99 z28 that put 302 HP to the ground nearly bone stock. (K&n filter air lid and flow master cat back) in 99 the z28's LS1 was only rated at 305 hp. It was actually right there with the Bette

I own a '10 ZR1, but that was a funny video. Nice job with the clips and editing. Both the ZL1 and '13 GT-500 are monsters. It'll come down to driver skill for straight-line with the edge obviously to the GT-500. Road course/twisty track work, I'm not so sure. The mag suspension is pretty advanced on the ZL1 and it ran a 7:41 ring time which Ford hasn't tried to beat yet, which may be a telling sign.

The reason the camaro doesn't make as much power as the mustang is because for once it's not just designed to go fast in a straight line. The ZL1 would run any 'stang ragged on a track and that is what it was designed to for. It all boils down to what kind of racing the owner plans to do. Either way we should all be grateful that the pony car wars are back in full force. There's no such thing as too much bad ass american muscle cars to choose from!

That's not necessarily true, the new boss is designed for the track and has a better time than the BMW M3. So mustangs can be a track car but most of them aren't set up that way.

Mainly due to it's lack of production so 'maro fanboys had money saved up while 'stang fanboys were strolling the streets with modded mustangs and making the previous gen 'maros cry at the lack of new camaros.
