  • Very impressive! This song made my mom remember her late father. This song has a very melancholic feel to it. My father was impressed by the speed of this song, and I will subscribe to this. You, sir, have the power to sway the emotions of a crowd! Are you making more songs like this? If so, please, please put them up!

  • At the moment, I'm trying to teach myself to play the cello, but eventually, I'll record some new stuff on the keyboard. If I get my skills high enough with the cello, I plan to record duets. ( :

  • I almost know the how song i just need to practice a little more and i will be able to play this =D

  • Great! Have you been using my tutorial or just listening to this video?

  • @ryukenosuke yeah but they kind of sound a little different

  • Ah. Yea. I make my tutorials in a way that lets you, the player, decide how you want to modify the song to truly make it your own. However, the tutorials give you the basic song and accompaniment so you can at least play it in a basic form.

  • @ryukenosuke by any chance do you know how to play donkey kong country (jungle groove) if u do can you please give a tutorial

  • I've never tried. Maybe I'll learn it someday if it catches my ear. ( :

  • no me pasas la partitura plis xD

  • There may not be a movie bt the series is already very epic. Even chef Kawasaki is there!!!

  • i mean there is already a serie of kirby where this song is used in the final battle against nightmare. Its japanese name is Hoshi no Kaabi or something like that.

  • ...SHEET MUSIC PLZ?!?!

  • I'm sorry, I cannot read nor write sheet music, but I made a tutorial for this song. The video response to this video is my tutorial. ( :

  • I hate to admit it, but I've never heard this song before, but I definitely like it. ^^ I'm gonna go practice it now.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. If it helps, I have a tutorial for this song. You can find it in my video uploads.

  • This..... If Kirby ever dies, this would be the theme. Beautiful.

  • I was always hoping this might be the opening or credits theme if there were every a Kirby movie. ^_^

  • @ryukenosuke The is a series out already

  • I'm afraid I don't understand.

  • i love it it was really great it kinda sounded sad

  • I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching. ( :

  • I can tell you had fun with it =P It was excessive in parts though (just my opinion). I liked the first half. :)

  • Sometimes I tend to go off on musical tangents and forget I'm recording a video. Lol, that could explain the excessive melodies in the middle/end. ^_^

  • @ryukenosuke Well, you have a gift. I'm glad that you embrace it! =)

  • Thanks. ( :

I'm really glad that youtube exists, so that I can share it with everyone.

  • sounds like an epic version or an intense scene is taking place

  • Kirby vs Meta Knight in the ultimate showdown of who is the ultimate weapon.

    ^_^

  • This is amazing! I'm in love with your piano playing!

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. ( :

  • @ryukenosuke no problem, you've gained a new subscriber :D

  • Woot! (| :

  • Woot! ^_^

  • i used to play like that : (

  • Why don't you now? What happened?

  • Thanks!

  • 1:10 Made me shiver =D

    Ace video 5/5

  • Wow, thanks!

  • it does sound like it, sometimes it doesent. it sounds like really good improve though! its good!

  • Hehe, thx.

  • @BennyFourStrings

sorry i meant Impov like improvisation!!!

  • I wouldn't' really call it an improv, as this was more of a re-composed version. I added some melodies and took away others to get this. I went through like 50 recordings until I got one at the quality that I could be content with.

  • hahaha wow this is really good.

  • I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.

    ( :

  • I love you.

  • Um....I...uh...that's not really the response I was looking for with this video...from a guy.

    Lol

    Thanks...I guess.

  • @ryukenosuke Well, I don't *literally* love you. I just meant that this was awesome.

  • Lol, I know. I was just joking around.

    ( :

  • this is ectually fountain of dreams

  • Yea, I mentioned that in the video info. I originally learned it from listening to the "Fountain of Dreams" theme.

  • @vinnie049049 It has many names.

  • no offense, but I think you got some of the notes wrong. and I noticed a slight mistake at 2:08.

  • Yep, I agree. Learning by ear makes it a little difficult to learn songs perfectly, and you've got a good ear to hear that little slip up. ( :

    Thanks for watching.

  • I have heard other versions of this song but this one is the best.

  • *cheers* Thanks for the label of best. (| :

  • I nearly died for listening to it.. It's rly good!! : )

  • Oh wow. O_o

    I would have tossed you a Mega Tomato if that were the case. ( ;

Thanks for watching and your comment.

