For the decorations, it's written in the description : I used danger jewels.

Felyne Heroics has nothing to do with what you eat but with your cats' skills.

If they have felyne heroics, you have a chance to activate it when they cook.

Use the ingredients they are more familiar with to increase the odds.

I don't remember what I ate this time though.

Oh, and you do more damage If, you do 2 forward stabs, pierce, then back slash (Tri - Tri - O - Tri+O) when he's walking, or, if your spirit bar is full, 2 spirit attacks then the back hop (R - R - Tri+O)

@AGuyThatDoesNotCook no, it doesn't change anything... I guess it would be more accurate to say it is an indicator of how damaged they are. There are two levels of red. The reason why people focus his legs is because you'll make him fall stunned to the ground for like 1min if you make all his legs red (lvl2) and then make one leg stagger when he is standing up. This gives a lot of time to hit his head.

@Hulky97 It is because of my armor skills. I have Adrenaline+2. This skill gives you +30% Attack and +90def as long as you stay below 40% of your max health ;)

@kg54427 hmm ive tried it with Dark Scythe before. of course i lost but i got all his legs to lvl 2 bleeding but i still lost.... anyways main problem with Dark Scythe is its sharpness. its very time consuming to keep sharpening it every 5 minutes. but if u can get sharpness up then i think its do-able.

adrenaline +2 will boost your attack and defense rate.. you can get this skill by wearing proper pieces of armor. wear armor that will give you+15 to potential like the monoblos and monodevil set.. if you reach the +15 potential you will unlock the +2 adrenaline skill.. however you must reduce your life to 40% to activate the adrenaline+2 ...

@Aviationman100 what you need is an ice element weapon, i killed both of them in under thirty with my "hi frost edge" SNS so if you use any of the larger weapons you should be able to do it just as fast

@Aviationman100 well out of all the low rank GS's that is your best bet, but if you have the materials for the Khezu Shock -Blade- it would make the fight considerably easier (3 flabby hides, 2 electro sacs, 15 iron ore, and last but not least 3,100z). I also want you to know that for GS's I am not the most reliable source, I only use them as a secondary weapon, SNS are my primary.,

the first time i fought shen, i only used full blango armor set (low rank) fully upgraded with armor spheres (and armor sphere+'s) and i used the gunhammer (that is upgraded after gunhammer prototype). funny thing is, when i intended to repel it, i killed him with 2 minutes and 25 seconds to spare (this goes to anyone stuck on the urgent, little helpful~)

Thanks for the video, I was beginning to fear fighting the Gaoren because the wikia described it's moves as being incredibly damaging, or even instantly fatal. Your video showed me that you can easily take it on without being hit by it's ground underbody scythe, or it's acid blast, or it's quake on each leg! I think it's about time I take the Gaoren on. @bestmaniscool If you're quite fast with the bombs, yes you'll do better.

If you have the possibility, put Trapmaster jewels on your armor to get the skill. You'll land bombs much much faster :)

@hearts231206 well i think u should get either wyvern blade "blood" or get the rathian and rathalos dual swords upgraded as much as u can. poison, paralyze, and sleep do NOT work on shen gaoren or lao shan lung. u dont really need blango armor but it is still good to have. The main stragety i would give is: for longsword, hit his legs and make them all turn red one at a time then go longsword his body. for dual swords, same stragety except bring mega and power juices.

@JusticeJustJ She had the skill "Adrenaline" active, which increases your attack somewhat greatly when you're below a certain point of health. However, it's very risky to use so I wouldn't recommend it until you're VERY skilled.

@Joshuatopia They're not related. To increase your Hunter Rank, you have to clear quests in the guild and as the urgent quests appear, you deal with them.

As for your equipment, obituary is a good set for longswords and swords+shields. Black scythe is not an easy weapon tree and not as powerful as others, but it does its job. :)
