  • You only flip it once in order to seal in the juices and the flavor...if you're constantly flipping it, the meat will never get to a high temp and it will leak the juices out. And there's nothing wrong with marinades, it just depends on what kind of flavor profile you want. A spice rub will leave a nice layer of flavor while still highlighting the quality of the meat.

  • Bobby is right about flipping once...but you gotta have a high temp to sear the meat on either side...or yeah...keep flipping...

    I agree with the marinaides being over rated...I prefer spices and rubs....but a beer marinaide is awesome on almost all meats....then an oil down and rub....mmmmMMMMM

  • #1 = False! Turning the meat frequently means juicier meat. If you don't believe me, do what Bobby Flay says and then watch while the juices pool on the top of the meat and run down into the coals. But then, what kind of grilling advice would you expect from someone who uses a gas grill?

  • @alexmart54 You're absolutely right. My friend's wife is Mexican, they go 3-5X per year, they bring back coolers full of Mexican grass-fed beef & we all bar-b-q year round in Cali with just the bags of sea salt & a hint of pepper. Better than American beef every time!

    Useless tips huh? Your a fool if you think that rotating a burger 4 times will do anything but dry it out. Marinades are overrated!

  • I was sharing my experience in grilling quality food - be it shashlik or a nice steak.

    It wasnt supposed to be used on burgers and other junkfood, I can easily grill meat for a burger using F16's afterburner, no brains or marinades needed, really. And those kerosine aroma, uh, just spill lots of mayo here and there. Now feeling educated?