  • THE most absolute recreation of the dreamland melody :]

  • Hahaha, you really think so?

    Thanks for the kudos! ^_^

  • (b! . !)b

  • HAHA!!! It's a thumbs-up KIRBY!

    ( :

  • (o^.^)o

lol this is ma favorite dreamland rendition

  • Score!

    I'm glad to hear that. ( :

  • lol wow you cant even read music, someone is good :P lol i need sheet music or i get lost

  • I just commit it to memory. If you play a song enough times, it becomes muscle memory, and then I don't have to think about it any longer.

  • very good can you make a tutorial?

  • Thanks, and I already did. ( :

It's the video response to this vid.

  • where i can find the sheets of this song

  • Unfortunately, I have no idea. This is my own version of the Kirby theme, and I learned the basic song by ear.

I do have a tutorial, though. It is the video response to this, and I give you a birds eye view of the keys I'm hitting, if you wish to learn it that way.

  • I'm in shock and awe. Great job.

  • ^_^ Thanks a bunch. I'm glad you enjoyed this.

  • wow ur amazing!! where u find the music? also im subing u ur my first subcriver congrats!! :D

  • Oh, rock on. ( : Thanks for the sub.

I'm unsure of the official name of the song, but I used an orchestrated version of this song to learn by ear. I can't read nor write music, so that is my only option to learn songs.

  • amazing.

  • Merci. ( :

  • Salute to you, sir! Thats a fantastic piece of (epic) music. Very well played, great impressions and i can hear the feelings.

Its great that people like you (who are only playing by ear) can reach such a great result.

  • Oh wow. Well, thank you for saying so. ( :

  • This is awesome. It sounds really great.

Oh, and i would suggest you to learn the basics of sheet music. It's just that you can write down ideas or something. There are many basic-tutorials for that on the internet, but if you want i could give you a link for a nice how-to where i learned the most things.

  • In all honesty, playing by ear for 23+ years...I think it would actually hurt my playing and reputation if I were to start learning official musical skills such as the ability to read sheet music.

Until the day arises where I am no longer able to learn by ear, I will consider it then. Thank you very much for the suggestion, though.

  • Oh, when it's about over 20 years... then i think you don't need it either ;P

  • its not a thing about shame--you can get alot of music theory from sheetmusic as opposed to ear-playing. (as well as learn much more sophistocated pieces of music than nintendo themes)

  • Oh, I absolutely agree. However, when one structures his/her own style around the organized layout of sheet music, I've seen many people lose the ability to improvise and compose their own. They have become reliant on the music to be laid out in front of them. You could almost describe these kind of people as organic MP3 players. The sheet music is the MP3 and they are the iPod. Lol

Regardless, I agree that being able to read sheet music is helpful, but it's not for me at the moment. ( :

  • Great job!

  • I like your different take on this theme and I can understand why you did it to. As it'd be very difficult to play at full speed. Especially the end section of the main theme.

Very nicely played btw! Keep it up!

  • Aye. ( : You are quite right.

  • lol =D I've always wanted to learn this but it'd sound not that great on my keyboard so I'll be learning it once I manage to get a better keyboard lol, Probably a Yamaha np30 Electric Piano ^_^

Thanks for also uploading your tutorial, I'll find that useful in the near future if I can manage to buy one. I can sense me having to take out a loan lol!

  • Hehehe, well, even if your keyboard isn't producing a sound you like, you could still practice now so that you may play the song right away later. ( :

  • Did you learn this by ear or by Sheet music?

eather way i love nintindo music and yer one of the best 1,000,000/5 you awsome m8 can u make a tut. for this?

    You are "very" talented!

  • I learned by ear. I cannot read sheet music. I, also, made a tutorial for this song a while back. It is the first video response for this video. ( :

  • He has a tutorial in the video responses if you wanna learn it.

  • Wow, thats brilliant, I wanna learn this but cant read music. I wanna know though, is this the same song as the song gourmet race in brawl do you know (I dont have melee, sorry).

  • Yes, this is the same song.

Also, I made a tutorial for this song if you wish to learn by ear and sight, like myself. It is the first video response to this video.

  • Thanks a lot :D

  • Interesting. The way you play it - slowly and calmly - makes this theme song sound melancholic and very soothing, quite different from the original. It's very pretty.

  • Thank you. ( :

  • You are amazing at the piano!!! Love your music! 100/10

  • 5/5 + favorite T^T so beautiful...!

