@rusz1993 I was being sarcastic, "legs help you push the weight up"yeah but thats the problem- & lifting your but in the air&holding your hands out further can make bench pressing easier, swinging your shoulders back and jerking the weight up can make dumb bell curls easier. even if its approved by some committee it's still something you shouldnt do. Paul Anderson got strong from manhandling weight,which is just how he did his lifts&manhandling weight is how all guys lift heavy objects
@celloprof ye bro, im not "for" swirling around and bringing your ass up like a retard while benching. Its just amazing the BAALLLLLS that this guy has to lift that much weight without even attempting to use any legs pure beast i looked at videos of him training he was working out with metal from a scrap yard just beast
Actually Guys, there is another video of Paul Anderson Clean and Pressing 435 pounds. so im guessing this is not too far off that weight. sooooo if Paul is only pressing about half his bodyweight, like one person who commented below suggested, then he must weigh a wopping 800 plus pounds lol. common. i do believe he is pressing more than bodyweight. certainly not half. there is one video of him side pressing(a one handed overhead lift) 300 pounds, so... lol.
Heck, even the guy at 2:30 was good. THATS JUST GREAT, I mean he pushed up the weight with brute force, not dropping down like a rock to push up the weight again, like a pussy, like TODAY in the Olympics!

@celloprof yeah but he's pressing about half his bodyweight, dickhead. Ok now that we have the novice opinions out of the way, if you know nothing about the sport do not fucking comment on the technique you fucking idiot.
IMO Paul was a terrific brute but without all modern training advantages. He said he drank gallons of milk even beef blood. The Bulgars & Russians got very intelligent on lifting I think had Paul had all those pluses his lifts really would have been greater. I think they would have overcome his problem cleaning weights and with that out of the way---but speculation counts for little. The crowd was wild over his 182.5 press and much stricter than Alexeev's later 236.5
i think i comments on paul having a smaller right leg i was thinking of doug hepburn

@damianlionel I wonder if the confusion was caused by using kgs for the press weight and lbs for Paul's bodyweight???

@binokoron maybe that was it.
