Beautiful song! The first time I heard this song, I cried. I'm not from Australia, nor have I visited. But I can understand the sentiment this song invokes.

@tony999Melb problem being with the line...."no matter how far or how wide i roam" 90% of Australians have never been out of the country...and the whole point of the song is being away from Australia and missing the place!! :P ....I may not be In Australia now, But "I still call Australia home!!!!!" I'm proud that we are respected around the world....even tho some in Australia may not respect other countries.

@axesent Approximately 1 million Australian citizens currently live overseas. That is 5% of all Australian citizens. I don't know where you got your 90% statistic from. It is a difficult number to measure, but passports being required for overseas travel are a good indicator: over 60% of Aussies have passports, whereas closer to 30% of Americans do.

I love this country, no where else in the world can you be accepted with such open arms, warmth, humor and friendliness. Where else can you find such vast open land and freedom? Where else can you meet people from so many different ethnic backgrounds, cultures and ideas.

BTW --- So much for the global warming crap; here in NE Spain - Catalonia, we had one of our coldest winters; on 8 March 2010 we had the biggest snowfall since 1962, everything collapsed and no electricity or water for 3 days at least and I'm talking Costa Brava, Girona, Barcelona, all snow clogged, sea level...