  • (|: Thank you very much.

  • really nice version of the music, but the original is better I think XD

    well done!

  • Thanks. ( :

  • you maybe have the notes for me? =)

  • Unfortunately, I do not know how to read nor write music, so I wouldn't be able to tell you. / :

    I'm sorry.

  • np ty 4 the answer =)

  • Fountain of Dreams is a really great song from Kirby's Dreamland. The theme song of Dreamland is (who woulda guessed) Kirby's Dreamland. It's basically the same notes with some stuff spliced out. I found some sheet music on Kirby's Dreamland. It's great that you played it by ear!

I should record myself playing Dreamland to show you the difference. This video was great. Do you have any other pieces you play by ear.

    Thanks =)

  • Just about every song I have up on youtube I learned by ear. Feel free to sort through them and see what you think. ^-^

  • Why are you playing it minor? (not that I don't like it. I do like it.) Just why are you playing it minor?

  • Ya know...I never asked myself that. I know that I love minor scales as they give songs a darker atmosphere and creates a bit of suspense or sense of urgency to it. That's probably why.

  • it was okay. I love the original XD

  • ^-^ Thanks for watching, though.

  • love it

    where id u learn it?

  • I taught myself while listening to an orchestrated version of the song. However, quite a bit of this version that I'm playing is of my own composition.

  • omg this is awsome

u gotta make a tutorial of this vid

if u do u will hella sub

  • Check the video response. The tutorial has been up for quite some time.

  • best vid ever! :)

  • (|:

Oh, and thanks for your kind words earlier. I'd reply, but you had a friend-filter thingie enabled.

  • thumbs up realy nice :D

  • I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching. ( :

  • This version (SSBM) is even more like the lambada song :O

  • I tried searching to listen to the lambada song...but I can't find anything related to Kirby and Lambada. Therefore, I'm unsure what you mean.

  • Great song, great played =)

  • Thanks, again. ^-^

  • Can't explain how much I love this ^^

Have to learn kirbys' dreamland now :D

  • Hehehe. Well, if you need, I have a tutorial for this song posted. It is the video response to this video.

  • I know! :D

I now fully now the intro and some of the first part. What bathers me is that I can't see more than the basics note with the right hand. I want to learn to play it with more than one note at a time :P

  • Well, the real song is a single note melody with accompaniment, but I modified it to use dual tone notes. I had hoped that by offering a basic tutorial, people could then use their own music theory to make the song truly their own, therefore having many multiple versions up on youtube. ( :

  • hehe, okey. I guess that I'll have to do on my own then. =)

  • i waz readin the comments and i hear u dont read music either?

lol i cant either i play by ear and come on youtube 2 watch vids like these 2 learn how 2 play

its good 2 no that even though i cant read the music i can still learn 2 be as good as you ^^

you know you should try 2 play some zelda music thats wat i play and sometimes i play music from other vid games such as kirby lol but ya u should try zelda music i think youd be pretty good ^^

oh and nice vid ^^ lol

  • You may have found the perfect Youtube user, then. Check out the video response to this, and you'll see I post tutorials for my songs for fellow musicans who learn by ear or sight.

  • nice mate =) but the first part is a bit eh... no offence still really good.

  • Too slow, too over bearing, etc?

I don't take offense and actually welcome your critiques and input to help me progress.

  • WOW!!!!!(no word)

  • wow fucking nice^^ 100000/5 ^^

  • I can't read sheet music either, sadly, and even more sadly is I have no ability to learn by ear.

  • Perfect. If you can learn by sight and practice, the video response to this one is a tutorial I posted to play this song. You might want to check it out.

  • amazing! oh my god ur awesome man!!

  • *shrugs* Eh, I try.

Hahaha, j/k. Thanks a lot for your kind words. I'm glad you liked it. ( :

  • That is great, I like the way you played it.

    Keep it up. <(^_^<)

  • ^-^ I'm glad you enjoyed it. I certainly plan to. hehe

  • hey I Love it ! I want to learn piano !

  • ^-^ You should learn, then. Hehe

  • dude that was epic start to finish. id give this 6 out of 5 if i could. do u have the any music for the kirby theme? cuz im goin crazy lookin for music and tryin to figure it out on guitar.

    again AWESOME (>'.')>

  • Unfortunately, I can't read music, nor write it. I play by ear, improvisation and my own composing. You could possibly watch my tutorial for this song and try to transpose it to the guitar that way.

