Very true kenton there was also another thing about ROS when anakin said to palpatine when they where still on the droid ship chancellor said leave him and anakin said his fate will be the sane as ours, all three where killed on the death star. No, Anakin was the chosen one though. The Chancellor's first chance of trying to corrupt him, being he was secretly a Sith, was when he told him to kill Dooku. He later killed Windu when the jedi were going to execute the chancellor. He made the wrong choice by listening to the chancellor. He then killed Windu. The chancellor took him over. He then rescued him from his battle with obi wan. he turned him into Lord Vader commanding many storm trooper legions, one specificly the 501st legion.
I cant not reply to this. The entire point of anakin was that he was concieved by the medichlorians, as GuitarMarc said. So by saying his father might have been the one who brought balance to the force youre suggesting that the force may have brought balance to the force.
Wasn't the reason Obi Wan was reluctant to teach Luke is because he felt he failed Anakin but knew he was the Rebellion's only hope (as said by Leia)?

I'll admit, Episode 3 was the best of the bunch, but that's not saying much.
I stand firm in my opinion that James Franco would have done a better job as Anakin then Hayden, though.

No, Anakin was the chosen one though. The Chancellor's first chance of trying to corrupt him, being he was secretly a Sith, was when he told him to kill Dooku. He later killed Windu when the jedi were going to execute the chancellor. He made the wrong choice by listening to the chancellor. He then killed Windu. The chancellor took him over. He then rescued him from his battle with obi wan. he turned him into Lord Vader commanding many storm trooper legions, one specificly the 501st legion.

Not only is this on the DVD, this was at the Star Wars Concert I was at in Nassau Coliseum, I loved the part with Darth Vader at the end (they had smoke plume up from the stage), It was awesome.

two things that would have stopped him turning.
1. if they had granted him the rank of master therefore who would not have felt cheated and been less suceptable.
2. if obi wan had stayed hidden till padme had finished i think he would of turned. also if obi wan had taken anakin with him that definatly would have stopped him cus then he would of seen the suffering he had caused.

Actually, Anakin did turn back to the light side. In episode 6, when he saved Luke's life by throwing Palpatine off the bridge. Anakin was, truly, The Chosen One.

He always was the Chosen One, but it never said that he had to be on the Light Side.
His purge of the Jedi led to a balance between the Light and Dark-side users in the universe later in the series. He brought balance to the Force, but not the way the Jedi expected.

The Council can't grant Master rank to some upstart whelp just to make him feel better. It doesn't work that way.
He was already submersed in the Dark Side when Padme met him on Mustafar. He'd slaughtered Jedi and Seperatist leaders; he was through and through evil.