  • YAY SSB FTW, IM GOD LIKE :) ...put never have time to play...

  • I used to be.

  • Nice job! lol at the thumbs up at the end!

  • Haha, felt odd just ending the vid like that, so had to do "something." The thumbs up was just the first thing that came to mind. ^-^

  • lol.

  • Man i love all your videos. Your views should go over like 100k i say lol.

  • Hahaha, thanks for your kind words. ^-^

I'm just your typical half asian. Halfway good at everything I do. If I were full asian...I'd have mystical powers that'd let me be master at everything...but alas...only half my body does as I ask it to. Lol

  • lol yer funny i can play mario theme with chords and everything on piano but not kirby

  • I should learn the original mario theme. It's one of the most popular, it seems.

  • dude ur awsome i wish i cood download vids 2 my ipod

  • You can. Check out w w w [.] keepvid [.] com

  • Do you use a Yamaha PSR-172 ?

I have a Yamaha PSR-175 and it really looks like this one, only the buttons on the bottom are missing.

  • Yamaha PSR-GX76

  • crap you didnt include my favorite part. Some of this song is missing!

  • O_o Really? Hmm, I don't recall which part could be missing. Yea, I modified some areas...but thought each section was basically there.

  • ...are you sure? I just re-listened to the Kirby's dreamland theme used in Super Smash Bros, and I didn't hear any part that was missing from mine.

  • Yeah it should have come in right at the 2min mark

  • Ooooooooh, you must be talking about the Fountain of Dream's orchestrated version from SSBM. At the moment you say I'm missing a section, the orchestra added a soft, almost whimsical, main melody. If that's what you're talking about, I didn't use the Fountain of Dreams to learn this song, so I wouldn't have known to include it. I had a different orchestrated version to listen to...I think the Boston Pops made my version...maybe.

  • Yeah thats what I'm talking about. When it got there i was like umm what the heck is goin on here who's playin a sick joke!? lol

  • Hahaha, t'was me!!!  APRIL FOOLS!!!!!! Rawr...even though it's not April. c( ;

  • that sounds really pretty

  • Thank you very much. =^-^=

  • no he hasent he learnt by ear

  • Correct. ( :

  • did u had the sheet?

    I want to learn :P

  • No. I cannot read music, but I made a tutorial for this song. I'll post it as a video response to this vid.

  • Which part could I improve on?

  • u have the same piano as me

  • Not the best, but not the worst, either. ^-^

    I wouldn't mind a full 88-key keyboard, though.

  • You should try playing checker knights (kirby air ride)

    9.9999/10

  • damn you got the same keyboard as me

  • Pretty good one, don't you think? I do miss my smaller PSR that offered dual voice, split voice, and other options, but I'd have to say this one is more useful.

  • this sounds amazing it's Magical lol

  • Can you show this same video in a different view, so if i cant see the sheet, i can at least see your arrangement

  • I made a tutorial on this. It's a simplified version, but it allows you to see what base notes I hit. With a little music theory, you ought to be able to modify the tutorial to suit your needs. ( :

  • Holy crap, where the hell did u learn this? i can play it, but i want to have those extra keys like u do, u gotta teach me

  • This is incredible I like the way 1:49 bass sounds like canon

  • Haha, good ear. You are correct. That is the same scale that Canon would be played on if it were Canon in D sharp (I think...I don't know notes very well)

  • Very, very good!!

Since i've watched your video i want to play it aswell.

My sister has got a piano, i will try this song as my first piano-song! ^^

Maybe the ability of reading sheets of music would be helpful but.. whatever xD

    you inspire me! ;-)

  • Excellent! I'm glad I was able to help. ( :

  • this is so cool!! my mind cant comprehend how u ppl do this sometimes! i play some piano and i have the original song down pat pretty well, but i have the toughest time changing it to make it my own. idk y i cant do it... but lets just say that im really jealous right now :) amazing show

  • Well, thank you for your kind words. I think it was easier for myself to make this song more unique due to the fact that I learned by ear. I had to improv some sections to make it all fit, such as my simple bass line.

Composing your own music will also help, as it encourages learning music theory, whether naturally or professionally (school).

  • wow... i never thpught of a music school... ill have to c wat i can do bout this!! thanx!
